Great first car choice! Really clean and pretty luxurious. Although I'm a bit biased since 2/3 cars in our yard are Škodas, the 3rd is still a Fiat, best bang for buck nuggets

i owned a 2004 1.2 htp fabia for 3 years called snoopy. best little car i ever had. so reliable and comfortable, that i went out and bought a 2015 fabia 1.2. i will only buy skoda now, and am looking forward to getting my brand new skoda superb 1.5 tsi sportline next year!

I bought a 2001 fabia 4 years ago. It is very cheap to maintain and reliable. I have the 1.4 mpi though. What I like the most is the interior design. it is absolutely spot on, a lot better than todays cars in this segment..

I had a friend at school had a near identical fabia. It was a lot rougher than this one, and came without a stereo, but still had all its speakers in, so he got an old bit of mahogany veneer hardboard, put an aux plug, on-off switch and volume button and that was it 😂 that looks very clean though 👌🏻

A Fabia of that age should have rear headrests (you can probably get them online should they be needed), I know that my 2006 MK1 does. Mine also has that cooled glovebox and there's also a small pull-out drawer beside the switch for the headlights too that's also cooled if you pull out the tab marked "on". I'd also recommend adding a new stereo if possible, perhaps something with USB and Bluetooth even.

Honestly mk1 fabia is one of the best first cars. They are cheap. Parts are easy to get. Cheap to run

Not my choice of car as they are VW cars in drag , but it is her first car and you have to start somewhere..... I'm giving my age away by saying my first car was a Hillman Imp!!!.. you might have to look that up hahaha. Also I remember rear engined Renaults , Skodas etc Avengers, Cortinas, Capris, Vivas, original minis, maxi, etc My dream cars were a Jenson FF and a beach buggy...........

Your friend chose well there, Fabia's are great cars and the 1.4 16v is the better 1.4 engine, the 1.4 MPi version sucks, no power and drinks petrol, worst of both worlds.

@@MillerCorner Her car is the 16v version which is far more fuel efficient. When I get another car it'll be 5 door, 5 seats and 40+mpg and the Fabia is on the list of possibilities, sound, reliable and economical cars.
