Kongo Kingdom ancestry in Haiti (the 2 Congos, Angola and Gabon) was more predominant in the 2nd half of the slave trade. It's said that of the African-born slaves, 2 out of 3 were from the Kongo at the time of the Revolution.

Awesome video!!! I hope this dispels a lot of colorism! Look at her mother’s complexion and she has less European ancestry in her results than a lot of blacks who have higher European percentages. Just goes to show that phenotypes only tell a tiny piece of the story and doesn’t always reflect what you find in your DNA as one would assume. Love this! So fascinating 💕

28.7% is higher than the average amount, which is 25% for black americans!!! Anymore than that and a person is flat out biracial. Most likely, someone in her recent ancestry (parent for the mom, and grandparent for Vanessa) was biracial. 😂 Most black as a diaspora do not typically have higher than 25%.

This is why I don't understand the conflict between us, Haitians and Jamaicans. There's no difference except where the ships stopped.

It specifically states where in the Caribbean, even stating the township. If you know, where your parents, grandparents are from, it’ll make perfect sense to you. The DNA dates back to 1725, so if you want to go beyond that it’s following the paper trail/documents: census forms, birth certificates, marriage certificates, death certificates, church records, etc

My other 12 percent is 10% French and 2% Native Indigenous- American. My mothers side are all mulatto (that’s what they were called and what is on the census so dont come for me) Creoles/Creoles of Color) and my dad is African with NO European admixture).

I find it interesting that they have Spanish Portuguese listed under European. If you study and research you will find that in the 1400's there was a very large population of Black Jews that self identified as being direct descendants of the House of David from the Bible. These Black Jews were exiled from Portugal and Spain, and some left while they could, but many stayed until the Catholic Church started persecuting, torturing and killing them for the crime of Heresy. Yes the Christian Church killed these Black Jews because they wouldn't denounce their God and beliefs to become "Christian". Their children were sold into slavery, most ending up in Africa in an area under Portuguese control called the "Slave Coast". On old maps this is also labeled "Kingdom of Judah". It was also a Papule Bull or order from the Papacy that made it legal for these people to be rounded up and sold into chattel slavery in perpetuity. I know, I know. It's throwing you off because your thinking, "if we are the Jews, then who are those people over there claiming to be us"? Think about it. If we had just turned up missing these people who have the most famous book in the world wrote to them and about them, people would have went looking and they would have found us. But if no one is looking..... In case you're not picking up what I'm putting down just know this. They know who we are, but our people do not know. But this ignorance is slowly being cast off as more of us wake up to the truth.
