Jim, I cannot tell you how much I have gotten out of your tutorials. They have taught me so much and have improved not only my editing skills but also my photo-taking as it pertains to composition and overall camera work. Have you considered sharing the photos/files that you are working on in your sessions with us so that we can follow along as you change/adjust the photo?

Po zakupie Luminara Neo szukałem bloga o praktycznej pracy na tym programie. Kiedy trafiłem tutaj oglądam każdy film i uważam, że jest to najlepszy blog na ten temat. Dziękuje i pozdrawiam, Mirek.

That is a masterclass in massaging the light, the linear gradient and exposure drop along the top of the sky to help frame the shot was brilliant, thanks Jim.

G'day Jim As we say in Australia,'What a bonzza (fabulous) example of perfect edit! I like your method of adjusting the contrast rather than exposure... that is a brilliant method. Why didn't you use Golden Hour again? Greg 👍
@JimNix3 ай бұрын
hi Greg and thanks so much, and I do love Golden Hour but just didn't need it on this one, as the golden tones were already pretty rich overall - thanks!

Hi Jim. As always great teaching. Did you just shoot one photo or did you bracket? What were your camera settings in all cases? I assume you did no focus stacking.
@JimNix3 ай бұрын
Hi there and yes I did fire brackets although I chose to edit a single exposure here. This one was shot at f/22, 1/25 sec, ISO 100, and 16mm. Thanks.

Hi Jim, I love your editing workflow. Quick Question for you, whenever I select objects in masking and try to add some more light to the selected mask, I usually get a halo effect around the object, how can we get rid of that?
@JimNix3 ай бұрын
Hi there and thanks. That happens because the object mask is not "perfect" along the edge, so the difference in brightness shows up. So you can do two things: tone down the overall adjustment so that the difference isn't as great, or (perhaps more helpfully) use a brush mask at 30-40% opacity and swipe it along those edges, which is sort of like adding a gradient edge to the object mask. Hope that helps!
