I fell into Hashimoto in 2017, like you, and I've met SIX doctors without finding an answer to my encreasing problems. After a year of struggles, I found this illness and asked for exams. And here I am, with a medicine, a scrumbled life and little more. This is our battle, we can do it! Thank you for sharing your experience!

I just found this. My cousin has this and hearing your story has given me a new understanding of how she is. This is also helping with a project I'm doing for my graphic design degree. We're supposed to come up with a health awareness ad campaign, and this is what I've chosen to do. I see the struggle my cousin and others who have it go through every day and it sucks, but she's a pretty strong person. To all who have it, stay strong and know that you got a support system from those who don't have it. 🙂♥

I was diagnosed almost 4 yrs ago with hashimotos. It took 1 yr 1/2 of going back and forth to many Dr's to get diagnosed . Just keep learning. I have educated myself. I have gone gluten, soy, whey & dairy free which has helped a lot. They keep telling me no meds because my levels are "normal".

I've had hypotyroidism as a child. There were many times I was seen for constipation, frequent bloody nose, weight gain, sore throat etc... Doctors never diagnosed me despite so many blood tests. As I got older things got worse. I had panic attacks, heart palpitations, anxiety through the roof, chest pain, shortnes of breath and the list goes on. I felt like a walking dead corpse and I almost was...The worse part about it was that although I tried to eat right I was bullied in every single grade and it felt like it was out of my control. I have the worse depression and I remember as a child having insomnia not being able to sleep at all I would break night and try and get myself to sleep. This really does something to you its terrible. Now even though I am on pills and my blood test looks "fine" I still feel like craaaap. I have very bad fatigue and now also have anemia and a whole grocery lists of other things I never tested positive for. I am very weak and struggle to get up in the mornings just to use the bathroom i have to drag myself its so hard on me. Im only 30 and wonder how much more can i take? I just want to throw in the towel.

I've had it undiagnosed from childhood too ,10-15 years untreated.I have requested for natural dessicated thyroid instead of levothyroxine ,sometimes changing the type of medication can help as NDT tends to have T3 + T4.You should look into the KZbin channel Dr Westin Childs , he's very knowledgeable about thyroid health and will explain why you may still feel fatigued etc. Hope you are doing better now.

Thank you for sharing your story. I’m a euthyroid, but have elevated antibodies thyroglobulin and thyroid peroxidase elevated enough that are making my quality of life awful. They are not as high as I hear from many people, but it’s so brutal trying to function. The doctor won’t prescribe meds until my TSH level is higher and won’t go off just the antibodies. I have changed my diet and dumped gluten as I had already dumped dairy and soy. I feel somewhat better, but still struggling with unbalance, fatigue and brain fog waiting to see what my antibodies are going to do. It is so helpful to hear people’s testimony about it. Hashimotos runs in my family with my mom, sister and a cousin of mine that has it. My mom has been helpful with information as she has been living with it for 27 years. God bless you for sharing!

I have had this disease since I was 9, although no one believed I was sick until I was 13. I hadn’t grown in four years, I lost hair, was always tired, sick, and fatigued. I still have joint pain and overall fatigue, as well as brain fog and depression. About a year and a half ago, I was diagnosed with Gastroparesis (caused by Hashimotos), which basically means my stomach can’t digest most food. I’m doing so much better now, but it really affects so much of your life. Thank you for this video, I hope you’re doing well.

Halli, So how are you feeling these days. I have had Gastroparesis as well as Type 1 Diabetes. The Gastro is my Tazmanian Devil as it complicates the ability to control my blood sugars. I have all of the symptoms for Hashimoto’s for about 14 years since I was in a bad car accident. The accident also caused my diabetes. It has been a crazy ride. The only symptom I did not experience was the loss of hair. But all of the others I have had and each time they simply put me on a new medication. Who would even think Depression should be investigated with bloodwork. I am now 57, and I have had autoimmune dealings since I was very young also. No need to mention them all, just that it would take 2-5 years for them to get the proper diagnosis. That in itself can drive one to feeling crazy. So anyway, I am wondering how you are doing with your Gastroparesis? I find the only things I can manage is a smoothie with protein powder and at night I allow some sunflower seeds and a small amount of oyster crackers. Every once in awhile I will eat a small meal, but rarely as I end up feeling not so good the next day. I find that Gastroparesis is finally getting the attention it needs. I asked my doctor why more people don’t know about it and she said, they think they have the flu so they stop eating and start over with small meals. I know they prefer 6 small meals a day, but I would feel like a beached whale. So I keep to my healthy smoothies and little snacks. I hope you have found some better solutions! If your energy allows I would love to hear how you are doing these days!! I hope you are on much healthier path by now!! Keep up the good fight, GastroGal

I identify with this a lot. I was diagnosed with Fibro this year but after family brought it to my attention, I’m being tested for Hashimotos tomorrow. My t4 was too low back when my symptoms started but my tsh was fine and it was never brought to my attention since that doctor discharged me without warning and never sent the records over. Sometimes we have to advocate for ourselves and find the right doctor. Anyways. What you said about changing as a person really speaks to how I feel exactly. Thanks for your story.

