⚠WATCH NEXT: HONEST OPINIONS of MALAYSIA from Foreign Tourists! kzbin.info/www/bejne/r6Gxe5qLnJd1otk
@FrankOutrightАй бұрын
How do most Americans compare to most Malaysians?...I bet each have their fair share of a**h**es. One thing for sure the majority of Malaysians are hard of criticism. They have stupid egos in their genes hypersensitive to criticism where other nations just chill. Well maybe thats just my opinion. Maybe a handful of them are exposed but most are hillbillies at heart and mind. They are either closed or narrowminded bunch. But you wouldn't find out as a foreigner unless you have genuinely integrated into the society. Who wants to show their bad side on camera? Even the people you approached the deal is about win win. You are a vlogger and they have some things to deliver. These days being nice is superficial at least in most cases. If you do an intelligent unbiased study on the dark side of their culture, policies and practices you'll find out that my comments are at least 75% accurate but I believe its 100% accurate. If you have read my comments before I am not saying the US is great either at times where authorities are concerened their racial profiling is absolutely disgusting and I don't think anyone in the right frame of mind would like the US government especially with their international and foreign policies. They suck big time and most countries f**k**g hate them. For example If its not for their BS and propaganda China would be number one economy and if its not for their war mongering interventions some countries wouldnt have gotten very poor. Most people wouldn't know just yet whats the real motive of your contents coz you could be a spy.
@noruparryАй бұрын
all you need is just suck up the chinese which is the main economic leaders among the rest of the ethnicity in Malaysia and you're paid handsomely. simple as that.

I want to tell you..Malaysia is Malaysia..not everything that is normal for you in America is normal in Malaysia..what is considered as freedom of speech in America is not the same in Malaysia..and there is not a single country in this world that practices freedom speak fully..everything has a limit..and your understanding in malaysia cannot be equated with americans..actually being too obsessed with freedom of speech is the reason why the people are not able to unite and live harmoniously and respect each other..look at America..so we don't allow beliefs or opinions that can harm religion, race and culture in Malaysia..remember you have to respect the host even if you don't agree with his country..Malaysians don't go to foreign countries to always talk about that country especially things bad in that country..not to mention speaking in public..because it can influence some people..this is just advice hope you don't misunderstand ok..love from 🇲🇾❤

I been commenting and appreciating your videos from the first days of your Msian vlogs and glad to see your channel is growing. The main reason foreigner interviews perform better than the locals is because Malaysians love hearing what foreigners say about their country. We like to see our country is growing and embraced , and listening to the global citizens for continous improvement.
@cgteacher4251Ай бұрын
That's great news! So glad to hear all your hard work is paying off, you deserve all the success. The other thing about people reporting the young fella from Eritrea is beyond belief. As a retired teacher who now teaches ESL online here in KL I found the dude to be refreshingly honest with a lively personality. He was simply stating his opinion (very eloquently I might add for a non native English speaker) those who disagreed with his views didn't have to contact the dean just to get him into trouble. That's the height of pettiness. You did the right thing by honoring his request to edit the video. You're a true pro. Oh, and I love the idea of live streams, you should definitely go for it!
@val80156Ай бұрын
Ben! I have been watching your videos for a long time, because they were unique in a way: real, not polished. Also you were real and honest, and I appreciate that. I noticed how much you grew as a vloger. Just please don’t become another “influencer”. Keep your videos rough and real, so we can see true Malaysia through your eyes. Thank you for your work!

Hi Ben....I m happy for you for the good news.The street interviews has boost your channel well and keep it up.Hope you have chance to meet Andrew Henderson(Channel Nomad Capitalist) and Andrew Taylor who are also american expat in Malaysia.They are doing well here as well.Glad to see you had met with Solomon in another video that day.Keep it up and cheers.
@benfisherminАй бұрын
Thanks a lot. Interestingly enough I've tried connecting with both of them. Andrew's (Nomad Capitalist) team reached out to me asking if I wanted to meet with him and we both agreed, and then I followed up about it 5-6 times straight with no response. And also asked Andrew Taylor who said he wasn't interested in meeting, he said my channel attracts nomads so we don't have synergy, which was strange to me (I told him my audience was mostly Malaysian but I guess he didn't believe it). Anyways I respect his decision if he doesn't want to meet.
@magnolya8Ай бұрын
@benfishermin That you want to have a close connection with us is outstanding. A. Taylor not aligning with that confirms why I don't feel a connection to him nor his channel/content.

@@benfisherminSolomon is a good guy. Fyi there's also Alex from Canada (Living abroad channel), Chai travels (Thai based but always in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia) and Max Chernov (Singapore based guy who has longer one on one interviews). Check them out too for tips and comparisons. Or collabs. Anyway, great to see the new stuff is working. I was one of people from your early days who thought your walk, talk and whine was not sustainable. Who wld have thought you were actually very good at interviewing. Ha ha. Seem to be a natural at it. Also if you wanna grow quick, try interviewing ichang, Japanese hubby n wife who are the King and Queen of foreign youtubers here. Good luck bud.

Firstly, I am so happy to hear about your recent connection with the tourism ministry and how this has resulted in your long term stay visa situation in Malaysia. Secondly, great to hear that you are going to create 2 more channels with different but relevant contents to what you are already doing now in this channel. All the best with your upcoming new channels. Thirdly, I am appalled to learn about the manner how some people respond to honest feedback from your interviewees. It is sad to know that there are some folks who cannot handle innocent sincere inputs and that they just want to hear only the positive stuff. I hope that you wouldn't need to make too much censorship to address this issue - I think the value of a good journalism, lies in the degree of truthfulness of its contents. I really hope that you can continue to keep your contents as real as possible.
@rozaiaw2308Ай бұрын
Congratulations and best of luck with your new ventures! I like to listen [sometime watch mostly listen] to your videos while doing work. About the UM boy, I think I watch the edited version but I did some google search about Malaysians which I feel is true. There are; Malaysians tend to be indirect communicators. Saving face and politeness are highly valued in Malaysian culture, so it is rare to receive a “no” during conversation, even if someone disagrees. Silence is also frequently used in conversation to convey politeness and respect. Don'ts - Avoid directly criticising someone, pointing out their mistakes or giving insincere compliments, as these are all actions that cause a Malaysian to lose (face). - Do not publicly humiliate anyone. - Avoid publicly displaying signs of anger, raising your voice or shouting in front of those older or superior to you.
@shaami8622Ай бұрын
he said he got "scammed" for applying here because "the buildings are old". so the response does made sense because of the way he worded his criticism, ie using strong word with an unreasonable criticism does seem rude to everyone. though i do agree that the response is abit harsh considering hes not an english speaker and so things may not translate well with his thought and his words.

Congrats. Its not easy to get the board of tourism to want to collaborate with you. Hope you will take up the offer as it will give your channel more traction with your viewers. I think its better to have the interviews with foreigners as your subscribers want outside opinions rather than local ones. I can understand its very difficult to get people to be interviewed in front of the camera. I think after your collab with the tourism board i believe your channel will grow. I notice that you are looking way better physically now than you were before. Been following you since you first arrived in Malaysia. Keep it up, Ben. Maybe now you will understand why locals are reluctant to be interviewed. But i think that may apply to a small group of people. I agree with the tourism board that negative feedbacks and giving opinions are to be welcomed.
