This video is a sketchbook tour with an extra “portrait painting process” section. I have been doing a lot of work prompted by Emma Carlisle’s Patreon and also a lot of work based on my own inspiration. What you’ll see here is a mix of acrylic and collage pieces of portraits and street scenes.
Thank you for clicking on this description! At the moment I uploaded this video, my subscriber count was 3931 people. Thank you for watching my videos and leaving delightful comments; it makes youtube so much fun.
There are amazon affiliate links sprinkled around in here. These are items that I have found to bring joy to my life and I hope they do the same for you. If you click on the link and actually buy something (anything!) from amazon, I will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you - and that encourages me to keep making videos.

Yes! In retrospect, it’s like… of COURSE the water should reflect the colors of the sky, but, well… these are the things we learn as we grow. :-) Thank you for your kind words.

Kendra, I am so thrilled to have found you and in particular, this video. I'm always searching for artists that seem to be like-minded in the way they approach their process, and I will unapologetically say, their work actually reminds me of my own! Because I love my stuff! Even the raggiest little scribbles that lead to something; anything. Most importantly, I treasure growth by constantly learning from many talented artists world wide, in all kinds of styles, using tools of all sorts. I like to reference other artists on my social media and plan to do that often on my KZbin channel, which features sketchbook tours, my fav thing! Greetings from Dallas!

This was such a great video and loved seeing all the beautiful artwork, but it was all the little tips and the way you thought that made this as Mastercard would say priceless!😂

Amazing! I am so happy when you post another video. I love the way you do backgrounds. So loose and free. You seem to just clean off your brush from working on the focal point and then blend? I'd love you to do a slower talked through explanation so I can start to grasp that. You make it look so organic so I guess it just flows out? Any pointers to help us get to that goal? 🙏

Hi Sue! Thank you for your kind words. When I’m working, I have to shift from the left brain (the side that thinks things through logically) to the right brain (intuitive and visual)… and therefore, even when I watch back what I’ve done, I sometimes wonder: how did I think to do that? :-)

@@klwebuga I got that book after your recommendation and have worked through a few exercises and found them helpful. I guess I have to keep going.... Definitely the harder I try (right side of the brain..) the less I am happy with the results.
