Hey Horse Lovers! Arlo and I are going on a local adventure! We are trailing out to trail ride and I'm bringing 3 more horses and students! We can't wait to hit he trails at waterloo and enjoy this beautiful day. We stumbled upon something fun during our ride and Arlo absolutely stole the show! Shae THANK YOU! This video was like a giant happy pill!! I've been stressed to the point I'm physically sick. Horses are like therapy for me. I took my phone into my bathroom, lights out and for a few minutes I was riding horseback thru a forest and didn't have a care in the world. Thank you for the escape from the madness!! I have never heard American cranes whoop and call out in abundance. That must be quite a clutch of cranes living at Waterloo Park. Fascinating. Jurassic Park it does sound. Arlo has a great mane flowing so beautifully, with his perky ears and intelligent head bobs trotting or cantering. I feel like I m riding him too. This pov is so awesome! ❤🐎❤ Well, what a wonderful day and experience for a trail ride on Arlo at Waterloo. I loved the ride pov! Nice little break and Labor Day pick me up offered by some lovely members and admins of Waterloo Park, etc. that was a sweet break and connection to the community. But mostly I was there on Arlo riding vicariously, So Thanks Shae and Kyle and FSE Stables!! 🥰💗🐎🐎🐎🐎💗

Those are Sandhill cranes. They make that type of call as an alert. They are really pretty docile birds and no the smartest bird either. Sometimes you can walk right up to them.

Our family had a holiday weekend get together at a lake here in southeastern Michigan, and we heard those exact same sounds but nobody knew what they were. Like many lakes here, there are marshes around much of the shoreline, so it must be good habitat for the cranes.

Watching the horses play in the water is always a treat. Girls mature faster than boys must be species wide because I could practically feel Beauty rolling her eyes at the gueldings before she gave in a little 😂

Just loved the trail ride & always when there is a stream or any water for the horses to play in. Olaf is hilarious & a Clown, that plate trick was the best. I am wiping the cobwebs out my memory remembering all my riding trips. I miss those days so much & I was so young. Everything completed before 20 & I am 73. So as I have been convalescent for 4 1/2 years now, my life is watching FSF videos. Thank you for so much I have missed out. @@carolforestiere6677 now that it was pointed out, I've noticed that lead horses have their pointed forward and horses behind the lead put them to the side of back. I'm guessing it's the prey in them to help protect their herd of dangers

I can't thank you enough for these wonderful trail ride videos! The more I watch, the more I remember the actual good times I had as a child. I remembered when I would take people out for hour trail rides at the stables I volunteered at (for riding time). I used to actually do that and I loved it. I hadn't thought about that particular part in a really long time and it put a smile on my face. It's nice when you can remember the good times that seem to be covered up with all the bad ones. 😊

I believe they're sandhill cranes. They're close cousins with whooping cranes and sometimes are found in the same flocks, but whooping cranes are an endangered species (fewer than 600 in the wild) while sandhill cranes are fairly common.
