Such a nice collection; lots of titles I love but also some completely new to me that I want to add to the TBR list right now because of your descriptions

@@ReadToMeAtMidnight if you still haven't read them to this day, I would say read amazing Spider-Man 1-3 of marvel masterworks; its the original series. The others you have of Spidey are random but since you have them I would read marvel knights, Spidey Deadpool and then spider-island just so you have a lot of Spidey before jumping into something like spider-island. but for a more satisfying read with more of a cohesive story and imo better, I would get the rest of the Spidey marvel masterworks in numerical order. I love Spider-Man and have a lot of knowledge on his comics, so if you want any more help or guidance just reply and I will then reply again as fast as possible.

You can definitely figure out the DC and Marvel continuities and it's definitely worth it. A little bit a research goes a long way. It is confusing at first for sure but if you commit a little time you can work it all out.

Wonderful video!! ❤️💕I very much understand your confused of Marvel and DC comics, I too am endlessly confused and tbh very put off by that... the ones I have tended to enjoy far more are one shot stories/series that you don’t to buy 40 books of to understand... 😅 please update us all as your collection grows!! And I would absolutely love to see a poetry collection video! Xxxx
@ReadToMeAtMidnight3 жыл бұрын
Yeah exactly! I really liked the Harley anthology I have because you could go into that blind without reading anything else, it's just so exhausting to think about trying to research it all lol so I've never bothered :')) And yesss I need to buy some more poetry aha but I would love to do a video on it

This video is almost one year old, so I don't know if you read them already but my suggestions would be some graphic novels by Alan Moore as I didn't see any in your collection: Watchmen, V for Vendetta, The Killing Joke and his run on the Swamp Thing. Since you like Brian K. Vaughan and Mark Millar, you can also check Y: The Last Man and Old Man Logan. Garth Ennis stuff is good too like Preacher and his run on The Punisher. And If you want to discover/read more manga I'd say: Berserk, Uzumaki, One Punch man(you said you don't like the battle/fighting genre but this one is a parody super fun/easy to read), 20th century boys(same author of Monster).

I love My Friend Dahmer, Nimona, & The Prince and the Dressmaker! I've read a few Tillie Walden before, but really want to get to all her backlist! Graphic Novels are so beautiful - I wish I had a larger collection!!

Me too! I know my collection is a decent size but there are so many more I want and they take up so much space aha, it's definitely going to be an issue later down the line! :')

Getting into Marvel and DC is tricky if you don't want to wade in blind and risk reading some not great stuff, especially as graphic novels aren't cheap. If you want some more cool standalone Spider-Man I'd recommend Tangled Web. It was an anthology series of Spider-man-adjacent stories and you can get the entire thing in one big hardback omnibus, or as paperbacks, which are out of print now but not too expensive second hand. For Batman, there are a tonne of great standalone stories that are real classics like Arkham Asylum, Long Halloween, Year One, and The Cult. He's a character with an 80 year history so it's worth finding out what period you prefer, if you like the new stuff, etc. His rogues gallery is also fantastic and you might enjoy Ed Brubaker's Catwoman series which started in 2002. You can buy the whole thing in six numbered paperbacks and it really is great. And aside from superheroes, definitely try Amy's Ghost by Vera Brosgol! If you liked Be Prepared, you'll adore Anya's Ghost. Also Nailbiter from Image. A great horror series about detectives investigating a town that breeds serial killers. Both are in print and easy to find!

Oh wow, thank you for all the recs!! They all sound great! Really want to read something from Ed Brubaker since I always see people raving about Criminal, will definitely make that a priority this year! Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment

If you haven't already got it somewhere stashed away, I couldn't recommend Hugo more, it's steampunk but not in a far less generic way than the film is and the illustration style is to die for
