I really appreciate how Crystal helps guide the stories without taking over and speaks respectfully about their kids’ bio parents. They seem very levelheaded and respectful of their adoptive kids’ pasts, while also addressing and validating their traumas. I love that!

I think savannah should do her story again once she gets a little older, I feel like since she’s young she looks at things a lot differently then she will when she’s older so it may be something you’ll want to retouch on so feelings don’t resurface

It’s a very critical part of foster care and adoption, particularly for children whose plan is to reunify. Because bad mouthing birth families can often lead the children to feel as though something is wrong with them. (We talked about it quite a bit in our foster parent licensing class.)

She is literally getting paid to do this. This isn’t brave they are using her story to make money. Will this poor girl be able to live with herself as an adult when anyone can google her name and know her whole story, including her patients and employers. Does that matter to crystal and Aaron? No money matters to them, that’s why they bought a mansion. They will never stop exploiting these poor already traumatized kids. They should be shunned not celebrated.

I think that Savannah could look like shy but she is always aware of the situation like taking care of everyone around there. Shes is stronger than she seems. And its fantastic seeing how she is gaining more confidence and how is able to choose what to wear. I think she feels relief and safety with no one judging her. I apreciate that she told her story. I feel like while it’s nice to acknowledge that controlling what your female family members wear comes from a place that is ‘protective’. It contributes to victim blaming and the idea that what you wear brings danger to you. It’s always the person that brings the danger you can be ‘perfectly’ dressed and still be treated poorly or assaulted. Also, I think male family members need this message that they do not have any control over the way others dress or behave any more than your female family member would have.

So special to have seen savannahs and lukas come into themselves and find their places in the family, I have always loved the freedom Crystal and Aaron give their children, they talk openly to all the kids about past and potential trauma, the way that savannahs has her nails done and is wearing makeup, the fact that she can express herself however she needs to and crystal and Aaron are just there to support her, and all the kids. As a mother I adore the way Crystal and Aaron parents, the children are an absolute testament to that Big love crazy pieces 💙💜🕉️

I am glad that the kids have shared their stories because it demonstrates how confusing and life altering being in an environment that ultimately leads to foster care or DHS being involved. The kids are so little that they generally rely on others to try to make sense out of later on.

This was so beautiful ! Crystal and Savannah were both finishing each other’s sentences. I live less than a mile from Disneyland and 20 minutes from the beach. I worked at Disneyland from 1980 to 1985.

I find your family a great way to relax, unwind and appreciate what I have and that there are people who can adopt so many kids. I'm glad that you found your forever home where you know that you will always be loved and supported. I think you would be great as a doctor or nurse or anything you decide on. I can see you in a 'care giver' job. As I say to my boys, I just want you to be in a job that you can be passionate about.
