Video is about key pieces of clothing that should be worn for a comfortable flight, when paramotoring in cold winter conditions. The flight footage is from my 27th flight as a paramotor pilot. My first flight of the New Year 1/6/2024. I am flying an Ozone Spyder 26 meter glider, Parajet Maverick frame and a Vittorazi Moster 185cc (my22) engine.

Great vid. I can recommend Power in Motion heated glove LINERS - wear a windproof but not overly bulky pair of gloves over the top. 12v and now 16v option - expensive but all the heat you’ll ever need. Buy cheap, you buy twice right? Suggest you hold the side of the brake handle triangle not the bottom, and tuck all finger ends except the 2 operating the throttle back into your palms (facing inwards not forwards.) Also, I recommend a helmet visor - makes a huge difference. Lastly, I suggest a pair of heated socks. But you must have space in the boot to trap the warm air - ideally enough boot room for a pair of woollen (NEVER cotton which absorbes moisture and therefore wicks away heat) walking socks over the heated socks too. Best wishes from the UK 👍

Thanks for the advice, I will try some of these suggestions on my upcoming flights. I decided earlier to try another pair of gloves which I thought were sold out. I will post an update on how these work out and look into the P in M liners. My face does not seem to get very cold, but a visor would be nice to have. Cheers from USA

I am so happy to live in Florida where we don't really have cold weather. When we do, it's a few days, then back to moderate or warm. I learned to fly outside Vegas but it was October and nice weather. I don't think I would even try flying if it was uncomfortably cold. Dealing with some weird wind conditions right now. 5-6 mph but variable in direction. Very hard to kite in...and I need the practice.

I live in one of the worst places to fly for all the reasons you mention. Winds are often shifty/gusty and it gets quite cold here. However this past winter was unusually warm. It rained on Christmas day and we had almost no snow. Last year 22/23 we had near record amounts of snow.

@@cloudwalkerppg504 Wow. I see we have almost the same equipment. I am also on a Maverick with Moster 185+ but my wing is a 30 meter Ozone Mojo PWR 2. I am trying to burn off some weight (around 240 after the lockdowns) but also wanted a wing that would support the Maverick trike option if I decide I need it. I shattered both my legs skydiving back in the 90s and sometimes have ankle issues. I survived training on a dry lake bed but that was with a smaller wing. I am just getting back into this after a year but really want to get more kiting time before flying. Also trying to connect with the local group so I am not getting back into this solo, but they are usually out at sunrise. I am a sunset person and night person that stays up till 4am. I was out kiting today but the wind was coming from every direction at 6mph and wasn't steady. I can get the wing up both forward and reverse, but it doesn't;t stay up 10-15 seconds before coming down. When I was in Nevada training, I got really good at reverse and could keep it up all day with little effort. Some of the guys flying where I was training could kite on their backs, which was very impressive. I need to go to the beach to kite as the winds are usually steady and light-moderate in the evening.

@@parajerry I trimmed off a lot of my weight as I was self training and am at 170lb. So the glider I have is a little oversized (26M), should have a 24M but that's what was available at the time I bought (got it used). Kiting does help you to understand how the wing reacts to changeable conditions, I highly advise doing as much kiting as possible.

My left hand froze on my last flight at 40mph. I didn't put a glove on before takeoff, and realized at 1000 feet that with the toggle and throttle in the way, I couldn't put a glove on.

Cool, thanks I just got-em. I've been looking for these for a month. When I have looked for these in the past, I would type into google and follow the link to Amazon. When you do this it goes to a screen that appears to be Amazon but it says the gloves are unavailable. So I just assumed they were sold out. Amazon must be the only place that sells them.
