The more is always adult beverages...
I don't know if you can tell or not but this was my first time skiing... I asked Honey Pizza if you could use our Osmo Action camera to get those fast, quick cuts with lots of flashes and make it look like one of those GoPro promo videos... Well this is what we got - you get what you get around here.
We went to Wintergreen Ski Resort - just outside of Charlottesville, Virginia. We rented all of our equipment at the resort even though the prices were a little high simply for the convenience. Spending two days up on the mountains really made me feel old and out of shape. Even though the bunny hill costs extra, don't get me started on that... I was sliding down the mountain pretty good by the end of our trip. I never left the green hills but Pizza was going down Black Diamond slopes after a few warmups. It is quite the difference between ski levels in Wintergreen, even she was a little shocked the difference between a green and a blue. The tubing hills were lots of fun and they move FAAASSTTT. Honey Pizza tried snowboarding but it's just not her thing - I'm not dumb enough to even try that so I stayed far away.
We went to different wineries and breweries every night - First up was Flying Fox Vineyard in Afton, VA. It was a quiet Tuesday afternoon lunch time wine tasting. They have a nice deck area out front and a very nice lounge area.
Veritas Vineyard and Winery wasn't bad either. The vibe was a little different - It was definitely a higher end establishment then I would normally go to but it gets great reviews and I can understand why. I just seems more like a wedding venue that also happens to serve wine during the day then anything else...
Bold Rock Hard Cider was amazing and should be top of the '"things to do" lists - Cider was top notch, food was great although a very basic menu but the view and backyard - MIND BLOWN. I wish this place wasn't so far away from us so we could come back when everything isn't dead outside in the winter. We tried a cider flight and the Hard Tea - all tasted great.
