With genderfluid people, it's the same but with gender.
@bowchickabowwowthatswhatmy32195 жыл бұрын
samxntha it was an analogy. I wasn't literally saying that genders were feelings, but that genderfluid people's gender changes much like how our feelings change You probably don't understand it but that's probably because you haven't experienced anything like it. But it's important to listen to those who do differ from what people think. Otherwise trans people wouldn't be recognised as a whole. And saying that they are toxic to the community because they differ is very bigoted. If everyone thought like that, LGBT+ wouldn't exist.

I love this animation. It shows one of the many situations that may take place for a transgender person and really demonstrates how some people still don’t grasp the concept of gender identity (which is okay! People learn and sometimes not everyone accepts it). One of the biggest fears for a transgender person can be the loss of those close to them such as friends and family if they don’t agree with who they are. It can be scary and having a friend like Cassie (in this situation) can be a nice escape to being who they are when constantly stuck around people where they cannot. Cassie, while having a hard time to keep their friend’s identity, did a good job as an ally. Explains to her boyfriend what gender identity can mean in terms of a person and who they are. And trying to help him understand why someone may feel the ways they do. Overall, I love this video. It captures one of infinite situations transgender people may find themselves encountering, especially in regards to friends. Keep an open mind and an open heart! You never know who may need it.

@@mathiasvoorhees6232 Ya.... gender dysphoria (GD) is a mental illness, it's in the DSM-5 and everything. If I could have SAFELY altered the biochemical and overall structure of my brain at an early age and avoided GD in the first place I totally would have, but again, I need some form of treatment. I can’t see them as much as I want to, but we’ve both been very accepting of gender identity and sexuality and I love them for who they are, and not what’s between their legs.

Seeing all these hate comments against Jim and transgenders is honestly hilarious 😂 Transgenders are asking for acceptance but, you choose to insult a fictional character who is new to the subject of transgenderism and doesn't comprehend it. Most people who are new to a topic like this would have every reason to act this way because it has never been introduced and discussed before (with that particular individual). A person can be willing to learn and can be opened up to new things if you give them the time, however, if they refuse to learn or simply just do not care then, there's nothing you can do to change their perspective. If a person doesn't want to get into LGBT matters (specifically transgenderism), then don't insult them about it.
@starlitcentaur5 жыл бұрын
It's not "transgenders". You would say "trans/transgender people", as the former is basically dehuminizing them. It's the same way as.. you wouldn't call poc "blacks". It just sounds wrong, and it does hurt.
@yung29055 жыл бұрын
@@starlitcentaur Excuse me, but how is saying "transgenders" a dehumanizing term? If anything, the former president, Barack Obama has used the exact same term when speaking about them and providing them with more rights and support.
@sta38025 жыл бұрын
@@yung2905 well, you dont say "gays" as in "those gays" or "blacks" i just think theres a better term to use than "transgenders" edit: just realised comment above said "blacks" ok
@eliseofspades80175 жыл бұрын
First of all, how is *"blacks"* offensive? I'm black and take no offense to that. But I guess it comes off as disrespectful if you read it. And people say "trangenders" because they're transgender, that's just what you are. Nobody called either an offensive name, they shortened down the term?
@duskmare00004 жыл бұрын
@@mbrunson231 Words can be more than one type of word. "Shovel" for example, can be a noun or a verb. "Pass me that shovel so that I can shovel this snow." There's nothing offensive about using "transgenders" instead of "transgender people". It's just shorter. Also, people will take offence to anything and everything. If someone else gets offended by your use of language (when there's clearly no ill will or discrimination implied, as above) then they're just being fragile. It's like when black people call each other "nigger" and no-one gets offended because it's clearly not said in an offensive way. Even 'offensive words' aren't naturally offensive. It's all about the context of those words.