I'm so happy with my new functional medicine doctors. They are so awesome. Does anyone else often feel run down and almost "flu like" sick? I will go from feeling great most of the day to all the sudden feeling sick and fatigued. Then back to feeling fine all in one day. It's annoying. I also get a lot of headaches and when I do I basically ache everywhere. I am improving though a lot after finding my new doctors.

Sunny Dee Tee this still happens to me!!! it's so frustrating. i also found a huge correlation with this "flu like" feeling and my menstrual cycle. i noticed that about a week and half before my period i start feeling like this and it doesn't get better until a couple days after it starts. i'm sure it has to do with your hormones being out of whack. this also happens whenever i get sick with anything . i have this feeling for about 2 weeks during/after the illness.

I was diagnosed 10 years ago. I passed out when getting out of a bathtub and broke two bones in my foot. My TSH was 11. That was the only thing off in my bloodwork and my chiropractor ordered the blood tests for the antibodies or I still wouldn’t know about it. I did know I had “hypothyroidism” but didn’t know it was autoimmune. I’ve probably known at least 20 years at this point. I’ve had that weird joint pain in the knuckles occasionally.

Thank you for the video. Hashimoto's runs in my family. My mother and I have it; three of my female first cousins have it too. Diet plays a huge role indeed. I was able to reduce my TPO antibody count from 528 to 404 and TSH from 2.5 to 0.81 in 2 months by following a modified AIP diet (Wahls Protocol), intermittent fasting (14-16 hours) and by taking supplements (Vitamins D & C, NAC+Se+Mo, CINA 200, Coriander seed water and Milk Thistle). I don't know which of the supplements helped. But I lost 7 kgs in the process. My endocrinologist reduced my Thyroxine from 50 mcg to 37.5 mcg after seeing my test results. So, there is hope.

But being my own advocate, doctors are good but alot of time not real helpful. We do know our bodies, we know somethings wrong. I was dx with MS 22 years ago and back then I also beleive looking back Hoshimotos was in the mix way back then from all my symotoms that didn't go with MS. We have to not be put in a box with a dx. Just like everything us not Hoshimotos. We have to be educated and proactive! I hope after two years since doing this video you are more stable and doing well. Blessings, Marie Grace 🙏🍂🧡🌻🍁💛💪

Serenity Byrne hello! keep pushing for more testing. you're absolutely right, you need a full thyroid panel. most importantly, they need to check your thyroid antibodies. that's how they diagnosed me. my TSH, white blood cell count, and antibodies were all off as well as my t3. if they still refuse, try to find an endocrinologist who will listen, because they are the experts. don't let anyone tell you that it's in your head, your feelings are true and valid. let me know if you need any more help💕💕💕

I also have Hashimoto's. It has been a long road I first got diagnosed with thyroid without even knowing that the two went together. So I I took the synthroid for 10 years and throughout that time life and stress and trials, turmoils and the lose of loved ones took a real toll on my body to where I was at the point of borderline diabetes, heart failure, painful aches like fire in my back. I did finally found a holistic team who are amazing. When my lab results came back everything that was supposed to be high was low and everything that was supposed to be low was high my body was completely out of whack and when you say you had two weeks spans of completely being out of commission this went into like months to a year at a time of feeling like that at Max levels. Just to share with you a little of what I I have found . I'm constantly researching and reading and treating through juicing and Shakes green shakes- green shakes are the key and intermittent fasting has been the holy grail for me. It has made me feel so much better and I'm able to have many more stable feeling days. I also have added an isolant CBD oil daily which has helped me to completely get off my Synthroid like you said this is forever it's a life journey and even with all that I do with clean eating and exercise and doing all the right things I still have days or weeks or months that are just like you said- getting into your own head and distant and these awful funks of depression and loneliness. Thank you for your video it feels good to share this with someone else and no you are not alone blessings to you and your health I wish the best for you.

Oh good Lord. Your TPO was over 1400? Mine was only at 318 and my symptoms are INSANE! Oh you poor girl. ❤. I wasn’t put on any meds though. My T4 is low at 0.9 which is 1/10 of a point above normal but nobody thinks that’s a problem and all my other labs are within normal ranges but not optimal ranges, but doctors do not look at that. They only look at normal ranges. The problem with that is they test thousands and thousands of healthy adults all different ages, male and female and that’s how they come up with these “normal ranges”. That is not good. It’s too broad.

