I related to this SOOOO much !! Especially when you talked about hair falling on your arms & breaking down about your hair loss 😩😩 I’m currently at the beginning of my hair loss fiasco, & it’s been devastating to say the least.. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone, but it’s comforting to know I’m not alone .. Love from America 🇺🇸 Xx

I’m right here with you. Since March my hair has shed around 50% every day I wake up anxious knowing that I’ll end the day with less hair than the the day before. The relentless shedding is soul destroying. My mind is burdened by constant focus on the telegen effluvium. Every minute feels like I’m battling to cover the reality of how bare my scalp has become. My hair was never thick, it’s naturally fair and thin but I always had a healthy full amount. My ponytail or braid was always robust. Now if I braid my hair it’s literally less than half of what it was. It’s incredibly confronting to feel the pity of friends and family when they become aware. The energy is almost palpable, as though their observation is an entity in itself when they see for themselves how much of my hair has been lost. I’ve had to shorten the length from mid back to shoulder length but still it’s not enough to create an appearance of volume. The cold air cuts a chill through the bare scalp where my hair used to grow. The new scalp sensations just exasperate the bleakness of the situation. It’s impossible to think in another direction when I’m physically aware of the exposure. I just want off this sickening ride. I need the shed to end even if it’s temporary. The emotional contention has been unwavering and I’m desperate for reprieve. I didn’t realise how much my hair played a role in my ability to function confidently in day to day life. It’s a big part in perceiving how to identify myself, how I saw myself within any given environment. It’s certainly for me a traumatic experience. My mother began chemotherapy for breast cancer 3days ago and my mother in law had a brain tumour biopsy the same day. I’m not so deluded to not understand my situation in comparison with theirs, it’s just hard to wake up one day having to confront this level of humility. Thank God for the shared insights and encouragement of those already navigating their way through the processes of circumstance. ❤️🙏🏻❤️‍🩹🙏🏻❤️

Same gurl, having trouble going out some days because I don't feel like myself anymore. I know I will have to shave it at some point but I'm just so not there in terms of accepting my condition. I have dermatite seboreica which makes the scalp produce dandruffs constantly so I hate to shower it cause it's so depressing going out of the shower with still dandruffs all over + hairfalling. Thank you so much for sharing your story. I am in my mid 40ies and started losing my hair when I was 42. Kept being told 'it's your age' and to take vitamins for hair so that's what I did. The pandemic started then as well so I put it down to stress. About 8 months ago I suddenly noticed how much hair I had lost and I could see my scalp. Went to a doctor in panic, they did all tests and they came back fine. I asked to be referred to the dermatologist who after looking at my scalp for less than a minute said 'you may have female baldness' so suggested I use minoxidil and take antudepressants (I suffer from anxiety due this). I decided to go to trichologist before I used or took anything, thry said that I don't have female baldness but telogen effluvium. They did some blood tests that showed that my ferritin was low. They put me on a high dose of iron and said most of my hair should grow back. Unfortunately I have got this gut feeling that it is androgenetic alopecia as most of my terminal hair is replaced with vellus hair plus my normally minor acne has been quite bad too. No family history of hair loss in women but my dad lost his hair fairly young and so did my brothers (so I may have that lovely gene too). Despite taking iron, using special shampoos my hair loss has not slowed down. I hate looking at myself in a mirror and I cry my eyes out every day. I just know I have it. I cannot imagine living without my lovely hair and study everyones hair with jelousy. Why me? :-(

@@s.l1736 😂 you never know! I have started looking at other people's hair when I'm out and about, it does seem that alot of women have thinning hair as they age. I think its just that we are bombarded with unrealistic standards where people have thick hair, whereas in real life I'm seeing its actually pretty common. It seems to be why elderly ladies have short hair, they cut and curl it so the hair they do have looks thicker. I think its a perfectly normal part of aging that's just not talked about at all. Take a look when you're out, I think you'll be surprised at how common it actually is.

