Thank you for the info! I cannot imagine ever ordering a Harvest Right now given your personal experience with the lack of customer service. I own a small business and I know that CS is everything..

Hello, just started to watch your video. Don’t know about you but I’m not happy with my Harvest right FD. Just noticed mine last week doing the same thing, freezing only the back half or less when I ran a batch of skittles. I’m too familiar with the issue since this is the third time this has happed since I bought it, And yes, I regret buying it. Mine is a large with 5 trays and is a major ordeal to repack and ship back. Just sent in a ticket to Harvest Fresh, interested in hearing what they have to say this time around. Subscribed to your channel and will be watching to see what you went through and how things were handled. Thank you.

@@2guysandacooler, feel like I’ve already been in one for a while. Twice serviced and never a leak fixed? Duh, it will happen again.

Used to work at electrolux freezer manufacturing plant, low side foam injected is standard practice for freezers. Coils get attached to inside of the freezer via spot welded metal straps, then it's sent into the foamer.

Very interesting, did you ever try to look for vacuum leaks because the mt was so high ?
@2guysandacooler8 ай бұрын
Yes. I was able to patch them all up and got the mT down to 165. I'll have a video on that coming soon!!

Hey I watched Throu G and still have no clue with mine. Tried freeze drying fruit and it won’t freeze. Stays from 21-24. I don’t know if it’s a sensor or wtv. No leaks at all, any helpv

When I take the trays out it drops temp… what does this mean?
@barryc91159 күн бұрын
Their attempts to deny the tests is annoying. HVAC guy here, vacuum tests are the go to for leak checks. The pressure tests are typically done first and soap used to verify there are no manifold of schrader leaks. Harvest Right better get their shit together as far as customer service goes because they do have competition now. These kind of reviews will get very expensive very fast for them.

I don't know how you maintained composure through the testing process. I would have gotten very irritated after I had already figured out what the problem was and wasted a full charge of refrigerant.
@earthfarmer5 ай бұрын
We reported leak last year and paid a $45 fee to tech support. Refilled the refrigerant 4 times now and added leak stop and dye - nothing visible on the high side - now they want me to pay $45 again. It seems that we have proven it's a low-side leak. 8 months for us, and really frustrating. Did you have to pay for every phone call appointment?
@2guysandacooler5 ай бұрын
That sucks. Mine was still under warranty so I didn't have to pay to talk to the "service department".
@earthfarmer5 ай бұрын
@@2guysandacooler, we are still under a 3-year warranty, and they say it's probably covered, but it costs $400 shipping to get them to repair the unit. I have asked for just the chamber; we can do the refrigeration work here. Even though we do service work for others as a service, they question if my self-repair voids the warranty. They have so many of these failures they may have run out of chambers and have resorted to chipping away foam and making repairs. Manufacturing quality parts supply must have tanked during COVID-19?. Unfortunately, this experience seriously paused me before buying another unit from them or their commercial line.
@earthfarmer5 ай бұрын
This really should have been a recall or a service bulletin it appears a supplier may have provided poor quality components. Trying to scare off affected customers with valid problems using call fees and high shipping to repair costs is not good business.
@2guysandacooler5 ай бұрын
@@earthfarmer It's truly sad. I wouldn't buy another unit from them. The Stay Fresh freeze dryer ( tinyurl.com/2fhfb3uz ) is hands down a better freeze dryer. I have 2 and run them all side by side. No comparison.

I would love to know if they changed their design or did any upgrades since it was initially released. I saw a review that was uploaded 8 months ago ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKncoZmtfryUec0 ) but I think they have added new machines since then.. Do you know?

Why did you use R410a when the compressor says R404a?
@2guysandacooler2 ай бұрын
Because R410a is what was originally used.
@neal____75382 ай бұрын
@2guysandacooler that makes no sense. Harvest right must be a joke of a company to put 410a inside a compressor that says it uses r404a. Plus add in the fact 404 is a low temp refrigerant and 410 is not a low temp refrigerant.
@neal____75382 ай бұрын
@2guysandacooler I checked with Cubigel, the company that makes the compressor and they said never put R410A in their R404 compressor. Your refrigeration tech is an idiot.
@2guysandacooler2 ай бұрын
WOW, You might want to rethink your insults. Where do I start. Your entire position of research is flawed. Of course, Cubigel isn't going to say that they put R410a in a R404 compressor. What you are missing is that Cubigel isn't the company making freeze dryers. If you did better research, you would find that Harvest Right buys prebuilt condensing systems from China. These condensing systems are specifically used for Freeze Drying. The companies that make these condensing systems put R410a in the Cubigel compressor (the one that says to add R404). If you took 1 second to go to the harvest right web site, they specifically tell you to add R410a to the compressor (because that's what's already in it). Next time, before you comment, do a little work. If you have an issue, it certainly isn't with me or my tech, it's with the Chinese company that puts R410a in a compressor that calls for R404.
@neal____75382 ай бұрын
@2guysandacooler are you stupid? The compressor manufacturer makes these compressors to safely run 404 which runs at a lower pressure than 410.
