Now we are talk'n! Sounds super!! My solo choice 1974. Next year was Tornado by Markovitch.

These Pratt solos are chop busters for sure. Most are two pages of non stop rudiments. You really have to make yourself relax so can make it to the end without struggling. Nice job as usual Ed. I recently took possession of a 1990 Yamaha Corps Custom Snare Drum and would like a little less ring to the tone. What kind of top head are you using on this drum? The Corps Custom was the drum that bridged the gap between the old school and the free floaters of today. A very heavy drum with die cast rims. This was a drum that found its way to the deep south from Iowa. (34th Army Band) A local director found it at a surplus warehouse. Who would have thought? The drum is in pristine condition and had obviously only been used by a caring adult. It will continue to be used and cared for by someone who appreciates the history and condition of this drum. Let me know about the drum head. Thanks!

True. It's easy to run out of gas in the last few bars.

How does that TDR sound to you? I recorded it on four channels: An SM57 on top, an AKG D112 under the snares, and a pair of stereo condensers overhead. One mic on the head was not enough to capture the timbre. I probably could mix it better.

Remo Powerstroke 2. But it was still ringing so I tossed a Remo Zero-ring on it.

@@TheDrumslinger I'll have to look at my drum again. It has a Remo Powerstroke on top, but I'm not sure if it's a 2 or not.

Fantastic execution and musicality. To me, there is a bit of a "swing" in your playing. I feel that is indicative of the American Modern style. Maybe that is just how my ears and brain interpret this music. What sticks are you using, Ed?

It does have to swing, especially in the second half with all the triples and sixes.
