People who really loved and love MJ and followed his career know what you're talking about ... Many fans think that the comparison is bad, because all the time he is being compared, but nobody says that he is not original, he makes tributes in each (fucking) MV to MJ but with his own style and that's what makes Taemin unique. People who get mad about it don't even understand the concept of music and dance that Taemin does. I am so Happy and proud when people who know about music and dance can see something of MJ in him, because he works a lot , and he is such a talented person that is perfect when someone says "look it's like MJ" , "Taemin is Korean MJ" or "he has MJ's vibe ",that was the first reaction that I had when I saw it for the first time and with this i know that i'm in the good side of the street ... I do like that Taemin is doing his tribute ( as did Jonghyun in the white pin striped suit, and “Love Like Oxygen” song) I do too - Michael would have loved all of these groups . I dont know about anyone else but every time he releases new content he never fails to impress, there was so phrases that reminded so much of his previous music videos “Danger”, “Press Your Number”, “WANT” and “Famous” I dont know where to start. He promised us he would record this dance practice and upload it after his radio appearance that day and he did. When I watched it and I saw him do that move I immediately remembered the dance in MJ-Thriller. He's definitely paying tribute to MJ and I love it. ^_^ Taemin is a really smooth dancer, singer and just an all around excellent artist. Thanks Monq. For me this is the best of the best Taemin's comeback. Because he managed to prove that he is not only a great dancer, but he is also a great singer and actor. I still remember in the past Taemin always said he really liked popping dance, and on variety shows he always said he wanted to sing. Look at him now, his singing and dancing skills especially in this song is extraordinary. How he could hit the low notes and especially the high notes with different style. Maybe in the past he only knew popping dance, but now he has become a professional dancer by mastering other types of dance, and i love how his confident facial expressions, especially his eyes are like hypnotizing you, as if saying pay attention only to him. When he's on the stage, he has superstar aura around him, as if the stage is only belongs to him. I wish Taemin could watch your reaction about him, i'm sure he definitely will love it.

Ahh, I wasn't expecting you to react to the behind-the-scenes footage too! That churros and coffee truck was actually sent to Taemin by Minho! Jokingly Taemin did some gagging noises over the sweet/cheesy messages from Minho on the banners, ahaha! You missed it but he also pointed out the paper sleeves (for the cups) that had messages on it as well calling Taemin 'Baby Cheese' from Minho. :) ps: I love that you did a little bonus re-reaction to SHINee at the end! I think that the people who gets tired of the comparisons between Taemin and Michael Jackson are those who are actually not even familiar with MJ at all. Like it's impossible to not see it if you watched his performances even once. And personally, before being a Taemin fan I was and still am a Michael Jackson fan and Koharu Sugawara fan (Taemin's choreographer). To compare Taemin and Michael Jackson does not mean Taemin doesn't has his own colour. The thing is that the same way Michael Jackson is the result of James Brown inspiration, Taemin is the result of MJ inspiration. And you see, over time, it's very rare to stan the same person for years and years however even if Taemin debuted 12 years ago, even last year, so pretty recently in 2019, when asked who is his role model, Taemin still answered Michael Jackson and SHINee without any hesitation.

The KING is back!! You're right, he mentioned in his Vlive that he did plagiarised some of SHINee's choreographies like the handcuff part was from Lucifer. SHINee are kings of plagiarising themselves. Its so heartwarming to see his hyungs supporting him no matter where they are; Onew was with him during the MV shoot and when Minho sent the coffee and churros truck to him, and both of them watched and commented on his Vlive and Key promoted him on instagram. Taemin is the Korean Micheal Jackson for not only his love for the legend but his ability to channel MJ's spirit in his moves

Key is an amazing dancer! He is a strong and sharp dancer. Bit in contrast to Taemin. I personally fell in love with Jonghyun dancing first before anyone else. He has so much style and swag which is so distinct. He would hit hard choreography while singing high notes and leading choruses! 💙💙