Hello, I just want to write a few words.. My name is Natalia, Im 23 years old and Im from Poland. I used to have a thick hair as my whole family. No one has "a hair problem", even my grandparents at the age of 80-85 have thick hair, which makes me more uncomfortable.. My health was really good, i didnt have any health problems till i turned 21. Long story short - I was diagnosed with PCOS. My pcos symptoms were hirsutism and no period. I noticed that something is wrong with my hair in July 2019. I didnt visually notice it, I just felt while touching it on my scalp that something is wrong, that i have less hair.. I went to dermatologist , she said everything is fine, she doesnt see any androgenic alopecia symptoms. Now couple months later I was diagnosed with AGA, my hair is not my hair anymore.. I have a huge problem with my cofidence. Once, when i was at the University I made ponytail, cause my hair was disturbing me while I was writing, and I noticed a weird look from my teacher and my friend.. I went to the toilet and I saw that I made ponytail so badly, that my bald parts were easy to be seen.. In Poland we have 2 companys that make toppers and wigs. Both of them are far away from the city I live in. But I had this Chance to go to one of them, I tried a topper, looked amazing but the price was 11 000 złotych and that is nearly 3 000 american dolars.. Im a student, im graduating this year, the prices in poland are so high and getting higher and higher, its so frustrating, cause i wanted to look beatufil on my graduating day, so special day for me.. And im not sure if i will have any hair till June, when im graduating. My andrigenic alopecia is so fast, and my hopes are so low.. You look amazing in this topper, i totally love it! My hair is dark blond but warm blond. I cry everyday , i cant get with the fact that im loosing my hair forever.. Its just not fair..

I lost most of my hair over my 20s. Very traumatic and made me depressed. Went on minoxidil and aldactone and still am on it. Helped to slow down hair loss but hair strands thinned out or 'miniaturised'. Dont know what will happen when i want to get pregnant. I will probably rely on wigs to cope with anxiety later. But i agree this experience has helped me become selfless and detach myself from physical beauty.

Back in October I got a rash on my leg that was spreading fast and becoming painful. It caused my foot to swell and there was little to no circulation from that leg to my heart. After various trips to the ER and many antibiotics after I was sent to see a dermatologist. On my 3rd appointment with my dermatologist he asked to get a 2nd biopsy done. This one would be much bigger, the size of a lip and deeper. I got the biopsy done and a week later during wound check the derm. who performed the biopsy had brought up my hair thinning to my dermatologist. It broke me inside despite trying to keep a straight face. My dermatologist was able to read the room and brushed him off mentioning that they had bigger issues to tackle; my leg. Ever since I was 22 I realized my hair was thin but my scalp wasn't as visible as it is now at age 29. Honestly I have put my hair loss/ thinning problem in the back burner ...I don't think I've been able to accept the fact that I have hair loss even though I hate taking pictures because all I see is my scalp. My dermatologist was so cool in my eyes because he appeared to stand up for me. He actually did the same thing again when the head dermatologist brought up my hair issue when he was brought in to see how my biopsy was healing. At that point I had mentioned to them that at the moment my hair loss wasn't my priority. I felt like everyone else but my dermatologist saw my scalp and hair loss only and not my skin issue. It really hurt because it felt like they were putting my hair issue into the spotlight even when I wasn't worried about it. Despite feeling this way I am so thankful to my dermatologist. He went out of his way to find the cause to my skin issue even after there was no known cause for it. He sent my biopsy to Mayo Clinic and ran many tests. He even discovered I have latent tb, and is following up with my pulmonologist regarding my treatment. I felt in good hands up until my last two appointments with him. He has talked to me about how I have androgenic alopecia and should highly consider spironolactone. I have been on so many pills now and will be on more for latent tb treatment so starting another treatment felt mentally exhausting. I was also beginning to feel cornered again into trying to face hair loss when I didn't even bring it up to them regarding wanting to treat it. It hurt my spirit 💔 especially cause I was already so down in the dumps emotionally. I was not able to work cause I work as a cashier and have to stand for 9+ hours. With a swollen foot and pain I wasn't able to even walk down the block before feeling terrible. Now I was stuck at home, feeling the most disconnected from everyone. I had so much time to think back on the times customers would stare at my scalp or when teens would come and make stupid comments amongst themselves that I was young and going bald. Just yesterday I came to the realization that I feel like I'm being guilt tripped into getting treatment for my hair loss. Mostly because in my last two appointments my dermatologist has wanted me to decide on what treatment to start for my androgenic alopecia. After saying I'd get back to him regarding spironolactone, he offered starting minoxidil as an alternative. He also mentioned starting a fungal shampoo which some users have noticed helped with hair growth. But I noticed each time I would ask questions regarding the treatment and what will happen after getting off the spironolactone or minoxidil he said "but you don't have to do it if you don't want to." It's mind boggling cause I never literally said "hey can we tackle my hair loss next doc?" Not once. I also felt like my dermatologist was not so into wanting to treat my hair loss??? The reason being is that while he went out of his way to help with my leg rash and tb, he never once inspected my scalp. He literally just explained to me what androgenic alopecia is and that I have it and he are your options basically. Not him or any of those dermatologists asked me about how I wash or treat my hair, what products I use. If my scalp is oily or dry if I have dandruff or dermatitis. So I felt like they were just throwing me a prescription and sending me on my merry way. Personally I think I'm going to take a break from the dermatologist. I have an appointment in January 2023 to see how my biopsy wound is going and to decide on hair loss treatment. But I feel like I need to work on my mental health before I try tackling my hair loss problem. If it is androgenic alopecia like he says then I also have to come to terms with my mental and emotional state first before tackling that as well. Before the leg rash and the TB I was falling into depression because of the same everyday routine. It was so hard waking up to go to work. My insomnia was so bad I hardly slept 3 hours. By the time I was waking up I was already thinking of ways to get out of having to go to work and it caused so much anxiety. Upon reading other comments in this community and others on yt I've realized that it will be a struggle to tackle hair loss and I'm so happy to know I'm not alone. Still it's very scary thinking that it may cause more mental stress and I don't know if I will be able to handle it. I hope that I am able to become stronger to maybe be able to go see a dermatologist regarding my hair loss in the near future. Maybe I'll garner enough strength to be able to tell my dermatologist why I am unable to come to a decision regarding androgenic alopecia treatment. Maybe I'll be able to tell him that I don't want any of them to just send me off with a prescription and instead treat me like an actual patient who has all these other stuff going on and needs to see more from them.

