Vinyl flooring has come a LONG way from yrs ago. My daughter and son in law just put vinyl plank flooring in their bathroom from Costco. It's beautiful and perfect for a bathroom, totally waterproof. I would be wary of Lumber Liquidators. They had class action lawsuits a few yrs back from their vinyl plank flooring emitting large amounts of formaldehyde, it was a dangerous level. I'm so happy you're sharing you're renovations in your new home with us!

I show cabins on my job. So there is alot of traffic the multicolor with gray beige and white absolutly shows less dirt. My office has a darker color it shows every thing. Both are nice 25 year Warranty. I've been showing cabins for 5 years. Think you will end up liking it.

i like your final choice having to make the faster decision. When we bught this retirement home it had worn pergo or something like that. the very first vinyl floors were more like a magazine picture on small planks. the edges were curled and would cut your bare feet. The walking paths were gray. We also bought this place cash with a short term loan for a few months then fixed and sold the other home. We had profit inthe one we sold so we could buy flooring right away. We chose home depot life proof in trail oak. I tried to gouge, cut, destry the sample. Poured hot coffee on it and left it for days in that in the sun. Not phased. The trail oak is not shiny and is a medium color. The high 8 trussed roof here is pine, not real yellow but not real light either. We also have oak furniture and a few other things in medium color ranges so it goes well with others. It goes with the house built kind of lodge ranch style. as is the entire town. But its an ecclectic mix, artist built home. All the cabinets are more danish modern. They and all the trims are wood, like mission style. but its ok contrast with the warm floors. My parnter and nephew put it in in about 2 and a half days. You start at a corner and cut varous lengths at half and thirds etc. and just dont look to much at the designs so you dont make it look planned. another discussion came up just today about flooring on another video. some didnt know you leave the gap at the walls for movement then hide iwwht the moulding. We left our original moulding as we used the old floor for a base. then added a small strip to cover. A person said they had to pull up their enitre floor when they had not left the gaps at the wall. for movement, expansion in warmer weather etc. just info for anyone.

I noticed the floor you chose was 4mm. That is REALLY thin. I’m afraid it’s going to look cheap and have that clackity-clack of cheap flooring. I would 100% wait for the floor I wanted, but that’s just me. I’d rather do without than settle. Lol I’m weird.

I love the Flooret flooring. I really want to remove my living room carpet and put down vinyl plank flooring but I want a very durable flooring for my busy family and pets. I want a flooring with a 40mil/ 1 mm wear layer and that's what Flooret has. Thank you for sharing this! Do you have any idea how long it takes for the order to arrive? I noticed a lot of the flooring is out of stock.

In my home We tiled all the same earth tone tile throughout kinda like Olive Garden style lol.,but changed pattern in the rooms by turning directions bordering, and different sizes combinations. My husband did an amazing job. I love the boards you picked ,you have a good eye and great taste.

Great info! We have used that kind of flooring in our basement craft room my husband made for me in Michigan, and in our whole house in Florida, except for the same tiled floor you have in our bathrooms. Loved both of them. So practical and nice looking.

Julie, I too am passionate about luxury vinyl!! My brother is a contractor, and he's using this stuff in everything from cottages to million dollar homes. I was so down on my hardwood. It was scratched, dull, faded, so I literally covered it with luxury vinyl. I kept the ceramic tile in my kitchen and laundry room, because it has held up nicely, but I can't tell you how much I love my vinyl! The color you picked is lovely.

I understand about living in chaos in a new home and wanting to get things done ASAP, especially with 4 kids. I like the flooring you chose. If you don't plan on living there long term then I would think that's find and it's a pretty floor. We just bought a fully remodeled home and it has all wood plank tile throughout the whole house and I love it. Sweep and mop and it looks cohesive. Either way, remodeling is so fun and exciting, can't wait to see what you do next.

