The phrase “whispers in the dark” I’m pretty sure refers to a story in Bible where one of the prophets named Elijah finds a cave and God appears to Him in the form of a soft voice speaking. In the story, Elijah was being hunted and didn’t know where to turn. By God speaking to Him, He showed him he was there, regardless of the circumstances, which does seem applicable to what you are going through. I’ll be praying for you and your family Alex. We’re all here for you through this.

We are here for you indeed, but it doesn't get better... It gets easier to talk about it and it gets easier to live with it... But we are here for you mate...
This is one of Skillet's songs that is written from the direct perspective of God/Jesus, as are The Last Night and Savior. It begins with God saying "your love is mine for the taking" and "my love just is waiting to turn your tears to roses." (So nice they say it twice.) Then God says "I'll be the one that's going to hold you. I'll be the one that you run to. My love is a burning, consuming fire." - When life hurts too much, He says come to me and I will be your strength. In the chorus 'God' says "when darkness comes you know I'm never far, hear my Whispers In The Dark." - In life's darkest moments, He will speak to us in a soft voice and, as Casting Crowns (another awesome Christian band) says, "calm the storm in me" [in us]. This was great, it was like God whispered into your darkness right there in your reaction video, our dope ass dude. Amazing. #Skillet

@Jesse MacKenzie my grandparents were married 70-something years and they followed each other. I never got to meet them they died before I was born. My parents didn't spend too much time away from each other either my mom went first and then my dad but I wasn't there and it was for the wrong reasons I was supposed to be with them I was the chosen person to take care of them and I got that robbed from me so it's extremely painful. Not only did I lose all my stuff but I lost my inheritance and the little Trinkets and things that my mother told me stories about from her childhood my mom was born in the twenties in the very early twenties so I'm much older than most of you and having her sit down and tell me stories about hundreds of things my whole life and why she wanted me to have them and then have those things probably get thrown in the garbage for the person who just wanted the money and the property. So they took my stuff and got everything that was legal illegally changed into their name and I got nothing and I know that my parents suffered and it kills me. I guess maybe now that their God they know the truth but who knows we don't know till we get there. Take care of that was a very insightful thing that you said.❣

Passionate people come together to create strong bonds over things they love. You've got the strength to keep going, no matter what life throws at you. Your family should take the time they need to grieve and then celebrate the great times you all had with your Grandmother before her passing. You even have something greater, you have a visual and audio recording of your grandmother's words to you in your vlogs. Cherish those recordings always, they're truly special.

@EJ Simas Gods Love is represented through grace, mercy, and the prerogative of choice. However he does not give you the privilege of determining a different outcome to what your prerogative of choice will entail. The consequences are bound to that choice. Hey man all my condolences to you right now. I know how you feel and just wanna say everything will get better eventually my friend. Might not be the same, that won’t ever happen, but know that there are others out there that will keep your life together. Live strong my man. On a side note, there is a song on the same album, Comatose, that I think might also be very applicable to your situation. It’s a great song, and I heavily recommend it.

There are so many "Losing a loved one" songs, it's crazy. I think most songs I listen to are just like that. The ones I can think on top of my head: - RED "Pieces" - In This Moment "Into the Light" - Thousand Foot Krutch "Already Home" - UnSun "The Last Tear" - Wihin Temptation "Our Farewell" - Light & Shade "Lionhearted" - Temperance "Stay" - Temperance "Everything That I Am" - The Murder of My Sweet "Shining After Dark" - Emphatic "What Are You Afraid Of?" - Submersed "Dripping" - Letters From the Fire "At War"

Yeah...it's a good one, but it's more of a "Losing yourself" song. I'm always terrified myself that one day I won't awake from a normal sleep and won't see tomorrow.

When Paul Gray passed, I believe his brother told the band "We're living for two now." When I lost my grandma, also to Alzheimer's related illness, that's what I told my family at the funeral. And I'll say the same to you. She's not gone, you're just living for two now. My condolences, brother. My next dope ass day will be dedicated to y'all.

Lacuna Coil just released a song called “Save Me” which is based off of the loss of her parents 9 months apart. Maybe you can relate because of your loss

I can relate. My parents passes 10 months apart. My father had a brain aneurysm that breached, and my mother had Cystic Fibrosis. She passed after him. 1997-98 was very tough for me.

This song actually saved my life years ago, and constantly heals me. I grew up in church but it was all religion until I had my own experience with God. Then the lyrics took a whole new meaning and I have never been more grateful for bands like Skillet that don’t hold back and never did. I knew and loved their music from their first album. This song is a huge throwback!

@@disappointedfather5119 You can interpret it however you want but you can never miss the original message of the song. They are singing to send a specific message and if you don't pay attention to it then it's all for nothing basically.