Today i went again for doc visit he suggested us PRP treatment and we did that. I hope that bring result 💯. Why their is no treatment for APA? science has evolved so much and no treatment for APA. Anyways loved your video❤💯 Love from India.

I've had thin hair from when i was little... by the time i was in high school (16 y.o) my hair started thinning even more. I tried many different oils, oil baths, rice water, etc.. for almost 2 years but no noticeable changes... By the time i was 21 i looked sick.. my hair thinned out to the point that my scalp was visible no matter what i tried.. i was miserable, i hated going out, i was stressed due to many things (college life, my hair, financial situation) I tried going to a dermatologist but the pills they prescribed didn't do sh!t so i was basically trying to convince myself that i'll have to live like this.. i looked horrible.. i evaded mirrors and wore beanies or hats all the time and always tried my best to keep my hair hidden When i was 24, i went to another dermatologist for a final attempt (my moms request) and thank goodness they were good at what they do. They requested a blood test saying that they should check first if the problem is caused by hormones, or the thyroid, or iron deficiency, before we can conclude that it's genetic. I'm willing to share my blood test results because i know whoever is reading this is probably searching for answers for their own problem... so i hope this helps. Blood test results showed that i had vitamin D deficiency, iron deficiency AND hypothyroidism. So i started with fixing those 3 plus the dermatologist felt like i should stimulate hair growth a little so they suggested using Minoxidil 5% for a period of 1 month only (they suggested this because i was honestly devastated.. i was already miserable from my hair situation, and realizing that i have hypothyroidism made me feel worse and i was having a hard time coping) Ps. Minoxidil 5% was very effective but also came with undesired side effects which is hair growth all over the body and face which i couldn't get rid of... facial hair grew back noticeably fast (4 days time) until 3 weeks after i stopped using Minoxidil 5% 3 months after i was diagnosed (so 2 months after i stopped using Minoxidil 5%) i went back for a check up and the doctor said that my hair has thickened (thanks to Minoxidil 5%) and gave me a PRP shot, i was also told that in autumn hair sheds and i should come back for a 2nd shot by the end of October (which is next week) 5 months after i was diagnosed (so 4 months after i stopped using Minoxidil 5%) my hair thinned back but now it's manageable as long as it's not oily, if i keep it clean i can get away with it (today, October 21st) I'm suspecting i have Androgenetic Alopecia but i have yet to talk to my doctor about it and see what they'll suggest.. i'm not willing to commit to Minoxidil nor PRP for the rest of my life, for many reasons, i heard of hair transplantation but i've no idea if it comes with risks/side effects and i know no one who did it so i'm hesitating, i don't know much about it either, i'm still researching this solution. Ps. i don't want to wear hair toppers or anything like that, no offense to anyone, it's just a stylistic choice Edit : i forgot to add that i'm 25 now ^^' Edit : (January 10, 2023) i long forgot about this comment but i'm back to update it now.. i talked to my dermatologist about Alopecia but they strongly refuted the idea and told me my condition is not the same as Alopecia. I'm relieved but also worried because i'm not sure "how" to treat my hair if idk what the problem is. The dermatologist says that my hair is naturally thin and my nutrition (and stress) can affect its volume and health. I've been prescribed food supplements (called Novophane, please google it for more details). In February i'm getting my 3rd PRP shot. Also i've been using Minoxidil 2% during December 2022 and January 2023. So that's it, that's my story, hope this helps, if you have any questions you can reach me on my instagram @yass_jay9 :)