Julie, I would have made the same flooring choice you did. Your not planning on living there forever and even tho it isn't your first choice and you basically settled for liquidators you can get moved in, get things back to a little bit of normalcy and move on. I would have done the same. We are putting flooring down in September. Not what we love but something down to make this house more saleable. Our plan is to put our house on the market Spring 2022. Then in the new place we purchase, we can get the flooring we really want, which will be the vinyl planking. Great choice.

Julie, as an interior designer I love mixing wood tones in flooring! I think it gives a lot more movement and personality to what is otherwise a boring surface. I would have combined the 3 sample tones you chose as your favorites and mixed them up throughout your house!! I know that look isn’t for everyone but, hey…my interiors are very unique 😉 Love your videos ❤️

Awe man, this dang pandemic has messed up so much stuff. My son is a general contractor/roofer and the shortages of everything has definitely caused him some problems. I hate that you're having to compromise on what you really want, but I sure do understand it. With your babies being at an age to still be a handful, I know you want to just get it done and get back to some normalcy. If anyone can make the cheaper flooring look great, it is you! If you have time, check out the flooring at Sam's! We did my last house from there and it was so pretty, thick with its own pad, and you just go and get the amount you need! (just realized it's not vinyl, but they may have vinyl now!)

I’m surprised lumber liquidator did not have a better option for you. When I remodeled my duplex, ( after removing all the thresholds!) I purchased from lumber liquidators a beautiful quality floor that was the same quality as the Flooret brand. But the good news is that it is my understanding that with the underlayment the flooring that you are purchasing iwill still hold up very well. But I am with you vinyl plank is the Way to go! I love mine.

I getting ready to change out my flooring downstairs to vinyl and both bathrooms upstairs. Like you, I agree it looks better when the flooring is the same throughout. I’m really struggling with what color to choose. Those samples they gave you are too small to really tell what it will look like in a large space. Excited too see how it turns out.

They are small 😒. Look at pictures online of the flooring as well. Seeing it in a whole rooms helps as well even if it's online

Julie, be careful with lumber liquidators. I put down floor from them & had trouble with it. Maybe it was the one I got. Later on got a settlement from them because others got same settlement. Class settlement. Not but little money. Under 100.00

We put in vinyl plank flooring a few years ago. I hate it! It scratches and just has me scared whenever I need to move furniture or someone accidentally moves a couch etc, and yes we have pads under every stinkin' piece of furniture, so they slide all over. I also desperately miss carpets in my bedrooms. Plank flooring is nasty for kids rooms. Carpet is so much more cozy for playing on the floor.

I did research too and I feel BJS wholesale has some great flooring 14mm and it is in stock. They had tons of boxes in all colors last time I went. I know Memphis has a BJs ! Or Sam’s club. Thank you for sharing your flooring choices with us but Please reconsider your flooring choice. You don’t want to go with less than 12 mm. It is going to squeak and not lay nice.

We live in a rancher in California with our living and family rooms being a small single step down slab floors, with the rest being a raised foundation. We hope to renovate in the near future…being to consider the thought of one flooring throughout. Thank you for the info on Flooret. Curious what brand/product you used in your Louisiana home that you enjoyed so much?

Julie, it's your house and your decision but I think you are rushing things unnecessarily. Just my opinion but think about this....you guys gutted it out in a trailer to save up for your first home and you guys got the home you wanted. You can gut it out for what? A month maybe two and get exactly what you want! You can bring in the furniture you want and have the flooring guys scoot it aside to lay down the floor. We did it in my mom's house and that was 3500 Sq. Ft. Julie, GET THE FLOOR YOU WANT!

well i'm worried that 1-2 months will turn into 3-4. everything is slow and companies hope things will be in at a certain time but its really out of there control. i really want to get this house straight and comfortable as soon as possible.

@@JuliesDesignsandSigns You are right about things not arriving on schedule but if they know you are promoting their product to the public by way of your 45K viewers I would imagine they would do everything in their power to get the product to you as promised to avoid any bad press. I may be wrong but it's what I would do in their position even if I had to pay a freight expeditors to ship your order. Maybe you should also consider which flooring will give you the best resale value.
