As a parent this made me cry. Mental illness is real and on the rise. Too many parents miss the warning signs. Anxiety, depression, Bi-polar are all related to imbalances to serotonin levels in the brain. Therapists and a good MD is a must for these poor children.

She needs a therapist, and possibly a doctor who specializes in treating OCD. She may have a real medical disorder called OCD. OCD is unwanted thoughts that have a very low % chance of happening, and yet the brain processes it as a real concern. If she started having these feelings in her teens, then she may have a real medical condition. Untreated OCD can lead to suicide since it is driven by serotonin imbalance. Good story!
