This was so helpful. I have waded my way through the manual but Booray has shown how to make the camera very usable within a few minutes. His stuff is great.

Nice review. As mentioned quite awhile ago, I was not sure the V would be a choice. However, the more I thought about it, it had some qualities that were clearly big improvements. For example, there is a huge advancement in the new lens. Finally, I set the front button on the camera for playback. It has worked out well if I needed to look at a photo and not move the camera. I have not missed the d pad at all. It is really helpful to see what other people are doing with the camera. Wayne

Booray, thanks for doing these videos! My main camera is the T-3 but I've been thinking about getting the 100v as a fun walk around camera. I received it just yesterday and I've been watching some of your new videos. I do miss the D-pad a little but after I thought about what features I really use a lot it's really not needed. I plan on shooting the 100v just about the way you plan on using it. I really don't want to think about a lot except taking pictures. I went through my favorite buttons and after I set it up I watched this video, I set up the LCD screen exactly like you set it up! I do have one thing that I think is helpful, I set the rear dial to when I push it in it changes views, I like to use just the viewfinder and having this set I can quickly change views and use just the LCD. My problem is the wife really likes this camera! She only uses the LCD, so the button works great for her.

That's the thing about these cameras, you can't let somebody else pick them up or you might not get them back! 🤣🤣

Hi Booray, really enjoying your videos they’re easy going and really informative. I like the simplicity of your set up but I decided I’m not keen on swiping the screen so I utilised the function and Q buttons to compensate. What a camera though I’m so pleased with it.

Thanks for your video and this channel. I’ve been shooting a few decades but within the last decade getting serious. It’s really a fun hobby for me, and once-in-a-while I’ll make a few bucks. I enjoy your videos. I would be curious in how you focus and what focus modes you use and why, like what style (back button, focus and compose, etc) and meter modes. These are rarely covered it seems to me. Anyway, thanks again! I bought the x100v about a month ago and love it! Keep up the great work and keep on clickin!
@BoorayPerry4 жыл бұрын
That's a great idea about the focus and I'm writing that down! If I can do a video on focus and meter modes that isn't a full-length movie I will. :)

Thanks for a very informative video and well presented! Just to add that I like to use the view finder a lot so set auto iso and film simulations to the external buttons. (btw the name of the front wheel is 'front command dial')
@veryjr29664 жыл бұрын
Hands down the best advice on customizing Fuji X100 series and a refreshing “set it & forget it approach”. Quick question- are you using standard film simulations or have you ever considered Ritchie Roesch’s (fujixweekly) or Kevin Mullin’s “Film recipies” ? ... just trying to understand your Go-to approach in case you bother with JPEGs. Thanks !

I use the in-camera sims. I rarely shoot RAW because I don't want to deal with the post-processing (I already do that for my job so I want my "fun" camera to be less work). I shoot Classic Chrome most of the time.

Booray, I probably have changed some setting with the focus ring. It does not what it does as you explain it. Any idea how to get back to that original setup? Would appreciate

Try "Control ring setting" in the menu with the "wrench." :)

Helpful video as always. Question: How often do you use exposure compensation? I tried the C setting but prefer the EC dial so I don't accidentally change with the front wheel. By using the EC dial with the thumb grip, I don't accidentally change the EC so easily.

I use it constantly. I'm always adjusting based on subject.

The 1 tip I give anyone who buys a 100 series is to set the aperture to one of the command dials. I have mine set to the back command dial. The aperture dial on the 100 series is awful. For me at least.
@craigcarlson40223 жыл бұрын
Lee, thanks for your suggestion. I too find reaching and turning the aperture ring difficult, especially given where Fuji placed the raised, knurled areas. Back dial works nice for me.

I'm just laughing about the round hood. Many moons ago you asked viewers which of the 3 hoods was the best looking and (my favorite) the round one was not it! Now it's on the new V! I am still on the fence about buying this (actually the F used) only because I have purchased the M50 very recently. It might be too much stuff 😜. But I want it. Maybe I have to sell something else
@BoorayPerry4 жыл бұрын
I think the open hood is the best looking but the closed hood is the most practical. The open hood blocks the flash. :)