Wow my story is horrific!! After blood work my reg doc of 6 years said my thyroid levels were suspicious and felt I needed a needle aspiration which that doc failed at (didnt get enough cells) so after that experience I went to an ENT he wanted to take my whole thyroid out...thanksvto my daughter she said not to do that. Well I'm backed against the wall so I agreed to just taking out half of thyroid. When results came back there was no cancer. Great right.n9w I'm left with a 5" scar for nothing. His only plan of action was to put me on levothyroxine 50mcg. And said to do blood work in 6 weeks which I did and my TSH numbers had doubled that doc never called to discuss this so i called and he finally got back and sent a new script of levo.to 88mcg. Frustrated for these doctors now that's 3 doctors that are playin with my well being. So I too got on internet and read about changing diet no grains no sugar and no cruciferous veg. Ok thats my total diet. But I've started to make changes also read about vitamins magnesium selenium and complex so I bought them yesterday. God help us all cause the docs I had just doesnt care enough...

I was so tired, but I had insomnia. I was only sleeping about 4 broken hours of sleep at night. I had the same trouble with having a conversation and forgetting what I was talking about mid-sentence. I felt like a zombie. I was cold all the time. I finally got diagnosed. I tried Synthroid and it made me feel worse. I’m taking Cytomel only now. All the body aches and pains stopped. I’ve been doing research and really trying to change my lifestyle so I can finally start feeling better. Thank you for this video, it makes me realize I’m not alone. 💕

That brain fog happens to me constantly! I have been told that is just A.D.D, I have extreme back pain and joint pain, lethargy, hair loss, plus a million other things that noone ever has an answer about. I could deal with no answers and misdiagnoses previously, but having to grit my teeth and use all the strength I have just to carry my baby from the car (in an attached garage) to the house is so disheartening. That little boy is my life, and I just want to be able to be a normal mom, and snuggle/play with my son without excrutiating pain. I looked at my first panel taken 2 years ago and saw that my tpo is high, yet they said nothing about hashimoto's, just called it hypothyroid. My thyroid has been all over the place, even on meds. My new gp just did some more testing, and I really hope I get some answers, some peace of mind, soon! All the dr. Visits with failure to get answers just makes you feel like it is all in your head.... sorry for the story, It's just hard and lonely sometimes.

Try high dose vitamin d3 daily - it will help soooo much! I take 5000 IU's daily and it put my tsh levels in the normal zone. Also eating small amounts of dark chocolate daily helped my pain immensely (it's high in magnesium and has healthy fats). And green tea daily has helped me a lot (high in antioxidants and it does help with weight loss as well).

@@SunnyDeeTee Thank you so much! It's scary that at (a week and a half away from) 28 I have days where I stand up from sitting down and can't move, to the point where I almost collapse. Some days it takes all I have to just walk. I am praying that something gives and I can be normal again, and play with my son without worrying about how I play, if I will be able to get up etc... I hate that it makes me feel like a bad mom when the thing I've always wanted most in life was to be a mom. Needless to say, I am determined to do what it takes to get answers and start healing! Amazing combination and no inflammation, brain working and energy. The little bit of Iron alone made it all better! ❤

I'm waiting to see an endocrinologist next week. My TSH level was very low and I have an elevated Anti-Thyroperoxidase level. My family doctor basically didn't want to run the blood test because she said I was fine. In fact, another doctor found my low TSH level and said I needed to have it checked out. Only after I basically refused to leave the office did my family doctor agree to run the test. When the TSH levels came back low, but the Anti-Thyroperoxidase was elevated she sent me for an Uptake Scan. But she didn't know what to do after those came back... so she sent me to the endocrinologist. I think it's Hashimoto's because of the inflammation. I wish she would have just sent me to the endocrinologist first. So, I'm anxious to see what the doctor says next week. I just want to start feeling better.

Its only because there is no concrete evidence in the literature surrounding diet or has found no conclusive results only anecdotal experiences and its hard to say if avoiding certain ingredients will help and its get complicated with many different factors. If it works keep doing it but its not surprising that a holistic "doctor" would say yes lol That aside though I'm starting to wonder myself if I have hypothyroidsm/hashimoto's because I have a lot of the same symptoms with cold intolerance being the one that stands out to me...usually I love the cold but everyone around me now can tolerate it better which the most common diseases surrounding that is hypothyroidism or anemia but I think the thyroid would make more sense with: weight gain, joint issues, cold, tired, "brain fog", anxiety, depression, hair thinning and the fact that my caffeine consumption aggravated it.

Hashimoto’s is actually an auto immune response. Inflammation is often caused by certain foods like gluten and dairy. A simple google search will lead you to many folks who have healed their Hashimoto’s simply through diet and sometimes supplements. Healed meaning they no longer require medication. Conventional medicine is notorious for not recognizing the significance of diet in healing one’s body.

I follow the books written by Amy Myers (MD) and Terry Wahls (MD). Both suggest that gluten and dairy should be eliminated because the proteins they contain resemble the proteins on the thyroid gland (molecular mimicry). So when these proteins leak from your gut (intestinal dysbiosis) they enter your bloodstream and the body makes antibodies against them. Those antibodies then attack your thyroid gland. Hope this helps.
