They are a Korean (classical) CROSSOVER vocal group, but not "K-Pop". They mostly cover iconic songs, while always respecting the original. They give their versions their own creative touch and thus lead each of these songs to another TOP. Thanks to their very extraordinary and flexible voices, ranges and scills, they can adapt to any genre and style and shine with every performance. In fact, you shouldn't miss them any longer.

Thank you for your reaction! This is Forestella, a crossover group from Korea. They are the winner group in the Phantom Singer 2; an audition show to form a crossover quartet like il Divo from Korea. However, as they have their own unique style, they won't be Korean il Divo, they will be the Forestella of the world! Forestella has sung great covers like Bohemian Rhapsody, We are the Champions, Hijo de la Luna, Heal the World, the Sound of Silence, My Favorite Things, Champions (mash-up of Champs league theme and Champions by Jo SuMi), Nella Fantasia, Scarborough Fair..etc etc. At the Phantom Singer All Stars they sang Time in a bottle, Je suis Malade as well. Shape of You in English, Spanish and African Zulu is fantastic indeed. You can even see them dancing singing Smooth Criminal as well! If you are a LOL fan, check their Warriors and Legends Never Die! And they broke the record of their own with EXO's MAMA winning 6 trophies for King of Kings in a row in Immortal Songs. Check their magnificent performances of Bad Romance and Lazenca Save us, Unwritten Legend and Despacito too. Forestella is a quartet of Ko WooRim (a classical bass, intense abyss-deep low tone), Kang HyungHo (an ex-research chemist, rock vocalist with soprano head voice falsetto), Cho MinGyu (a classical leggiero tenor, light boyish crystal clear tone) and Bae DooHoon (a musical actor, 159th King of the Masked Singers, emotion convincer good at R&B, Pop). Each has distinct tone and style of singing, different charm. But all of them are famous as practice-freaks. They meet almost everyday to practice together. In a radio program the leader (Cho MinGyu) revealed it would be around 20 days they didn't meet in the year. Bae DooHoon also said they don't meet 1~2 days in a month. I think this explains how their perfection can be possible. Don't miss their m/v for Save our lives! It's full of wonders. Each of them is representing an element in the m/v. They sang Fake Love of BTS and their song Save our lives at MAMA. Their majestic original song Utopia is a must check. Now I see they are creating a genre called Forestella. Forestella released their single KOOL in Kpop style to fulfill their promise of Kpop cover dance for exceeding 990K views of Save our lives m/v. They struggled to choose a Kpop to dance, became to think making their own Kpop song with dance! As crossover works for all genres, Forestella did a great job for their fans. Take a listening to Chosen One, an EPIC OST of the Sword of Aramun. Forestella released fantastic original Snow Globe m/v! Kang HyungHo composed it, and all the Forestella members contributed in arranging it. Another original Chagall's Dream brings back the moment of Forestella Festival in my heart, I feel like in my lucid dream seeing Forestella altogether in the future in advance. Hello, thank you for your first time analysis of this incredible group Forestella. They are a Crossover group who just celebrated their 6year Anniversary of their debut back on the @14th March 2018. Forestella was formed on a 2017 tv competition Phantom Singer 2nd Season and went on to win on November 3rd 2017. When they first met on the show, there was leggiero tenor 27yr old Cho MinGyu, an experienced opera singer; 22 year old opera student and basso profundo voice, Ko Woorim who was then about to take his final Bachelor of Music,classic Voice exams; then we have Kang HyungHo 36, the self-taught…yes ! self-taught! tenor soprano, rock-singer and musician and over the years since University days where he acquired a degree in chemical engineering and then gained 4 years experience as a research chemist while still yearning for a career in music and performing part time as frontman and guitarist for his university rock band PITTA winning competitions until it folded and he then joined a work-band with whom he won a statewide amateur band competition in Busan. Then in a last ditch effort to try for a music career, he entered auditions for Phantom Singer 2 and the rest is history. Finally there is Bae Doohoon 38 , a Bachelor of Arts graduate ..musical theatre, majoring in acting…. with a baritenor voice and a versatile range. He just celebrated his 10 year Anniversary since his debut in 2013. Perhaps for more bass vocal appreciation, Lazenca, Save us; Inner Universe(Ghost in The Shell - Stand Alone Complex ) , Legends Never Die,Shape of You, L’Immensita, Maldite Sea Mi Suerte, Forestella originals Save our Lives followed in order by Utopia,…then White night. live versions are best, but the Forestella music videos are stunning and it’s important to watch right till credits and logo appear.

They are polar opposites but a very unique blend! I learn so much from you every single time!!! Dimash may be the best in the world but: Hua Chenyu, So Hyang and Forestella are my other favorites that I listen to everyday! I'm a dedicated Dimash dear - 4+ years now and I listen to him daily. About a year ago I watched Bad Romance by Forestella and wham - they grabbed me too. I adore them. Ko Woorim (bass) is the maknae (baby) of the group and is currently serving in Korea's military as is mandatory. Right now the other 3 are performing as a trio and they ALL have wonderful solo stuff too. This song featured Woorim the most, but other songs will change things up and all 4 of them feature, depending upon the song. You will thoroughly enjoy your Forestella journey - guaranteed. As an avid Dear, Forestella is my favorite group, hands down, their arrangements are incredible, musically interesting, and they, unlike most groups, quite often use Woorim’s bass vocals as a foundation. I think you will thoroughly enjoy anything you hear from them and they have very good originals as well, the originals seem to be focused on the reality of the world and humanity, so of course they have many fans who are also Dears.

