I am 38 and my skin is pretty "normal" with no dryness or particular oily areas. I do have early signs of aging like fine lines/texture, as well as some sun damage and REDNESS!
I don't use fake tan, but I get very tan naturally in the summer as I have an olive undertone so my face is often a LOT lighter than my body, because I keep my face very well protected to keep my melasma under control and signs of aging at bay!

I love that you promote self love and self worth . I am just about to turn 51 and only started loving makeup once I reached 50. I love how it makes me feel , I have a chronic illness and am on a disability pension in Australia so saving bit by bit to hopefully one day purchase some high end makeup and experience that quality all over my face . I can only imagine the feeling on your skin and the eyeshadows that blend and glide with ease . Maybe one day My point is I apply shimmer , highlighter to whatever level I’m in the mood for regardless of my planned day . So thank you so much 😘

I’m totally with you on not always wearing makeup. I tell my daughters that makeup is fun, but I’m ok with people seeing me without it. They see me having fun getting dolled up & also me being just as confident being seen in public sans makeup. 😁

I’m with you on the shimmering eye looks. I’m 60 and I have beautiful PM eye looks every time I go out. It brings me joy. These palettes are special and I think they are meant to be used. Your look is stunning 😍

I love this look, we have very similar makeup preferences. My attitude is I wear makeup for me, so my look will depend on how I feel and how much time I have on any particular day. It can be anything from no makeup to a full beat, the time of day is irrelevant for me and if someone doesn't like it, well they can just avert their eyes. The great thing about makeup is it washes off!

I find make up applications mesmerising. I’m with you in the glitter and glitz. Office appropriate isn’t a phrase I understand. I just apply what I want when I want it, like you I see it as self care and it brings me joy 🤩

Love this look, simple and pretty. I agree also that for me makeup is also part of my self-care, applying makeup puts me in a calm and peaceful mood, and helps me appreciate my features more. Of course, I have those days when I don't put on any makeup, and don't care if others notice or not.

Thank you for alluding to the fact that self-care is an action, not a category of consumer goods. Makeup CAN be self-care, but one has to put intentional effort into it. Too many creators have started just equating beauty purchases with self-care, and it does not work like that. If you buy makeup you can't afford and hate applying it, it's not going to be self-care or yield any of those benefits.

👋 Charlotte! I agree with you make up for me is like painting (I love to paint but don’t have the time with a toddler and a kindergartener). I find it very relaxing. I do make up after kids go to school when I have time between my meetings. It relaxes me and puts me in a good mood for the rest of the day ❤

What a great point! No one else notices. I can say I put makeup on every day, regardless of whether I'm even leaving the house. All during Covid when I was home all day yet I still feel that ppl will think I'm sick or something if they see me without it. I'll try that one of these days. Leave the house bare faced

Here for the free poems! 🙌😂 I'm all for the "any makeup anywhere anytime" policy, in fact I am often seen staying at home or at the grocery with grandiose makeup just for the kicks of playing with it. Sadly some social situations such as work often seem to require "appropriate" makeup. Appropriate for whom? Not me, surely. Especially when you're on a backoffice kinda job and there is no sensible reason why I should neglect my sparkles. Apparently makeup skills take away from all other competences you may have in all fields of life.

I love the Rephr brushes. But!! Their lash curler broke my lashes off. It was terrible . They have finally grown back. I went back to using the Tarte curler. Remember ladies to always wipe clean your curler between uses. I’ve used many and found this one to be really good. I love you look Charlotte. Pretty eyes. ❤

Charlotte, have you tried using the lash growth you love on your brows to fill in those few areas? I always use mine on my brows and it’s helped fill in the gaps. Also, couldn’t hear a thing in the background!

I think you're spot on about whether people notice when we don't wear makeup... however I would say when our makeup is gorgeous and enhances ourselves to the best we can be - then people notice us/the person more and in a good way :) I am past the school run phase of my life (LoL) but you do you Charlotte - you're gorgeous without and even more gorgeous with 🥰🥰 Hope you enjoyed your lunch out 👍

I either wear no makeup or full blown makeup. Nothing in between. Like you, I just enjoy the process and wearing makeup in general. It takes me max 30min in the morning, I usually have coffee and watch YT while doing my makeup. I'm working in non-profit. I wear full glam makeup regardless my duty station: Syria, Yemen, Iraq etc. or somewhere in African bush. I never experienced negative feedback. Funny enough, women in Middle East always wear heavy makeup themselves, and sometimes the topic of makeup allowed me to break the ice especially while conducting female related activities. Lastly, since I've been working in so many different countries, I know exactly what makeup will last in very humid or very dry climate. 😅

Agree completely. No idea where we got the idea that anyone cares if we wear makeup. I mean I care if I wear makeup, but no one else does. It took me realizing that I do not really notice if other people have makeup on to realize that no one cares. 😂

I am surprised you don’t use any kind of serums under your makeup. I’m 71 and use serums as a first step and sometimes I wonder if I’m using too many products. Of course at my age I need all the help I can get! Hello Desert Mermaid……. I’m 71…….. but I wear shimmers all the time. The way I look at it, the only person I have to please is me, and wearing shimmers pleases me! I wear them for me, and anybody who doesn’t like it, well, it’s none of their business. I use loads of serums too……. I can never get enough. My dry skin needs extra TLC these days. Wear your make up well! Have fun!

Hi Charlotte how do you wash your Jumbo base Sonia g brush? The hair keep sticking together after washing. It wont become fluffy. Perhaps it needs a better cleanse. But how? 🙂

I go all in every day! 😂 love makeup & love playing with different brands, I’m getting more high end being in my 50s, I find more luxury brands are more forgiving on older skin, tho I am still crinkle free 😂 loving the new Dior blush ❤ with years of practice, 30 minutes face & hair done, ready for the day in my salon 💇‍♀️ 😊

Love this look, looks so fresh and glowy! I’m pretty disappointed with the Dior lupine blush though. The glitter in it is too chunky, it transfers and flakes everywhere :( and the scent is kind of odd. Much prefer Chanel Alezane, the colors are pretty similar and the shimmer looks more elegant.

Your eyelashes are looking fabulous! To me it is always preferable to have beautiful looking lashes over applying falsies! Latisse was so helpful to me for so many years!
