I agree about the diversity thing. It gives the cloud village more of an identity and doesn't feel shoehorned at all considering that they're so far away from everyone else, so it makes sense that they would have different skin tones and look different from the rest of the naruto world.

(19:39) Idk why you argued against Lindsey so hard for what she said about the Raikage and the Hyuga Incident as if what she said was factually wrong. We understand that from the Raikage's perspective it sucks that the Hidden Leaf reacted so much quicker against Cloud Ninja as opposed to their own Leaf Ninja, but like Lindsey said: It's a child abduction happening within their own village, of course they're gonna react quickly and with force. Obviously it's really dumb that the Hidden leaf sent out Genin in their attempt to recover Sasuke but for one thing the Cloud probably wouldn't have known that, and obviously afterward it's so much more of a huge ordeal to extract a ninja from an enemy base rather than to deal with intruders within their own village, and also it wasn't as immediately a big a deal as a child abduction. Sasuke hasn't even caused much trouble up until now, he even killed Orochimaru for them. Also, why didn't the Cloud stop their shinobi from invading the Leaf (whereas they expect the Leaf to be able to stop their own Shinobi from invading the Cloud)? Why did the Cloud demand the sacrifice of the Leaf Shinobi that killed the intruder? Obviously we understand the Raikage's perspective but in the grand scheme the Hidden Cloud seemed to be way more in the wrong in this situation. So again, when you argued against Lindsey about this Idk why you went in so hard as if what she was saying made no sense whatsoever whereas your logic was really only mentioning things that favor the Cloud's perspective. I don't think Lindsey was at all wrong in wanting to point out the Raikage's hypocrisy. Obviously the Raikage's perspective could be understood but that wasn't the point of her comment. It felt very much like you were arguing against her for the sake of arguing against her: (20:25) Carson: "What do you mean 'the same' he's not comparing them" Lindsey: "Yeah he is [actually]...." Carson: "oh yea, yea.... well no he's saying like...." Well yeah actually idc what he's saying cuz he was still wrongfully comparing them.

Always fascinating to see those differences in translation or rather adaptation

Actually Sasuke didn’t kill the guy that looked like Juugo. At least not in the anime, because Suigetsu talks about how he didn’t deliver a fatal blow to him after they go on to fight more of the prisoners saying he’s too soft.

I still think the raikage was a bit unreasonable, which is part of his character I think. The Hyuga incident was started by them, and the leaf responded quickly because it happened in their territory, and it was concerning a Hyuga. His brother got "kidnapped" by a rogue ninja in the hidden cloud, so they themselves should have been quick to act on their own, yet they have failed to do so. So him calling out the hokage for not doing anything is a bit unreasonable on his part. But if he was blaming the leaf for not sending black-ops to kill and retrieve Sasuke early on when he first went rogue, that would be more understandable, because rogue ninjas are probably handled in a similar fashion across all villages, and it would appear to seem that the leaf has a soft spot for Sasuke in the perspective of the raikage.

@@thesunisup_ I was referring to the context abt the hyuga incident, and him saying they were quick to act back then but not now concerning the kidnapping of B. If he's talking abt them not killing sasuske when he first defected, that's expected when he's angry but logically doesn't hold up much, because the leafs speed with the hyuga incident should be treated differently to a rogue ninja. One was done by the hyugas head and resolved internally albeit with consultation of the hokage, but sasuke was a matter of the hokages decision entirely. To raikage, it seems that hokage had a soft spot of sasuke, and that argument is fair, but thinking abt it more, the speed of taking down a rogue ninja is of course gonna be slower than the responding to a kidnapping of the heir of the most prestigious clan which was caught on the spot and which could spark a war that they themselves threatened. Raikage is just being salty his plan to get hyuga byakugan failed and brought it up in anger as his brother is taken away. I don't blame him cuz it's the anger talking, but still unreasonable.

And in terms of that the Raikage does have the moral high ground because apparently he doesn’t let random ninja from his village go rogue and do crime for years hence no Cloud ninja in the Akatsuki or any known criminals period

Itachi’s Death news could have come to the hidden cloud as well. So, saying “Why an Uchiha is in the Akatsuki?” makes sense in that context. Also: of course, the man who knew the most about Akatsuki was Jiraiya. Oh, and finally: there is no Akatsuki from the Hidden cloud. So, now you know...

*Maybe Spoiler, only for Carson* Just to clarify, there were dubbing mistakes and also subtitle mistakes. The war where the Sannin were the main leads was the 2nd great ninja war. The one where Minato was the lead was the 3rd great ninja war. *Spoiler* The first great ninja war was during the time of the Second Hokage when he nominated Hiruzen as the Hokage. The cause was countries taking over other countries resources. One such trigger for the war was Madara asking the Stone to bow before the leaf's power.

The surprise wasn't that an Uchiha (in specific) was in the Akatsuki. The surprise was that a rogue Hidden Leaf Village Ninja was part of a terrorist organisation. That indicates that the Hidden Leaf - the military of one of the 5 great nations - is failing to capture and deal with their rogue ninjas. The Hidden Leaf Village is allowing dangerous operatives to go rogue and do as they please without even monitoring them. On top of that they're sweeping it all under the rug and aren't even telling/warning other nations that some of their most dangerous operatives have gone rogue. Very very bad look.

Unlike the Hidden Leaf, the Hidden Cloud has no obligation (on top of no reason) to go after the Akatsuki. Orochimaru, Itachi, Sasuke and even Tobi were _all_ Hidden Leaf Ninjas! Hidden Leaf Ninjas are the responsibility of the Hidden Leaf. Of course that goes for rogue ninjas, too. Even more so, arguably. And - from what Raikage was saying - it's even beside the point that the Hidden Leaf has been fighting with the Akatsuki. His problem is: why are Leaf Village Shinobi free to go rogue and join the Akatsuki to begin with? They shouldn't be allowed to run off in the first place.

the craziest thing about this whole part is that it took this long for any one of the group to realize the Akatsuki was a threat to call the others in on, like seriosuly, if you recall orochimaru was a member for quite some time and that means they killed the kazikage...... twice..... and an uchiha? that's a suprise? sauske going at u is what tipped u off, not itachi being a known member for like a decade? rouge for killing his own clan THE UCHIAH!, if anything sharingan NOT showing up during an Akatsuki attack would be news
