16:33 - Appolo is about Matt's relationship with his wife and her frustrations with him going on tour all the time. Matt's been married to his wife throughout most of his life which is likely one of the reasons Hum didn't pursue their music career further. All the guys in Hum really wanted to live ordinary lives and I don't think they ever imagined that they'd reach such stardom. Also to note track #3 (If you are to bloom) is about Matt's child that was born stillborn, the songs about him coping with the loss of his child. This subject matter is touched on more in a song called "The Same Place" by his other band Centaur.

Wow, I didn't expect a reaction to Hum but soo happy you did this! We appreciate that you select more obscure stuff and not just what's trending. That's cool. "Inlet" from 2020 is a must as well. Hum had a 21 year hiatus, it just kind of came out of nowhere and was a pleasant surprise! If you're still taking requests, I want to suggest Elastica's debut "Elastica" from '95, a seminal album from the Britpop era they were huge here in the UK.

@@tetfol3315 I probably lean more toward Raise also, if not just for the fact that it’s so innovative in its sound considering the other rock music of its time, and it still holds up well today. Feel So Real, Pile Up, Rave Down, Deep Seat are some of my favorite songs I listen to regularly, but if recommending to other people, I’d probably go with Mezcal Head to introduce them and then go back to listen to Raise

@@mollyesanborntotally. …but hey your reaction to this one is worth the wait. Hum was cool in the 90zzz because they mixed Alternative music weirdness with quite a bit of heaviness. They weren’t afraid to be heavy. In fact, I remember seeing “Stars” on Headbangers Ball & 120 Minutes, the alternative rock show on MTV 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽

Inlet is worth listening to also, sound production is very cool, just a band doing what they want without being controlled, true to themselves but still keeping it modern, most rock bands today don’t have a unique sound that also rocks hard and isn’t the same generic commercial boring crap. Other 90s bands to definitely check out are Swervedriver (Raise or Mezcal Head are great albums), Failure, Jawbox, Sebadoh, Seam, Braid, Texas is the Reason, Quicksand, Paw, Polvo, Tad
