I use cubase since 20 years and I hope to understand it better with your videos. I wondered how can I use outboard gear with the computer. You gave me the answer in that other video! Thinking about the system 500 gear, which can be expensive, too I wanted to try out my super cheap investment for recording drums. I'm talking about two behringer ultragain preamps and maybe the two cheapest dbx compessors in a 19" rack. Can it work for mixing or mastering? It costed me €70,- on ebay and the rack was included! To be honest this was two years ago. Now plugins- my first plugin was guitar rig 5 with the session i/o interface. I think it was 15 years ago? I'm still using this interface because it's better than the computer audio out. My list of plugins: waves, izotope, boz, fabfilter, sonnox, soundtoys, klanghelm, voxengo, mcdsp and some others. Sometimes I'm wondering why the guitar is not cutting and then I'm spinning the wheel of plugins. But seriously: the waves spectral analyzer is many years older than the izotope. The secret is: buy them when they are cheap!
