it took me 2.5 years to finally find a Selentino Sterling 58cm in Olive, but i did, and it's absolutely beautiful and has joined my collection of Sterlings. i am also looking into that Porkpie Oak in Whiskey hoping to get it from the same company that found me my Olive Sterling. no matter what i'm wearing when i leave my house, i have on a classy hat, usually a Selentino. We Be Looking Good Baby!!!! 😉 great video by the way Sir! 😊

I have to say, Selentino is one of the most overlooked and under appreciated hat makers. Thanks for the comment!

@@davidkimberly4682 just thought i'd give you an update, i received my Brown 58cm Selentino Pork Pie Oak and i've been wearing it around the house for about 2hrs (i test every hat that way for comfort) and it's amazingly comfortable and it looks beautiful. it's my first one and i love it. i can tell you it won't be my last one. i think i might be looking for one in a light grey. oh and yeah, i watched your video again, cause it was that good!

Great hat David... lots of information as to the manufacturer, and possible local Mom and Pop shops who might carry this product. Thank you 😊

You can certainly never go wrong with Stetson. I have the Stetson Madrigal, a coconut straw porkpie and love it.

Enjoyed hearing your thoughts! My first hat purchase was a pork pie. I was really wanting a pinch in the front like your have on a fedora, but never felt as comfortable with their taller crowns and wider brims. You helped me feel more confident in my pork pie.
@davidkimberly46822 жыл бұрын
If you want a pinched front you might want to try a teardrop bash. It allows you to lower the crown.

Man I am getting back into smaller hats, after some years, and a lot of wearing western hats. I have enjoyed this video more than any hat video I have seen in a long time! I appreciate your insight and Sharing your experiences regarding Selentino. I also truly appreciate the dialog about different folks who have sported these; it brings back memories! I can’t wait to watch more.

Thank you for that great feedback! I should be doing these more regularly but I guess it comes down to being lazy.

@@davidkimberly4682 thank you very much David! Yeah, I have hats all over the house. 😀 You inspired, and helped push me over the edge, so last night I steamed a vintage Champ into a pork pie. My wife actually did most of the work though. I wanted to see if I can lean on your knowledge with a question; I’m trying to figure out the most appropriate size for me in the Selentino. In Stetson fedoras, I’m 7 1/8, and I have heard that Selentino runs a little large, but no one is specific on exactly how large. I was just wondering what your experience is with this? By the way, don’t be worried about being lazy and not making videos all the time, that’s part of what makes it good; you make them when you feel the urge, and nothing is stale.
@davidkimberly46822 жыл бұрын
@@ShawnBrockMusic It's always better for a hat to be a little big rather than a little small. I'd go with the 7 1/8. If you need to you can put a little spacer under the band. Have you seen Kevin Todd Gerber's channel, "Hats & Guitars?" Super informative. He's been a salesman at JJ Hat Center in NYC for 25 years.

@@davidkimberly4682 yes sir, I am a frequent visitor to his channel. Absolutely, very informative indeed. I plan on trying a couple of those, and since we last chatted, I ordered the Selentino Sterling in camel.

I seem to only find the confidence to wear pork pies, and derby hats.... as well as baseball caps but I don't count those...