They were individual competitors on a survival elimination show called "Phantom Singer" whose goal was to create a crossover vocal quartet like II Divo. They compete 1 v. 1, then the survivors move on to recruit for duos, then trios... and finally the Quartet. The guy 2nd from the right (Mingyu) won every round and that gave him the chance to recruit the others. Left to right Woorim - Classically trained Basso Profundo Hyungho - Rock Countertenor (zero training until he joined the group) Mingyu - Leader and Classically trained Leggiero Tenor (he and Woorim went to the same school) Doohoon - Musical Theater Actor, Baritenor They are lightning in a bottle. The show has turned out several great quartets, but none have the widespread appeal of Forestella. They continue to enter competitions, put out albums and even toured N. America last year. They intend to keep performing, but they are a man down for the next year+ as their Bass, Woorim, completes his Mandatory Military service. They have done everything from their original K-pop song, "Kool", to their new rock waltz, "Snow Globe" (which seems to be a fanciful retelling of them coming together as a team). They don't believe in genres and fear no style of song. Outstanding live performances to check out, Lazenca, Save Us (From the Space Rock Opera), Legends Never Die, Hijo de la Luna, Time in a Bottle, Je Suis Malade, Gondre Mandre (Dead Drunk), and Despacito. For an extra treat, check out Kang Hyungho's "Phantom of the Opera" audition (he sings both The Phantom and Christine's parts), or Cho Mingyu's "Balada de la Trompeta", and many other songs they perform individually. They all can sing in multiple languages and I've heard Cho Mingyu sing in up to 12 different languages in 1 of the songs from the movie Frozen.

So glad you found Forestella, called the “Kings of Harmonies”. Woorim,Ko, the base, is a trained opera singer (good guess on the classical training!), baritone/tenor is Doohoon Bae, a musical singer/actor, tenor is Mingyu Cho, leader of the group, also trained opera singer, and lastly the contra tenor and often soprano is Hyungho Kang, never formally trained, but sang in his own band for years, he was a chemical engineer before winning the Phantom Singer competition along with the other 3. They are practice freaks and having different backgrounds, they can bring a little bit of everything in a song. For two other incredible performances, try “ Je suis malade », cover of Lara Fabian’s song, and « Utopia » , Forestella’s original. Please try to pick a live version of UTOPIA; their MV is very is good, but always subject to doubting their abilities. A REALLY interesting analysis of my favourite vocal group, from a new subscriber. Forestella is a South Korean crossover male quartet who can sing brilliantly basically anything. Very innovative too. I checked your playlist, I'd like to recommend Forestella Queen's best songs on KBS Jeonju channel. I saw you were recommended Bohemian Rhapsody, I think you would find Universal Music Classics Forestella Mystique encore concert live version easily. But the thing is, the video has dark lighting so it's hard to see their facial expression there... As it's from Korean TV show, Forestella Queen's best songs compilation video might be harder than that one to publish through copyright claims, but it includes the very first performed Bohemian Rhapsody by Forestella in Immortal Songs; a kind of remake rendition competition show for legendary musicians. This Bad Romance was also performed in Immortal Songs, King of Kings episode which invites the winners from each episode during the first half of the year to compete. Forestella won their 4th King of Kings trophy with this Bad Romance. If you'd like to check the bass's impactful performance more, their Shape of you will impress you. (Forestella made me LOVE the song even though I didn't like the original so much..) Another recommendation for your joyful surprise, My Favorite Things & Smooth Criminal. Both will surprise you in a good way ;) Actually Forestella will never disappoint you! When you react to their covers, please check the original first, then see Forestella's twist on it. You must try and do a reaction to a bass singer call Geoff castellucci his range is phenomenal and I have a background in music and I have never heard a bass like that in my life. I suggest you start with the song called "far away on the misty mountains cold" from the Hobbit and then go to his cover of the famous song sixteen tons. You'll hear a human singing in the 1st octave. A G#1 if I'm not mistaken.

There is another thing that you should know: Geoff sings all four parts himself and each part is sung wearing a different costume. He then merges the 4 videos into one to make it seem like there are 4 different people singing. Spectacular costume design by his wife and video editing by his team. The first video I watched of your channel was your reaction to diana's "Can't Help Falling in Love. I have seen many reactions to that video and some people have dissected her voice or her technique but many have failed to talk about the sheer effect that her voice has on a listener. I have seen many reactors completely unmoved by that terrific chest voice timbre of hers in the last part of the song. I fail to see how that can fail to effect people. When I saw your reaction to that last verse of hers I realised that you had a soul that truly appreciates and is moved by music. Keep it up!
