Speaking openly about my hairloss journey has taken time, and I wanted to share it during Alopecia Awareness Month, and open up to you all about my life with Alopecia Universalis, and I hope it helps with acceptance and your own personal hairloss journeys.
I wanted this to be as honest and spontaneous as possible, so I filmed it one morning on the way to work, in a park/my car, so please bear that in mind if you see the some shaking or fluctuations in sound & light.
A big shout out to @michemoffatt @thebaldiemovement for giving me strength and encouragement through your platforms 💙

Hello dear, thank you for sharing your personnal journey with Alopecia. Everybody is different, every grieve is also different. I have Alopicia and TE . Since 20 years, was kind of alone in the process of lost and regrow. People asumed I had cancer, or had cancer again. on my first of 5 surgeries, I had a Near Dead Experience. Our Soul is pure Light and Love. Human body very ugly. This is the harder thing to learn: Love yourself as much as you love your most precious ones. This is a life time journey to acheive inner peace and joy. I still have to reminde me this experience pretty often on my fifth times starting losing hair. Love and peace to you. May the Light and Love bless you! xxx

Thank you for the inspiration from the other side of the world. I am in America. Realizing that Alopecia does not culturally or nationally discriminate. Much love.🥰

First, you'repretty cheap wig or no wig, but that goes without saying. **big hugs** I empathise with the link between hair and perceived femininity. I shaved my head when I had a big shed again in 2016 and I was lucky to feel liberated but I felt so much discomfort around people, thin spotty hair or shaved, it felt uncomfortable. No one should feel that way in society so it is really helpful that people at all stages of hair loss share their experience so society itself changes. One thing that strikes me is the medical aspect, how you were initially treated, and the mental health side of the experience. That is an aspect I think maybe we don't talk about a lot. Across the board the way doctors treat patients generally is important to talk about. I can relate to the difficulties you faced with being told it was all down to stress and the GP medicating you for anxiety rather than taking your concerns seriously. That occurs so much and delays all sorts of diagnoses, causing patients **stress** anxiety, and depression. Thanks for sharing, Kim. I didn't realise you had a YT channel til today! Much love and empathy! Thank you! ❤❤❤❤

thanks so much for checking out my video! I am taking slow steps into sharing my channel and have kept it to my immediate IG/FB hairloss subscriber group initially. I really appreciate your feedback and comments - within my video I really wanted to shed the light on how some Doctors to not appropriately treat or look for the root cause of hairloss. I think it has been 2-3 times Dr's have prescribed anti-anxiety medication!!! I feel like we are the lucky ones in that we are trying to change the way society perceives us... so many men and women feel repressed and have the need to cover-up the hairloss or whatever else they are going through because a bigger part of our society is so judgemental . Hopefully through this medium we can offer the support and provide some insight into what we go through and how we take the steps to overcome and power through our journey . Sending you much love from across the ditch ❤️❤️
