I made a set from old inner tie rods I replaced that just happened to be the same size and thread. There are different sizes and thread pitches for some of the different brands FYI. Also you can go to a junkyard and dig thru trunks in BMW and Benz trunks and find them with the spare tools, they’re basically free there. One thing I found, NOWHERE sells all-thread the correct sizes or the right thread pitches unless you special order online somewhere… You MAY be able to find some long bolts at a hardware store and cut the heads off, it’ll work the same(I cut the end so it had a kind of tab to work as a handle of sorts). I actually sold many of them while I worked at a VW dealer to other techs, and accidentally gave a pair away when I sold my Jetta once(because I forgot they were in the trunk for spare changes jic). I’ve probably made about 10-15 pairs besides the ones I still have left(somewhere between 2-6 left). It makes it extra easy if you use 2 vs just 1 in a driveway/side of the road situation. However in a shop situation working on a lift, 1 works just fine.

Too bad you are all the way in Kansas, I have the original exhaust that came off my '11 328i wagon when it was re-delivered from Germany hanging on the wall in my garage in Maine. Free if you can figure out how to get it. Cut off just behind the front flange to install the OEM Performance Exhaust system. Has 2500 Autobahn miles on it. These are REALLY good cars. Mine has been an absolute anvil from new, and the '11 128i that joined it in my fleet four years ago (bought from BMW Wichita!) has been great too. The trick to happy BMWing is knowing which ones to avoid like the plague.

N52 cars are almost always a safe bet, especially if they've been taken care of! We actually nabbed a stock exhaust from a 328 at the junkyard but it's been too slushy and icy out to put it on. Next video, hopefully!
