I love this idea of having guests and having a conversation about whatever suits the situation. Tommy is a charming cutie, although he’s definitely stuck on the past. I understand the feeling of losing your monetary value, but it shouldn’t have such an impact. He has a good job, being afraid to move forward is detrimental to a healthy relationship. 타미의 고민이 진짜 현실적인 고민인 것 같아요. 한국에서는 결혼을 하기 위해서는 많은 돈이 필요한데 현실적으로 그러지 못한 청년들이 대부분입니다. 그래서 어른들이 결혼 언제하냐? 왜 안하냐? 이러면 대부분의 청년들이 돈이 없어서요. 경제적으로 힘들어서요. 라고 대답합니다. 그러면 어른들은 팩이 말한 것처럼 돈이 없어도 결혼할 수 있다. 둘이 벌면 금방 집산다. 라고 말씀하십니다. 하지만 요즘 사회는 어른들이 사셨던 시대와 다르게 현실적으로 너무 살기 어려운 현실입니다. 영상을 보면서 팩이 생각하는 결혼에 대한 생각이 맞는 부분이라고 공감하면서 봤습니다. 결혼은 두 사람이 연을 맺어 다시 둘만의 인생을 시작하는 부분인데, 현재 그러지 못한 한국사회 현실이 안타깝습니다.

What a great episode! It really helps to share different perspectives and Pack's wisdom was really on point. I think that Tommy might have been traumatized by his ex. Not every partner is going to be stressed out about money. If she had comforted him and made a financial plan with him where they could build a solid foundation together, it would have made all the difference. It must be hard for him to trust that the next person will be a supportive partner. When I first got married, I told my partner that these were going to be our poor romantic years and far in the future, we'll look back at them fondly. Like Pack and Kim were doing! Well, nine years later, we were still in our poor years but we didn't divorce because of money. Somehow that was never our issue. Still good friends, though and we do look upon those years fondly. 😁

Yes you don't want to struggle all your life but you want a person you can build a life with. Koreans seems to be about "showing me the money" which does not add up to happiness. If we go back to the beginning of Pack and Kim’s story, their love allowed them to overcome their poverty by living together in the rainbow house for four years in a not so big bed. Kim was broke, but somehow they lasted…. This life lesson is something Tommy should remember for his future girlfriend. Having lots of money at the beginning isn’t a REQUIREMENT. Love and a sense of commitment is. Kim and Pack provide great advice even though they aren’t straight!
