Just a personal tip for anyone who has severe seborrheic dermatitis, personally I will stand by my holy grail Flaxseed Gel hairmasks forever! I had seborrheic dermatitis for 7 years without knowing it, to the point my entire scalp was red and fully covered in inflamed patches. At that time my hairloss also kept getting worse so I tried a flaxseed gel hairmask mixed with olive oil and almond milk, and instead of hairgrowth is ended up getting rid of ALL the inflamed skin patches in just 4 weeks (2x a week application before the shower). Its now been 6 years since I got diagnosed with it, and I still use it whenever it gets bad. My sister recently also got diagnosed with it and tried medical shampoos and many other things, and got a special shampoo from a scalp technician, but also says the only thing thats worked consistently is flaxseed gel. I stopped mixing anything in it personally as I found out the oil was triggering my seborreic dermatitis again, so I just use flaxseed gel plain for 30-60 min every now and then. Ofcourse this might not work for everyone, but even if it doesnt work it is a great protein based hair masks aswell and has benefits outside of this too :)! For me it just ended up being a miracle, and did give me some hairgrowth. Sadly I do think my hair wont ever fully recover because my seborrheic dermatitis went unknown for 7 years when I was a child, but I'm glad something atleast can keep it at bay. I also 100% stand behind ketoconazole shampoo and salicylical acid! sadly I'm in the EU and the only brand I found with salicylical acid in its shampoo isnt sold anymore, so I'm using charcoal based shampoos instead to atleast keep the scalp a bit cleaner. But when I did use it, it was also a great addition. And thank you for mentioning how seborrheic dermatitis inflammation CAN cause hairloss! My doctor kept denying its possibility, yet my dermatologists are still unable to figure out why I lose hair as it doesnt seem to be genetic either. I'm pretty certain the 7 years of unchecked inflammation really messed my scalp up, so its ''nice'' to hear that it is an actual possibility. Great video like always!

If you have a lot of sebum plugs it can cause hair loss too, and for my case the hair never grew back. I have a combo of seborrheic dermatitis and sebum. I have been using apple cider vinegar to help with the SD, but I noticed it comes on when I'm stressed. I will try this mask next time. Thank you!

Hey, I am a GP, and I thought I had just dandruff, same symptoms as you, sensitive, flaky, hair thinning… so I was treating myself for malassesia for many years and things were not getting better… That was when I searched for a dermatologist specialist in hair, Trycologist, and she took a biopsy of my scalp… sooo it was not just dandruff, turns out I have a kind of auto imune scalp disease called fibrosis alopecia, I am treating it now, and my hair looks wonderful again! The thing is, I don’t how easy it it in you country to get specialized help, and the price to do treatment and exams… but I thought I should say something to you! Wish you the best

@@christinemonte3477 I decided to go to a trichologist and through scalp inspection she saw some different things and I had a biopsy. Good info. I'd like to add something though. If you are like me and a woman who has hair loss in a particular spot (for me it's in the center and front of my scalp) this is typical male pattern baldness and may mean you have high testosterone, which typically means polycystic ovary syndrome (it could be other conditions but PCOS is definitely the most common). But a lot of the advice here can help you if you have PCOS, ie probiotics, protein, vitamin B and d, stress relief etc. But there's a lot of other conditions you might have that PCOS is also causing (acne, infertility, obesity, menstrual irregularity, etc). PCOS starts showing during puberty (which is at a early age for us) but it wasn't until my mid-twenties (a few years ago) that my balding unveiled this. I'd had a lot of hair fall as a teen but no bald spots until recently. Anyway, I wish my cysters luck with their PCOS if that's the source of their alopecia.

I have found by doing a double cleanse I don't have any flakes now. I also find dry shampoo makes my scalp worse and more irritated, so I've stopped using it. I'm going to get a scalp analysis soon so I'm hoping that will get to the root of the issue no pun intended. 😉 I think I most likely have dandruff or seborrheic dermatitis.

Things that have helped me: - Dandruff: My dandruff comes back in regular intervals (every 3 or so months). It is due to sebhorreic dermatitis in my case. If this is the reason, you can use a shampoo that contains selenium sulfide, like selsun blue. I use Davines purifying shampoo, which also contains this ingredient. I only have to use it twice and then my dandruff usually disappears again for a good 3 months. - Hair loss: At the start of this year, I suddenly started losing a lot of hair. What might explain this as well is that I probably have Sjogren's, I've had a couple of tests done and am going to have some more, it all sort of points in that direction. I had high stress levels and wasn't living the healthiest when I started losing hair. This helped: Prioritizing health. Getting a good night of sleep most nights, exercising, eating healthy and drinking lots of water. I upped my dosage of vitamin D, and take vitamin C, all the omegas, a multi for women and a hair multi as well. Have been doing that since January. When it comes to haircare, I use Kerastase genesis shampoo which is geared towards hair loss. It's also important to clarify your scalp every now and then, especially when you use a lot of styling products. I also like The Ordinary's hair serums and use them a couple of times a week (the peptide hair density serum and the HA moisturizing serum. In my opinion, what I eat has made the most difference.

