Something that doesn't get talked about enough in this film is the talk between Magneto and Pyro on the plane. How Magneto pulls the lighter from Pyro and then tells him about manipulation of others and then HANDS the lighter back to him in a subtle way to show Pyro he doesn't want to control him. Great character moment!!!

When we were younger her nickname was Wheels so I get reminded of her every time Jen calls Professor X Wheels, who was also one of her favorite X-Men. In a nutshell why these movies, while really good, failed to achieve their full potential. Every side character is ground down to a shadow of their comic book version just to fit the limited plot requirements of the film they are in.

Jen is on point. Even the good X-men movies have a habit of using a lot of characters that are nothing more than cameos. Heroes and villains that are fully fleshed out characters in the comics end up as mute henchmen without personalities.

Unfortunate relic of the times. There would have been no intention of ever getting around to anything close to Lady Deathstrike's story in the movies, so why not use a pre-existing character from the comics as a one off henchman?

Fun comic facts: 1. This movie was in response to the previous when fans were like "it's not really like the comics that much". So this movie is based off of a graphic novel called God Loves, Man Kills, mixed with the lore they'd already put down. 2. Lady Deathstrike (female Wolverine) looks nothing like that in the comics. She's also not a mutant in the comics, but is in fact a leader of a cyborg mercenary group, who have altered their bodies with alien technology. She, in particular, has 4 foot long robot arms that end in razor sharp claws, hence the nails (its not just 'cos girl'). 3. Nightcrawler is Mystique's birth son in the comics (his father is a demon named Azazel... Wait whaaaaa?!) and Rogue is her adopted daughter (who gets her permanent powers of flight and super strength from holding on to Ms Marvel/Carol Danvers for too long in the comics) 4. The metal man is Colossus, and his sister (in the comics) is Magick, Anya Taylor Joy's character in the not so great final Foxiverse movie, The New Mutants. 5. The girl who phases through the bed is Kitty Pryde, the actress being replaced by Eliott Page in later instalments. She gets a brief mention in the first movie as a 'girl who could walk into a bank vault'. 6. The pilot for the 90s X-men cartoon was called Pryde of the X-men, and was made in the late 80s. Due to a sudden shift in aesthetics, fashion, and music, the pilot was scrapped and remade just as X-men, with Jubilee replacing Kitty Pryde as main expositional audience stand-in character (mainly because she had a 90s aesthetic in both fashion and powers, and is essentially a walking highlighter. This is also why Dazzler was taken out as there powers were too similar, and Rogue was put in as she had a similar personality to Dazzler). The pilot episode can still be found on KZbin. Some scenes from the show were cut together to make the opening for the 90s cartoon..... ..... And Wolverine has the best accent ever in it

So Lady Deathstrike's death is really tragic because just as Logan stabbed her with the fluid, the mind control started to wear off seconds after. You can see her eyes returning to normal basically. Had Logan endured for a few more seconds she would have returned back to normal. Sad really. Its why Logan's got that sad expression on his face as he himself realizes this. Like I said...Tragic.

The female Wolverine is actually Lady Deathstrike and in the comics her claws don't retract. So claw fingers all the time. This is the best of the original trilogy in my opinion.

When I first read Magneto in the 70s, he didn't need extra iron injected into you. There's plenty of metal in the human body already. Iron is what makes your blood red, and Calcium is a metal. In the comics, he would lift and toss people and Avengers all the time by their blood.

@@leonardolonghi3472 a 250 pound man has about 5 pounds of metal in him. If you think calcium is weak, even cushioned with flesh, a fist hurts. And pure calcium, like sodium, is dangerous. People would also track meteorite dust all the time. Magneto could silently collect it.
