For anyone who deals with knotted hair when you've just got out of the shower... 1) Wrap your hair in a towel and squeeze gently to remove excess water. Never rub you hair; it causes frizz and breakage. 2) Let your hair dry a bit before you put product or a brush/comb in it. Let your towel soak up as much water as it can, then let your hair down to air dry. WATER MAKES YOUR HAIR EXPAND, THIS IS WHY IT'S SO DELICATE AND BREAKS/GETS KNOTTED WHEN WET. 3) Your hair actually soaks up more product when it's drier. Put leave-in conditioners or styling products in damp hair, not wet. 4) When you brush (DAMP) hair, start at the ends and work your way up. use small motions to gently separate hair. This way, you're not pushing all your knots together into one giant lump, and they will be easier to get out. I hope that's helpful to someone. Granted, I have very straight hair like Fleur, so I can't speak to other hair types.

Totally agree with all these points. I have very fine hair which is crazy knotty when wet. I always leave it to air dry a little before going in with the brush - it's much less painful that way!! :)

Katie Duncan Honestly, I never thought that straight hair can get so knotted as you're discribing it or gets time to . I am surprised. I thought that it is an issue with curly hair.

khardala I'm sure having hair that lies in a straight line, rather than squiggly or curly, makes it easier to comb or brush, but hair strands of all shapes gravitate towards each other. Hair strands want to stick together! It's lonely out there in the big wide world! :p

I have always used a rich conditioner and a wide tooth comb in the shower to remove knots. I never brush wet hair. Hair is at its weakest when wet and should not be brushed until dry. Mason Pearson (mixed bristle) are the best brushes I have ever used. I didn't like Wet brushes or Tangle Teasers. I have long thick hair.

I 100% agree about the wet brush vs tangle teaser! I had used a tangle teaser for like 2 years and within the last 3 months switched to a wet brush and I am so in love! Way better, especially if your hair is on the longer side

A friend bought me a wet brush (we do synchronized swimming together so I really needed it) and it's a life savior!!! I didn't think it'd actually work but not only does it brush my hair really easily, it also gives me just the right amount of volume and makes my hair much more disciplined. I love it!!!

The Aveda Dry Remedy Daily Moisturizing Oil is my go to hair oil. It makes my hair soft, shiny, and manageable. It doesn't weigh my hair down or make it greasy like most oils do. I have to agree with you on several points. One, I love my wet brush more than my tangle teaser. Two, my ghd eclipse I bought on your rec many years ago & it still works as if it's brand new. I will have to try to find the new leave in in the short round bottle just to give it a go. I know I've told you before that once I tried the unite 7seconds I've never been without it and that was sooo long ago, I can't even remember if it was you & mikes first place or if it was when you still recorded in your old bedroom. I have a GHD curve creative wand and it's a bit more tapered at the end than the wand you have! It works great too. My favorite hair styling product ever is probably bumble&bumble hairdresser's invisible oil primer! I have normal to oily hair and this stuff does not weigh my hair down and makes my styles last longer. I think this range is marketed toward dry hair people so I think you should give it a try. :) I also like the b&b dryspun finish and salt spray. And ouai's dry shampoo foam is really fun to use.

Great video! Try steam irons, there are a good ones in the market, I have the babbyliss Pro steam irons ST395. If you put water and 2-3 argan oil drops your hair gets so shiny and healthy. I find it better results than ghd in terms of quick straighten, less damage and more shine plus hydration.

I have been so in love with Bumble & Bumble styling products lately! I really like the Prep spray and I use it with either the volumizing spray or the volumizing mousse and my hair has just been so well behaved and full. I use the Kevin Murphy Angel Masque as a deep Conditioner mask it´s pricey but worth every penny

I would highly recommend the milk_shake Integrity Treatment. It's a mask treatment conditioner and it's amazing. I have very long hair (I'm 5'10" and it reaches my backside), and it's in great condition because of this stuff (and their Incredible Milk). It leaves the lengths of my hair soft and silky, but still full of body, and I don't have many split ends. Milk_shake's whole range is worth checking out. I also use the colour maintainer shampoo and conditioner, which are sulphate and paraben free, and it smells delicious- like a soft caramel scent.

You should try the Caudalie Divine Oil , it's a my favorite product for dry hair. I've also been using the Elizavecca CER 100, it does miracles at detangling long hair and the packaging is just too cute. I'm also looking for something that works for frizzy hair, but no success so far.
