Nailed Bane... lol no, dude. Bane is not an over glorified babysitter. C'mon. Nolan clearly doesn't read comics. Something he confirmed himself. The only character portrayed correctly was Scarecrow...in the whole trilogy. Everyone else just straight up didn't act like the characters.

I'm one of those people who loves this the best, mainly because it's so focused on Bruce's origin, and I love Cillian Murphy's Scarecrow. Batman and Daredevil have a lot in common because of one man, Frank Miller. Frank made Batman Year One, which this movie takes a lot cues from, and he wrote the Daredevil run, that made the character who he is to this day, both of which were around the same point in time in the 80's. Also another man who influenced both is Jeph Loeb. Jeph wrote another story that influenced this, Batman: The Long Halloween, and his Daredevil story, Daredevil Yellow, didn't have a huge impact on the character, but it's up there.

If you’re being charitable to the League of Shadows, I think the reason they wanted Gotham to destroy itself is to teach it a lesson about their own corruption bringing about their downfall, so that they rebuild as something better and less corrupt. If you destroy it using an outside force, it may rebuild exactly the same or even worse than it was before.

The ideology is quite similar to that of V for Vendetta, but instead of blowing up parliament building, you create an example of horrific genocide in which a city basically kills itself and serve it as a reminder to the rest of the world to be better. Like we still talk about Rome and the French revolution, we need modern examples to shock people out of apathy.

Random trivia for this movie: as pointed out by Holden, the boy that Batman gives the gadget too when climbing up the house, the one that says, "It's you, isn't it?" That's the same actor that plays Joffrey in Game of Thrones. But also, the thief who kills Bruce's parents, is one of the guys who plays the Night King also in Game of Thrones.

Bats are not really harmful. Most of them eat fruit or insects, and their wings are super fragile so they rarely pick a fight with anything that might break their wings. Vampire bats don't really attack people either, they just sit on cows and bite them. Have a little numbing agent in their fangs so the cows don't notice.

I kinda like and hate this trilogy of Batman by Nolan... As a movie fan, I think they're very good movies... As a comic book fan, I understand that Nolan went for a very realistic take on Batman, what Batman would be like in our real world. That's his choice but I miss the wonder and the out-of-this-world vibes that super-hero comics provide. And for instance, the same goes for the interpretation of the Joker. Yes, Heath Ledger was great in his performance and he deserves his academy award but it's not the joker that I like, he lacks the cartonnish humor of the Joker IMO (and he lacks it because it didn't fall into the hyper-realistic take that Nolan wanted to put in his movies) It 's like ras al-ghul and him being hundreds of years old and immortal. Not in this movie, he is just a regular guy that created a myth around him.

Fun fact Jen. Nolan had met Ledger to play Bruce Wayne for this movie. But, Ledger told Nolan that while he is interested in working with the director, he did not want to do a superhero movie as back then, they were not taken seriously. But Ledger after seeing Batman Begins called up Nolan and expressed desire to play The Joker and the rest is history.

Well, since the trilogy came out, I've since learned how to better distinguish between the two actresses, as my spectacles don't always make it readily apparent, I have to compensate. It's the weakest of the 3, IMO, but closer in tone and style to Batman Begins. I think it has about 2.5 films' worth of content that's squeezed into its running time making it seem very rushed and unsatisfying. Others might say it's brilliantly paced, lol.

I’m a big fan of these, especially the dark knight. I’m also a fan of Christian Bale. But looking back at these movies, Christian Bale really doesn’t deliver a performance that makes a connection with the viewer. He just doesn’t compare to Keaton’s Bruce Wayne. In my opinion.

One detail that I absolutely love about this is that when the majority of Gotham's criminals see Batman for the first time, they're on fear toxin and seeing this nightmare of a creature. That is a perfect set up for the legend of Batman. Batman operates by making criminals afraid of him. Now most of them have seen him in the most terrifying way possible. True, they'll put together that it was probably the fear toxin that did it, but it will always be in the back of their heads how terrifying he was. Nevermind that they're all probably seeing a different Batman dependent on the fear toxin affecting them differently. "Yeah man, he had glowing eyes." "What are you talking about? It was his claws that were crazy." "He had claws? I just saw him with blood running out of his mouth, probably fed on some poor soul." So suddenly there is a lot of mystery and uncertainty around what Batman actually is like and probably a number of tall tales that came about as a result, which can only fuel the fear people have of him. There was an animated Superman cartoon where he had to dress up as Batman because Bruce Wayne went missing and Gotham needed to be reminded of Batman to be afraid of him. So Superman is dressed up as Batman and using his super strength to take out some hard core Batman villains. So suddenly, the criminals are talking about Batman's superior strength that they didn't realize he had before. I thought this was an ingenious idea that more super heroes should employ for practicality. Exchange places so that the villains don't really know your full abilities or powers, make them question, throw them off their game. Not to mention you have opportunities to allow the alter ego to appear in public at the same place as the superhero, thereby deflecting suspicion on who the super hero's secret identity is. My point is, the fear toxin was the perfect opportunity for Batman's entrance to make sure that the criminal element were afraid enough of him to think twice before doing something. It wouldn't have lasted, but it's a good base point

I don’t know if Holden ever heard of this TV show but it is very underrated but it’s called “Gotham” it was on Fox and honestly one of my favorite DC live action tv show. It’s mostly focus on Jim Gordon and how Gotham basically came to be how it is now. Plus you get the full origin story of Bruce Wayne. That’s one of the reason why I live it because it’s a Batman show without Batman. I was honestly at the time was tired of Batman stuff because it was just nothing but him for a good 5 years but than this show came out and it was just amazing.

Bat-Man was also inspired by The Shadow . The first story he appeared in very much inspired by a Shadow story. The Shadow might be a good selection for her to watch .

It was a bold move not having the Joker in the first movie if u think about it. He is not just a Batman villain he is THE Batman villain.
