I always wondered this; why are people worried about cleanliness of doe foot applicators on a foundation but not a concealer? I always think stick foundations seem the least cleanly to me since you're constantly swiping on your face, seems all the same to me haha I would love to know your opinion.

Megan Rosenbery foundations with pumps are the best, I never got the whole doe foot applicator or even the applicator of the maybelline rewind sanitary problems tbh it's the same as putting your finger in a jar or using a stick foundation etc

Lol and how the maybelline age rewind gets crap for the sponge on the end....but the tarte shape tape gets love for its huge doe foot...what's the difference?! lol it's so funny! I don't worry too much since if I'm putting makeup on, my face is clean. (But admittedly I'm not especially prone to break outs so maybe I wouldn't understand).

Well, your face produces a lot of oils while your undereyes specifically do not so theres more of a chance of contamination with a foundation which is spread over a large area. Either way, I always wash my face before makeup so cleanliness with my applicators isnt really a worry of mine since I know my face is clean

Megan Rosenbery hi, I don't know why people worry at all. As long as they store the products away from dust and sunlight; wash their hands well before starting a makeup application; and apply the products to a clean face, it really doesn't matter what sort of applicator is used. All cosmetics have preservatives to prevent bacteria growth and I'm sure the chemists and manufacturers take into account the method of delivery. I love my 'Clinique Beyond Perfection' and my 'Revlon Colourstay Whipped'...never had a problem. :)

You should give the Lancôme Teint Miracle a try!! Great for dry sensitive acne prone skin but actually has coverage (and it has a pump). That with my Armani Luminous Silk powder on top is the perfect combo!

Hana Non I'm super pale and my skin tone is neutral leaning yellow and thankfully I have great color matches within this line!! Not too pink or super yellow, which is rare because the lighter colors are usually super pink in other ranges. The lightest shade 005 is neutral and the second lightest is neutral/warm so if that's any indication you should find a good match in this foundation! The Giorgio Armani Silk Luminous Powder (which I could serious never use another powder again so it's so worth the price tag) gives a little bit of coverage but doesn't look heavy or cakey at all and doesn't accentuate dry patches which is a miracle! The shades run slightly more yellow I'd say but not so much that anyone couldn't use it. Hope this helps!!!

My ultimate fav foundation is the Clinique Even Better foundation -- it's a really nice light-medium coverage foundation with a ton of shades & I think it would be really good for a lot of skin types!!

My favourite high end foundations for dry skin are the too faced born this way and the tarte rainforest of the sea :) both are medium to full coverage and are hydrating on the skin.

Look up reviews people have made on your skin type and find a couple of foundations you're really interested in. You can ask sephora for samples on them so you can find the one you really want and test them out different ways to see which one works best for you :)

I have pretty normal skin but this winter is kicking my butt & my skin has been SO dry! I've been using the ABH foundation stick to spot conceal instead of using it all over. I use my Cover Rx drops to make my more light to medium foundations be more "full" coverage and it works so well for me. I use it quite often, as I have a lot of pigmentation issues, however I completely understand that most people don't have as many issues in that area, as I do. If you do, though, i highly recommend this product.

The Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation is my favorite full coverage by far. It literally will not budge and you don't have to use too much product either. The L'Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation is my favorite for everyday wear! It just sets on the skin so nicely!

Hey love! Sephora employee here. A great tip for Nars foundations-- they are meant to be applied with your fingers. I wouldn't recommend that for almost any other foundation, but Nars designs their formulas to be applied by hand. I used to hate Nars foundations, too, but once I applied them with my fingers they worked really well for me! Something to try :)

You guys have to try Marcelle flawless! It's such a great drugstore foundation. I have very dry acne prone skin. This foundation is a good medium coverage, lasts a long time, does not irritate my skin or cling to my dry patches.

Chiara ! hi, I don't like it either. Some people like the smell but it makes me feel sick and it lingers all day, I hate it. The colour range is terrible but some people are lucky enough to find a match. It also only lasts 2 hours on my skin (and I'm really dry) even when I set it with a powder. I just use it for the sun protection benefits now until I use it up. I won't be repurchasing. Sorry to sound so negative but I wish someone had said this to me before I purchased it. Cheers.

What are your thoughts on the true match lumi? I saw it in your drawer, but we didn't hear anything on it. I used to loveeee it back in the day. But recently tried a sample of Armani's luminous silk and am thinking I NEED it and will most likely buy it, but I've heard so many people say that the two are very very similar and one actually made a claim that true match lumi was actually "80% of the same formula-wise as the Luminous silk" I mean, I don't know if it's a factual claim....but, I'd love to hear what you think!

You should try the Surratt surreal skin foundation wand! It's the only foundation I own and my go to for nights out. It gives a medium coverage but is so natural with a little glow:)

The Josie Maran, Bourjois Healthy Mix, Too Faced Born This Way, and the It cosmetics ones cling to every tiny dry patch on my skin, and they aren't nearly as dewy as I like. The Tarte Rainforest of the Sea does it a bit on me, but not as badly. This was a great video. It was very informative. I wish it had been broken up into multiple video segments though. I found my attention drifting a lot due to the length. lol