I tried almost everything.. people said try rice water. Did tat too... rice water didn help with hair fall but after using it due to its starch content my hair got little stiff and bouncy.. I know it’s temporary but to hide wat u want to hide... we have to use temporary measures.. not to satisfy others... but to lie ur self sometimes that all is well. 🙃

I'm currently going through hair loss, mainly at the very back of my head where no one usually experiences it but a little bit all over too, my part has gotten a bit wider and harder to cover, my hair texture has changed too. My dermatologist diagnosed me with telogen effluviam but I don't believe that's what it is. I'm convinced mine is due to genetic hair loss. I struggle everyday with the thought of losing my hair, which has always been fine and quite thin to begin with, but videos like this show me I'm not alone.

hi, I loved your video ! I related to your story so much ! Just to say that 'Androgenic Alopecia' is a male pattern hair loss usually.. it's due to Testosterone transformation into DHT thanks to 5-alpha-resuctase... the DHT sticks to a receptor that is mostly on the front of the head (thats why men don't lose hair from the back of their heads) which leads to hair fall... Finasteride blocks this enzyme (5-a-r) from converting Testosterone to DHT, which leads to "decreasing" hair loss.. anyway like how positive you are ! Wishing you all the best !

Im not sure if i have alopecia or not. But as I knew since im born i have very thin hair. Especially at my hairline and my temples area. Many hair style i cannot rock it bcause of my hair line. What make it look more worst is i have big forehead too. Big forehead plus thin hair line. If i make ponytail it will shows my scalp. So sad. I usually let my hair down to cover the thin hair line. Sometimes i feel ugly but what can i do is i accept myself and always be grateful to god. To be compare with other im still so much lucky. Im healthy, i have home, i have foods, i have family. Just dont put so much stress about your appearance. Because you don’t deserve that stress.

We have such a similar story... I also had a "trigger"(in my case, the contraceptive pill), and I had so much thick hair before that it was almost annoying, and I wished I had less. What do they say? Be careful what you wish for... 20 + years later, my hair is 10 times less than it was back then. But I don't give up. When I have good times, I can get by using keratin fibers, and I even venture into bleaching them blonde (yep, don't ask!) I keep them long, and even if they are so thin that I don't even feel the weight, I don't want the illness to control me 100%. I have 2 boxes of hair pieces at home, wigs, bangs, you name it. But I still don't use any of them to go out. I get by. I have more or less the same amount of hair you have (maybe slightly less on the sides), and I also get the usual "oh, but you have hair. Is it not that you're bald!" Not knowing that I was a model for hairdressers when I was young to earn a little money. I suffered so much in silence during these years; my scalp is visible if I don't use the fibers, and my hair is very thin, so they don't know what it's like. But I now try to see the positive side and try different things. Now I'm experimenting with halo extensions because since I have blonde hair, everyone who knows about my alopecia told me that I seem to have more hair. It must be the color. Who knows! I out the fibers, then the halo, and adjust the front. It's a job, and I never feel 100% comfortable, but it is what it is. I made peace with it and now even help people who suffer from hair loss via my website. I want to give something to others instead of crying about my hair loss. As you said, everyone has their own journey, and we need to deal with this as best as we can, possibly with a smile and come out stronger than we were :)

Yo I turned 18 2 weeks ago and was just diagnosed with female pattern baldness. It's so fuckin frustrating, cuz all my relatives got it with 50 and older and here I am getting it the second I turn 18. I went to the doc and they're putting me on some meds however rhe fact that they can't guarantee anything is so scary and makes me so pissed at my shitty ass genes. I swear our genes are so ass

Oh my, My hair started falling out a few months after I lost my brother and I never really put that together. It never grew back, it just got thinner and more brittle then I started using extensions and I blamed all of my problems on that.

Hi lusta ❤️ I have been shedding super short hairs (less than an inch) with normal long hairs lately and I am worried now. (Not breakage! They are tapered at the ends) Did you experience shedding short tiny hairs? We don’t have any hair loss in our family so I’m not sure what’s going on but I’m worried. :( I had the same thick hair growing up too. It was like a blanket!! I don’t know what happened. As soon as I hit 35 it dramatically got fine and thin overnight. I have no idea why! As I said we have zero genetic hair loss issues in our family. My mom is 69 and still has super thick hair. I don’t get it!

That is I had very thick hairs in childhood and used to not like but gradually with years it got thin and thin and it can only seen by me. Hence 6 months back I consulted trichologist .. and came up to know that I have FPB .I took 3 months of medicine to stop it.. but after that it again started to get more thin and more Hair Fall. Was researching about It what's the best solution excluding the medicines and treatment.Came up with ur video. And it really gave me a little confidence .Can you suggest me on this
