My First Time Watching Beaches 1988 Movie Reaction
----------------------------------------------------------------
Hey guys! Today we will be watching Beaches with Bette Midler. I've never seen it, although I was born in 1980 and have had plenty of time! Get your tissues ready, it's a sad one!
When the New York child performer CC Bloom and San Francisco rich kid Hillary meet in a holiday resort in Atlantic City, it marks the start of a lifetime friendship between them. The two keep in touch through letters for a number of years until Hillary, now a successful lawyer moves to New York to stay with struggling singer CC. The movie shows the various stages of their friendship and their romances including their love for the same man.

I am so nervous posting this 🤣 it's been sat in my drafts for about a week... I've never done a movie reaction before and I guess it's like a bandage... I just need to rip it off in one go and stop being so scared! Anyway, NO idea why I picked this one. It broke my heart. Please let me know if you enjoyed and if you have any other movies you'd like to see me watch! I don't like horror and I'm sorta into a lot of older stuff (80s and 90s) for some reason 🤭 Um... Okay, I'm going to run away now!

Jules...sweetheart, you are such a lovely person. For a woman as young and beautiful as you are...you are also very wise...and deep. I need to heal...I've lost my Mum and I'm laid up with a surgery...and I'm an actor that was on the teen shows in the 90s. I literally did a CeCe on the set of Days of Our Lives, the character that plays Eve (Charlotte) was talking to her dialogue coach...we were blocking a scene....and my wardrobe/makeup helper handed me a note...and I walked. No explanation. Now, I bought my Mum this house. My brother didn't go to jail, Everything was still not fine. My mum was abused as a child...and in her 40s to the end she had the "events" I knew her by heart...and she wasn't always nice...but, she was a good Mum. I grew up with my grandmother....her mum. She was a maid for one of the Kennedy family's and that old time movie accent, Cary Grant, Kate Hepburn, Bette Davis...those last 2 actress grew up near my home...I lived in 3 rooms with my grandmother...and the kitchen stove heated our place. My grandmother and the Kennedy family all this proper Bostonian accent...you know? So, I'm the only blond out of 6 kids...I was the first and it wasn't safe in the family home...Nothing was more important to me than my family....and I showed up and I took a path that I didn't chose in life....but, there was no question. Of course I did it. Now, my stepsiblings are trying to evict my spouse and I from the house i bought my Mum...I've been paying debt....via my Mum... I said, Mum...this is too much....I'm never going to need this much....I sold my townhouse in Beverly Hills in a buyers market...I cashed in on a lump sum residual buy out. And I'm sick...and they are coming. And my guy is scared. I wish I still had a CeCe....she's in Los Angeles...and Joan, (k) is not well....so, this is my therapy. thanks for your videos....it's like watching a show with a pal.. much love, max

What you are blessing us with movie reactions miss juliette? Wow so many old horror movies I want you to watch! xD I mean, I don't know what you've seen. Can your horror tolerance handle Ghostbusters from 1984? It's not too scary, more a romance/comedy, but it has some horror elements because ghosts. But would be a great reaction! Two of my old childhood movies that would be fun for you to watch if you haven't seen it already is 'the neverending story' and 'labyrinth', both eighties movies. That would be special to me.

Good movie selection for you, and you did a fine job reacting. This movie was a first time watching for me, too. I still like how you halt the shows, when you want to comment, it just seems the right thing to do, to not miss a scene, or a word. Excellent. I know you have a little note somewhere, from when I suggested Tom Hanks, in Road to Perdition, a gangster film. You may want to wait a bit with that, what with all the gangster things you have going on now, but there are lots of good movies out there. One, which I have not seen, but people have good things to say about it, The Lake House, from 2006, a remake of a Korean film. A good story, good cast, it's listed as a drama/fantasy/romance, with Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves. Or, you could try Speed, if you've not seen it, also Bullock and Reeves. And again, sticking with Sandra Bullock, The Net, about computer criminality. A comedy, which never gets old, My Cousin Vinny. You might like. There are many to choose from, that's just my two cents. But you are doing just fine on your own. Beautiful job, another thoughtful reaction. 👏😊👏
@julesreacts
@julesreacts 2 жыл бұрын
Ahhhh yes, Road To Perdition! I remember you mentioning that one. It's actually on Disney, so that makes it even better. The Lake House also sounds great! Thank you! I think I have seen Speed or maybe just know bits of it... I certainly recall the famous line "There's a bomb on the bus" so maybe that's all I know 😅 You've been a great help and they are all written down now 💜 I am curious how reactions go when someone watching (in this case, yourself) hasn't seen it before. I wish I could put the whole thing there but no one seems to do that, so I follow suit and edit it down to the most "reactionable" parts. Heck, I'm just guessing here and playing it by ear 😉 I didn't really think that a reaction would be watchable if someone hasn't seen it as there's just SO much I can't put in there, so please do let me know! I'd love some feedback on that, Tom!
@tomswift3482
@tomswift3482 2 жыл бұрын
Well, obviously I didn't get the full brunt of the script, or scenes, but your editing did a good enough job of making sure to focus on the "high points" of the movie to give a good feel of the story. You displayed the fundamental characters well enough to know them, and you included enough of the highs and lows, as well as glimpses into the reasons behind those conflicts and celebrations, to follow their trials and tribulations very easily. I gathered that their whole lives and their friendship, was more of the same. Up and downs, back and forth, but their bond won through in the end, that all the rest was, when viewed as a big picture, just human pettiness, but heartfelt emotional episodes because they both did care so deeply for the bond, even if they did not always recognize it. In a way, it is like editing a game, except here it is all exposition and conversation, you have no filler with fighting, shooting, and chaos. It takes a much finer hand to successfully tell the story through highlights, but I feel that you included enough for me to understand, and appreciate, the film. 💜 A very good job, for your first movie, and I think you will only get better, as you get more comfortable with the task. 💜 You did mention you've seen many Tom Hanks films, does that include The Green Mile? If not, another one for your consideration.

do you want movie suggestions? .. Alita Battle Angel. James Cameron's personal project. After reading the manga Battle Angel Alita (1990) he bought the rights. The tech to implement the movie wasn't ready til recently. (Some of the ideas in the manga have been used in movies in the years between.) It's set in a dystopian future. A mysterious city in the sky dumps garbage into the squalid city remains below. A doctor scavenging for cyborg parts discovers a cyborg head with a living brain inside. (He scavenges for parts to repair the cyborgs (essentially human but with robot parts) that come to him for .. um ... repairs.) He puts the head on a body and names her Alita. The story is basically about Alita dramatically discovering who she really is (in essence, i reckon it's the story of a girl growing up disguised as a sci fi movie) The tone of the movies is more old fashioned and immersed in characters and character development than the spectacle focussed Marvel Superhero movie

It’s weird to see a younger person react to this movie. You obviously have no idea who Bette Midler is. Or any of the actors. It’s just weird to me cause I was taught about cinema. I guess that’s gone now. Glad you loved the movies tho. Can I suggest ‘For The Boys’ and ‘The Rose’

Oh that's a strange thing to say. I'm 42 years old and don't think of myself as young. I know who Bette Midler is 🤣 I just haven't seen this movie before.
