I feel like the internet is the main source of good hamster information to a lot of people. (Besides the terrible stuff, like encouraging people to buy pets so you can say you have one). I didn’t even know they had cheek pouches at first! I took a picture of every setup I had, and I plan to put them all together in a video, so I can see how much it changed. Even a year after, being hamster-less for… reasons, I would have changed so much about them.

I'd be super interested in a video about all your hamsters! 🐹 That would be so much fun! Edit: I mean this from my heart, the fact that you put so much research into these hamsters means a lot. Not only did you learn what you were looking at, but you also put it to work in reality and MADE-IT-HAPPEN. That fact right there is overwhelmingly inspirational. Thanks for sacrificing time, money, and furniture for this little guy 😜

Fantastic video, the care you give all your animals is incredible. I was wondering if you ever considered keeping mice? You can keep females in groups and they are really fun to watch. I know mice would really love your set ups. They love to burrow but also love to climb and you can see them most active during dawn/dusk and during the night. They will all sleep together in a pile and it is super adorable.
@kittenmimi53263 жыл бұрын
Omg yeah for mice! They're super smart, cute and also for enrichment they will certainly love all sorts of hanging toys.... can finally use up all that extra overhead space. A hamster can't since they'll just fall but it's so cute watching mice climb!
@pluschraupe3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! ☺️ I love mice but I prefer hamsters :) I don‘t really want group animals as I don‘t want the stress of having to socialize them etc. And tanks are not really considered the best for mice where I live as the ventilation isn‘t good enough. :)

You’re very hard on yourself w the way you view your hamster enclosures. They are all beautiful & any hamster would be blessed having you for an owner. So many people, including myself, started w tiny cages & little to no enrichment. Here you are, doing above & beyond any hamster owner I’ve ever seen! Also, I am so sorry your hamster journey has been so sad 😞 I hope your hamsters now are healthier & living longer now ♥️♥️♥️

Love the setups, stop saying they're hideous. They're fine, the ramparts, stairs, bridges, plants, play pens, great as long as the hamster approves. Everything is well thought out. They have more living space than you do. Sorry to hear you lost two so soon. Mine usually lived a year and half. They all died suddenly within a day, but they also had black tick marks on there bellies the size of rice. Have you seen this before? If I get another one lm building a small keep with walls , ramparts and moat. Those wheels are huge are they 12" ? Does your family ever think they should of just gotten you a cat? Thx.

Can you do a video explaining dwarf & Syrian hamster enclosure needs differences?
@dripdrop31363 жыл бұрын
Well Syrian hamsters need 10-12 inch wheels(depends how big it is) and dwarves need 8 inch wheels, but robo dwarfs can use a 6.5 inch wheel but bigger the better! I recommend 750 sq inches do both of them! Btw female Syrians tend to want more space but all hamsters are different
@JuliahistoryLover3 жыл бұрын
@@dripdrop3136 do you know if they need different substrates or different layouts for their enrichment? I have a male Syrian hamster moving him from a 40 gallon to a 75 gallon tank but I never see him so idk what he likes to do. He just lives in his burrow. He does have the largest niteangel wheel, & I put a tiny seed in it so I’d wake up if he uses it, he does seem to like it but he knows I’m coming & hides by the time I get to see him. The shelter just called me about a momma & babies surrender & they are in a 75 gallon tank for now. I got her a the second largest niteangel wheel, I think it’s the 8/9” ? But I can’t put it in until the babies are out. My male Syrian & female seem completely different personalities I’m shocked almost like different species

Hi, I love your videos and I think that your enclosures are AMAZING. But i do want to say (no hate) that the health issues might have been caused by your bedding. Obviously you know what you are doing and I don’t know what the issues where, but it is just a tip :) ❤
@pluschraupe Жыл бұрын
Thank you, I‘m glad you like my videos. I do however find the second part of your comment a bit strange because as you said yourself, you don‘t know what the health issues were, then how do you think you could tell that they could in any way have been related to the bedding? And do you know what bedding I use exactly? I use spruce shavings, which are perfectly safe for hamsters. So no, the health issues were not in any way related to the bedding. But thank you for your comment :)