If/when you see the live performance of SHINee's "Odd Eye" and their MV for "Get the Treasure" you will discover that Taemin has stolen Key's eye patch for his "Criminal" MV. ;P We already know that Taemin has literally broken into Key's house while Key is in the military and borrowed his clothes, so I guess he must have also borrowed his eye patch, LOL. (J/K this eye patch is slightly different than Key's. But, you can see that he and/or his stylists had the same idea. :D) Yes, Taemin's backup dancer are often the same backup dancers he has had for years. It's hard to find dancers that can keep up with Taemin, and so when they do, SM holds on to them for as long as they can and they are used as dancers for his MVs, as well as his dancers for concerts. As you saw, "2 Kids" is sort of a B-side song. It's a pre-release single from Taemin's Never Gonna Dance Again album And "Criminal" is his promotional song for Act 1 of the album. This is a 2 part album with an Act 1 and Act 2. As Taemin said in an interview: "The two acts put together tell a story. ‘2 KIDS’ is about growing pains and depicts the story prior to the story in the album. You can think of "2 Kids" as a teaser before the movie called 'Never Gonna Dance Again.' Act 1 shows a new side of me. I think it’ll be something you’ve never seen in K-pop before. And Act 2 is the end-all-be-all. It’s the ultimate level of intensity. ‘Never Gonna Dance Again was originally the name of the concept. Because it doesn’t make sense for me to stop dancing. But I wanted to give a sense of rebellion with the irony of the title.” You could have changed the subs to English in the behind the sense video.I think it was just set on Korean, but if you go into the gear icon you can change it to English. Rewatch it with English subs so you know what he is saying. It will help you to understand the whole theme of this album and comeback. The Chero cart was sent to him by a group of Shawols. Fans often will pool their money and rent food trucks or send their Kpop artists or groups food when they know they are working on a project. That is why the truck is decked out with Taemin themed signs, etc. Fans go all out to support their groups and members. And that is why Key is know as SHINee's second dancer and the group's dance copy machine. Key is actually the member that can remember the choreography the fastest and is the first to master the moves out of everyone, including Taemin. He only needs to see a dance once and he has it memorized. That is why he can pretty much win at any random dance or girl group dance competition and why even on the first try he can often dance the choreography better then the original dancers. He even knows everyone's parts in their songs. He doesn't just memorize his parts. It is also why he is so good at languages because he can remember proper pronunciation and vocabulary easily.

Make all the MJ references you want Monq I'm here for it! Your Number is what got my mom hooked with SHINee. From a choreographers point of view I get that robotic and repetitive comment. The creativity in the movements that vary every one count and can be fluid is what makes it interesting and unpredictable. Coming from concert dance I get moved when they can be so coordinated like concert/classically trained dancers and excel in presenting many genres of dance. Their training is insane and someone like Taemin (adding Kai, Ten, Jimin I'm sure there's others) take it another step and create a signature. They literally can be given any challenge! Definitely steps outside the box from what society thinks of a pop artist or boyband. Add vocals, lyrics with relatable meaning and visuals on top..I'm sold. These guys work hard!

You can hear Jinki laughing while Taemin makes fake vomiting noises at Minho's food truck. XD That kid, I swear! Oh, Minho also put Taemin's nickname on the cupsleeve - Baby Cheese! (so nicknamed by Minho in ep 4 of SHINee's Back) Kaspar (Kim Taewoo, EXO's choreographer) and Sugawara Koharu were the choreographers, and I think it's too obviously a shoutout to MJ. I fear that new fans - people checking him out from SuperM - won't understand that this is an homage (Criminal was called an 'Absolute Thriller' in the teasers), not him copying MJ. For me, I feel like I can see where Koharu has influence and where Kaspar has influence. I love Taemin's elegance, his confidence, his speed while dancing. Only SHINee can match his swagger - Jonghyun in particular. One of the things I love about Taemin's background dancers is that the women are rarely treated as objects. They're dancers, dammit, and they're gonna DANCE! You might think the concert versions of Slave are the exceptions, but the truth is that he's the object in Slave, heh.

Only half way through your reaction vid (awesome, btw), but wanted to provide you some assistance with the CC you said was only in Korean. If you press the CC button to turn it on, then go to the settings option right next to it (cogwheel), select "Subtitles", then select "auto-generated" on the new window. It will give you a list of languages to choose from, just scroll down to "English." It won't be a perfect translation, but you will have a decent idea of what they are saying.

I have to change it for all videos that don't have the CC in English. btw - I think I was too quick on that "decent idea of what they are saying" - sometimes it's garbage. And, it doesn't work on MVs that aren't set up for English translation.

Key had auditioned SM by dancing, so he was regarded as a good dancer from the start. Taemin has said interviews that MJ is his biggest inspiration .... and ultimately became a dancer because he saw Michael and since debut said he wanted to be as great as him. He auditioned because Michael inspired him. Shoot even in early SHINee Taemin danced to Michael Jackson songs on music programs.... so I don't know how much of a Shawol that individual claims to be 🤔
