Just now watched this episode and a month ago I also bought a 2011 F-250 King Ranch, long box and the 6.7 diesel with 44500 miles on it. So far I love it, just haven't figured out all the switches yet. In Oregon they don't salt the roads, so we don't have rust problems, unless you live at the beach. The one I have does have the sun roof, but I'm not sure it's ever been opened by previous owner.

I remember in one of Andrew Camarattas videos he said some people go out and spend nearly a 100k on on a nice new truck, and he takes that same money and gets a beater truck, a mini excavator, a skid steer, and a dump truck - fixes them all himself and puts them to work right away.

@@LawnPusher I mean his time is pretty valuable. Whenever people talk about fixing up things "for free" it isn't true. He could bill out for probably 100 bucks an hour or much more here in Canada for a lot of the work he does. Spending dozens of hours getting something working along with the parts you need doesn't always make sense. That said, I love his channel, awesome to see someone so versatile in their skills.

Cameratta is a joke. He shows more videos of repairing things, then actual excavation. And when he does do something, its not done the correct way..or even safely. I mean, who installs a septic system without first getting the local town to do a perk test on the soil? Any person in the excavation trade has more or less given up trying to help him because he cant take criticism. His channel is for John Q. Homeowners that don't know anything about the trade, but see him complete jobs with dirt cheap equipment he found on Facebook marketplace. In reality, you cannot buy the bargain basement equipment and expect to make any sort of money on it in the long haul. This channel is the complete polar opposite. It is pure, uncut professionalism.

I have to admit to smiling when I saw it was a Ford. I spent my entire working life at Ford UK's Research & Engineering Centre (Later renamed Product Development). We heard that Ford US actually lost money on its car sales, but that Truck sales more than made up for it. I can't resist a wee story... We used to get up to 20% discount on new cars, which meant you could always have a new car and barely be out of pocket, so everyone made use of the discount. It meant that at the end of a shift you'd walk out to the car park and see an ocean of Ford vehicles in this years colour, and it was a nightmare trying to locate your own car.

I put on full length electric steps on a Dodge Ram what a difference it makes, no more ankle breakers from the bar steps, plus they hide up under the truck and really gives it a high profile look and they are adjustable for height. That is a nice looking truck you got by the way. Hide the KEY control and get one of those voice control security systems that will record what you want to say anytime if someone touches your vehicle, like stand back or your not driving my truck, you can record anything you want and use it for security on a vehicle, it is a really cool security system, check it out if you ever get the time !

@Dry Creek Cattle Co. Like John Cameron Swayze said in his Timex Ads, it just "keeps on ticking" due to a rock solid design and regular maintenance. If you like simple, reliable performance, there are few better on the market. A million miles on an original 7.3 Liter Super Duty engine is nothing particularly note worthy. There are few engines on the market today that have that kind of record. It takes at least two opinions to make a horse race which means the buyer puts his money on his choice and takes his chances. All you can hope for is "Good Luck & be safe out there..."

@@ford_drivingbuilder4225 you do realize that if the person does NOT have the keyfob within a close distance of the vehicle, it isn't going anywhere, right? It's called a "proximity" device for a reason. Just like any other remote starter - step on the brake or gas, it shuts off the vehicle - been like that since I got my first remote start in '04 for my Durango, with that one you needed to actually turn the key - either way, same concept

@@MikeT-TheRetiredColonel I have seen it happen with a GMC Yukon. The husband was in the driver's seat truck running. He got out his wife went to the grocery store. She bought food and couldn't restart it. I know it's not supposed to happen but it can.

If you want to keep that pretty truck clean I’d recommend getting that thing ceramic coated.

Not sure where you live but I think it's in the same small town as I do. But just wanted to say if that's your house in the background with the wraparound porch. That a beautiful place. Looks very good and something to be proud of.

I think Chris has only had 2 other pickups (Least hes shown on YT) so hes not the type of guy to replace every few years unless forced to. If your goal is to keep a motor 10 plus years then new is probably the best way to do it as its looked after from day 1.

@@HughzieTube It all depends on the size of your operation and the skill of your tax accountant. Many businesses have a gazillion opportunities to leverage the tax code. I once knew a guy who changed machinery well within 10 years. He felt the tax benefits were way too attractive to pass up on.

Tell us more about your dog's condition. I bought a 2004 F-150 new, still have it but the frame really rusted up due to the northeast road salt.

I have one exactly the same. Awesome truck. The only thing I don't like is where the oil filter is. Just be carefull when on a dirt road, the oil filter is behind the passenger tire, real vulnerable spot. Seen oil dripping under the truck in the shop, needless to say ,a stone was tossed up and nicked the oil filter and put a nice hole in it. Needless to say, changed the filter, topped up the oil and been fine since. Freak accident maybe.

You are killing me. I’m looking for a F250 now. I’m going to mount a snow plow but otherwise it will be my work truck/driver. I’m thinking new but not that fancy or expensive. I’m thinking the gas engine because I have a 550 to pull my toys around(Botas-040/b26 and my Tak 230) so I will use it to pull my landscape trailer and dump trailer and for pushing snow. Did you check the local dealers and did one work with you better? Looking an XLT Crew cab 4wd short bed.
