We're actually doing this! The magicians at Mountune are about to ramp my project red Focus RS up to around 500hp... Can you imagine what this is going to be like?! The conversion will take a month or two, so stayed tuned for updates along the way.

I quite agree, but I really like the look of the carbon fiber. My solution would be to paint the bonnet from the A-Pillar forward, but just the bit between the crease of the bonnet & the front wing. That would result in a much more integrated look, I believe.

Only thing missing on the car is some nice matching RED PAINT on the bonnet,keep the vents unpainted.

The black bonnet looks horrible and the wheels don't go with anything else on the car - painting them black may help. The only RS in the garage that didn't look tacky was the blue RS. It will be interesting to see what differences the engine modifications make.

Incredible Tim - fantastic to see you modifying the RS - can’t wait to see this monster unleashed - I modified and built my own Saab 9-5 up to 461bhp and it’s the best laugh ever - 19 years old, big old barge, ultimate sleeper and nobody has a clue what it’s capable of - the only thing standard is the interior, although from the outside aside from the wheels it looks standard! Ok so the RS is much more shouty but with 500bhp - Shout Away Sir! - Best of luck with it - all the best! 👍👍👍👍

A hot hatch and 500 hp spells a lot of fun. Since you mention coming to Germany and the Nürburgring, you might want to visit HGP Turbo and check out their Golf R Mark 7.5 with a twin Turbo 3.6 Liter V6, Audi RS3 Seven Speed DSG transmission and upwards of 740 HP.Taking hot hatches to a new level, while retaining every day drivability. I agree with other comments to paint the bonnet on your RS.

Btw, you're missing the carbon fiber RS Air Box cover upgrade, a matching washer fluid cap and matching fluid caps. You can also swap out the cheesy and cheap hood releases to ones that are anodized aluminum. Just other dress up mods that'll really make the car pop.

I like the carbon hood. I think wrapping the red A pillars and continuing the wrap covering all the red above the doors back to the spoiler would improve the look. Where the hood and A pillar meet looks odd. Of course the challenge will be to find a wrap the matches the carbon hood.

I think what's really highlighted how bad the carbon fiber bonnet looks to so many people is just how nice the Mountune RS looked next to yours. In my opinion it really needs the bonnet painting red. It's similar to how your Ford GT looks next to the silver one at Topaz, yours looks so much better as the red accentuates all the details.

Rarely comment it here we go....paint each side of the bonnet body colour. The connecting lines from the A pillar down across the top of the front wings. Means we can keep he awesome carbon bonnet but make it look like it was born there.

@@Shmee150 Yes that little run from the A12 into Brentwood is a really nice, flowing road :) It's lovely on a summer evening after the rush hour. If on the way back you turn right at the little roundabout before the bigger A12 roundabout, the roads run through some lovely countryside and little villages. I know a lot of people, myself included, find it easy to take the rise out of Essex but it does have it's nice spots.