I feel thinning hair is mostly due to our hormones. Even if it's genetics, you can change the expression of those genetics by changing the environment being provided - environment means nutrition, hormones, daily patterns. I personally recovered and even improved my hair growth by doing the following combination (doing one won't do much): 1. Fragrance free shampoo - paraben free shampoo: Either one. When hair is suffering, shampoos like head and shoulders will destroy and damage your hair follicles. 2. Scalp Massage everyday for 20 minutes: Vessels get blocked very easily, but also get unblocked easily by just scalp massage, its proven and understood, just people are lazy. 3. Taoist soap for hair growth 2x a week not more: targets inflammation and boosts hair growth using daoist herbs based on Korean Daoist medicine. 4. Collagen powder 2x a day: Nutrition aspect that covers all nutrition needed to support hair growth. 5. Nettle Tea to detox your liver from hormone residue: this is very often misunderstood - just have nettle tea everyday - it helps in millions of ways. Its helped guys too, my brother whos in mid 30s also has maintained hair with this regimen. Problem is everyones lazy, they just one 1 thing to fix everything, which is not going to happen with a complex thing like hair growth. My 2 cents anyway! =_

This was great except for one thing: fragrance allergies/sensitivities. I had horrible, patchy flaky dandruff with redness. I was also in searing pain from head-to-toe. This all started after I had my kid. I went to an amazing dermatologist and he said to go fragrance-free on everything I used: dish soap, laundry detergent, fabric softener, EVERYTHING that carried scent. He even told me to ditch head and shoulders because of the fragrance. Not one flake since. Of course to treat the redness of my scalp, I used the medicated shampoo he prescribed. It was brilliant, but after that I went on a product research spree and found a few long term brands that fit what I wanted. No one mentions that every time you have a kiddo, your body has potential to lose some of its resistance to allergens. Also as you age or your hormones change, it can throw you for a biochemical loop. Because there’s oils that lock in that fragrance onto the scalp, it’s sealing the irritation to your head and everything else it touches.

I believe it was triggered by a toner that i put on my face that irritated the scalp along my hairline and eventually migrated to larger patches of my scalp. But after I stopped using the toner, the inflammation was reduced but still very bad. I tried just about every topical scalp treatment/shampoo/serum. They help temporarily but no major improvement. So frustrating but I started to take some ceramide oral supplement (I got it for my skin health, and was not even thinking about my scalp) but that seem to make a huge difference within a couple of weeks. about a year ago my whole head has gotten itchy and is so dry. if i itch my head for a second a bunch of flakes come off its so annoying. i think its been causing my hair thinning also because my diet has been very bad. im hoping that with eating all the recommended foods and eating healthy things will change. love this video thank you!!
How you prep it? Like a tea of both plants, same amount? then drain and rinse after watching, I'm interested 🙏
@SimplySuzy33 Жыл бұрын
@@ggkpopcurator6292 I boil the rosemary, then drain the water with a strainer into a jug. Let it cool (obviously 😂). Then just add a strong brew of nettle tea to the jug. I never measure the amounts, I just wing it 😉

I feel like I found this too late for anyone to be able to help, but I have oily skin and an oily scalp, and on top of that I tend to sweat more than what I think would be considered normal. I've always double washed I just tend to wash my hair every other day. Recently I've noticed my scalp is producing more oil than before and I've noticed thinner hair. Even after watching this and other videos I still feel lost as to at least what products to use since I don't seem to have any type of dandruff or irritation, at least from what I can tell...

Thank you for this video. I had been stressed by my dandruff and itchy scalp. I may have the same condition as you. I bought a hair blower/dryer and my shampoo is now organic. After not leaving my hair wet after shower, I find my dandruff and bumps on my scalp gone after just a week. I think it's bacterias I got on my hair that caused my dandruff. Keeping it dry keeps the bacteria from growing.

A lot of dermatologists recommend washing your hair every two to three days, longer than that builds up sebum and sometimes clogs skinparticles in the hairfollicles, hence dandruff becomes heavier too❤👍 It also leads to more hairloss.

I’m taking care of my hair. I have a bald hairline and bald spots in some areas. I think it’s due to ponytails, dandruff, stress, and rubbing my head (hair follicles) Then they would fall out and die. I use rosemary I purchased from target recently. Hope that works. My second option is to save the budget for a $3000 hair wig that looks natural to my chestnut brown hair. That would be overlayed with my hair. Plus I think hair wig are becoming somewhat normalized in society. *tip check the ingredients in your shampoo bodles or conditioner leave ins. I couldn’t handle the ingredient of alcohol. It would always dry my scalp and burn.

I think you would have to target multiple aspects of hair and skin to get the best results - from circulation, inflammation, nutrition as well as detox - those are the minimum.

I’ve used so many highend brands to extremely expensive products to treat my dandruff but none of them worked. My hair was falling badly, scalp was dried and flaky and oil as the same time, I literally gave up on it and accepted that I have to wash my long hair daily to keep it clean and less dandruff. Unknowingly, I visited my parents house during Memorial Day and used their head&shoulders shampoo, surprisingly, it worked😭😭😭. Y’all should give it a shot tbh since it’s so affordable.

Worth considering that the water we shower in & the region we're in may play a role in our hair, scalp & skin's health. It's the concept of Hard Water & how copper among other debree/particles/chemicals like chorine in our water may be irritating our body. Some regions may be more diligent with their watrr filtration, some houses may be so old that the pipes have started corroding & contaminating the water & so on. So maybe your parent's water was cleaner and not as irritating as your places is. (Unless it was indeed the shampoo & it's still working for you even at home)
