I tend to like the "fair" route of commander decks, but a lot of this stuff seems really spicy for that. It’s prerelease pricing, it drops about 50% in a week or two. The Boar only maintains its price if Red/Green becomes a deck. Without a bomb in hand, it’s an “undying” 6/6 trampler without haste.

There are rumors of patterns like"finale boxes" and "god boxes". Meaning one box will get one of the full mythic cycles. I got a finale box, myself, and a Lili as a 6th mythic. Its odd but i dont see anyone complaining.

The "watered-down" Planeswalkers are the best enchantments that MTG has put to print in years....and then they have some cool activated abilities for giggles. There's going to be talk of banning some of those later....some of them are really powerful, even down in the uncommon slot.

I too agree that cardstock quality of the box I oppened was nice. Way better than what was printed in the last two-three years. I'm glad they seemed to work to fix this issue.

I was roughly keeping track of the UC Plainswalkers, Rares, Mythics, and any holos. Box 1 was about $190.43 in pulls and box 2 was about $165.16 in pulls, excluding any bulk commons and uncommons. Seems like a good box to buy in terms of value. Especially if the patron is getting such a great deal.

I love how much Rudy get impressed with Seb McKinnon arts in the recent sets without apparently knowing that each art he praised are from the same artist. Seb should be proud because I like a lot is arts too. I find that is style and imagery convey originality, feelings and emotions, which is a rare thing.

So we have now had a set that had a legendary in every pack (Dominaria) and now one with a Planeswalker in every pack (War). I am calling it now and we are going to get one on the near horizon that has a bunch of new non-basic land cycles and each pack will include one of those. Sure the Ravnica blocks all contain gates, but this will be some sort of special marketing point of having probably watered down versions of some of our favorite non-basic land cycles and then maybe fetches as the chase lands.
