Thanks for taking the time to watch. Efficiency is a never ending, always evolving goal. Kind of like acquiring gear.

I’m a Canadian relocated to the US and it’s funny to hear you give tips on all these type of music entity because those were what I felt like doing back in high school in 1972 when I started high school and found out music was offered.......when I ask for music as one of my subjects they told me I can’t play piano as a student(just migrated from Jamaica to Toronto)and I never got music as a subject fast forward 4 years later I went and learned on my own and later made up reggae bands with friends......I’m ready to dig into this music library offering now so I’m studying up a lot.........been watching your vids and subscribed

Sorry for late reply. It's very motivating to me, to receive this kind of feedback from my subscribers. Your time is valuable and I appreciate the support. Awesome that you took the situation into your own hands and learned on your own! Good call! Much success to you!

Excited to hear the ad agency thing, looking into that as well.
@MarlonGibbons5 жыл бұрын
Hey, Jure. In the past 6months I've done several Ad gigs. It was as simple as looking at existing connections in that world, as well as some soliciting. My only suggestion is have a Reel or at the very least an Ad focused demo / small catalog. (Rather than our Library type music).

great idea to revisit old notes! i a feature like that on my blog based on this idea - called "from the notepad" because i'm old-fashioned and i write more on paper than on phones... :)

While this video is about digital notes, I've been using pen and paper (journal/day planner) for a few years now. I'm with you and much prefer it.

great video marlon, could i ask a question please? i have a problem in that i have a piece of music which i will be uploading to my beat store, and it will also go on youtube. i plan to submit it to content ID via my beat hosting service, and sell licenses to rappers who want to use the instrumental. but i also plan to pitch the same track to a number of non exclusive music libraries. How are they with tracks already in the content ID system? Is retitling a way around this? Will the content ID system pick up on different cues of the same track? sorry its such a huge question im really hoping you can help. thanks again, have a great week. Tommy

What do you use to fill out meta data when you are submitting to music library for the first time?

Can you spread the word on how to get my masters back?
@cgraugaard5 жыл бұрын
When you say que's, what do you mean? Tags, variations, hooks, themes?
@MarlonGibbons5 жыл бұрын
Hey there. "Cues" we could also call "Tracks". The word "Cue" is more commonly used in the context of having scenes, or picture/video to go along with the music.. But the simple explanation is, I just mean "Track" or whole piece of music.

Hey Marlon, I'm stuck with a decision regarding libraries, I'd love to hear your opinion, when submitting, do you prefer exclusive or non-exclusive libraries?
@MarlonGibbons6 жыл бұрын
Hey, Dane. Exclusive. I mentioned this at 5:25 but I should have further explained. Both are valid paths to take and most Libraries will clearly state weather they want exclusive or not. Some will even offer both, but better agreement terms if you choose exclusive. My personal thought is, exclusive is a gesture that implies commitment to that Library and a good way to start a relationship. Tip: Negotiate a term or reversion clause (1yr, 18mo, 2yr) that if your tracks are not preforming, they come back to you. In fact, it may already be written into their agreement. Hope that helps. End of the day, it's up to you. Many producers like the odds of further spreading their tracks (non-exclusive). I prefer to focus on getting to know and interact with the Library I'm working with, rather than just another Library.

How do you get into audio editing?
@MarlonGibbons5 жыл бұрын
Start with watching KZbins videos, learning the basics and editing your own music/audio. Practice.

@@MarlonGibbons Gotcha! What about finding jobs for it? Would I look in the same places?
@MarlonGibbons5 жыл бұрын
I'd build a catalog or portfolio of your work/ability 1st, then start marketing (using social media) that this is something you offer. As for where to get audio editing jobs, I'm not sure. Any I've done, have been clients coming to me, not me soliciting for the work.
