I have a lot to say about this choreo, after learning all of it, it is 100% one of my all time favorite choreographies!?!? each part looks ridiculous yet you have to do it with full passion and there’s a sense of elegance. Not in an orthodox way but there’s so much care put into the dance. The way they lead with their chest is VERY classy and the way the hip follows bounces the skirt,, I’m weak. the part that goes “wow wow” just works so perfectly?? the dab builds off the high adrenaline from the “hit it, hit it, OW!” as each member joins in while there had simply been individual groups for “hit it” augh I love Yeonwoo’s part especially. yes there’s the shirt tugging but afterwards her stepping back before opening her arms is a common move we see through out the entire choreo from different members so it never feels out of no where. AND THE MV DIDNT SHOW IT BUT THE INTRO DANCE. so much happening in conjuncture, the pop and lock, let me uhhhhh die in dance heaven already

Seriously, though, one of the things I noticed about Momoland from their debut is that they are *legitimately* the cute girl concept. Other girl groups kind of treat it like somewhat of a gimmick (which isn't wrong, since it is a selling point) while Momoland is genuinely youthful and cute. Momoland has naturally cute girls, who are full of personalities. I don't know if you're into J-pop, but Momoland is similar to a typical J-pop group with a distinctly K-pop sound, which is beyond refreshing. Even going as far back as SNSD, when a K-GG would aim for a cute concept, they would just strip them down to a J-pop sound (Twice being a perfect example.) Even "Into the New World" had a Morning Musume sound. They didn't go too deep, like Gugudan, though. From the teasers, Boom Boom already looked like a break-out hit. While people criticized it, I immediately thought of the teasers for Red Velvet's "Dumb Dumb." In general, people want to regard darker, or "cooler" concepts as ideal, when the biggest Korean song to ever be released was Psy's "Gangnam Style". Cute can't just be glass slippers, white background, and a rich company either. That youthful, and fun component needs to be there too, imo. The rap, is amazing. It was recently pointed out that JooE looks like Jooheon, and that rap made it that much worse for me lmao. It was cool, and not-at-all tryhard. The way they presented it made it fit so well. Not to mention, they have the swag. JooE looks freaking cool as hell. One of their biggest issues since their debut has been Nancy. She is far too popular for their group, but I think Boom Boom finally showed the talents of the other girls. JooE, Hyebin, Jane, Daisy etc. really shined here. As much as we would all *LOVE* to dance like BTS, Seventeen and EXO, we can't. The choreography was creative but easy to follow, which is the fundamental aspect of successful dance. Another reference to "Gangnam Style", but does anyone really think the song would be as popular if they swapped the horse dance with the chorus of "Monster"? We like fun and silly dances to reference to every now and then. Backpack Kid, dabbing, Nae Nae, Cupid Shuffle etc. I think this dance fits into that well. They killed it with the hearts. I can already imagine Heechul using it. Based on their prior music and Boom Boom, I think Momoland would be a fantastic representative for the "cute" concept.
