My guess is tht she wanted the friend to be gone from ops life and not just the apartment itself hence her excuse of the friend "threatening their relationship". His friend being longer in the house would provide her with more excuses to kick him out hence she intercepted the job interviews I guess.

It doesn't make sense that she would hide the interview appointment letters and such. If she was trying to get rid of him why would she not let him go to these interviews? If he got a job he would leave. By not having a job , he's gonna stay longer
