Does anyone recognize the Greek mythology reference here? Just me? "The Big 3" is a reference to the Big Three, the three strongest gods in Greek mythology. Mirio is based on Zeus the king of the gods with the muscular build, great reputation, overpowered abilities and the fact that he's kind of the main guy. Nejire is based on Poseidon the god of sea with the blue color scheme and ocean-y aesthetic Tamaki is based on Hades the god of the underworld, with the long black hair, negative personality, edgy costume and shapeshifting.

I always took it as a reference to the big 3 manga/anime. Mirio as One Piece, the nearly flawless hard worker. Nejire as Naruto, full of energy and hyperactivity/optimism. And Tamaki as Bleach. Quieter, more serious, and underestimated but can still hold his own. Then Izuku is My Hero Academia. The young newcomer who wants to reach their level of awesome, especially Mirio's (One Piece).

He doubts his abilities and has low self confidence, which is the same traits possessed by anti-heroes (whereas heroes in general are the opposite, ie. confident, brave, etc.). He does have some heroic characteristic (having a good heart and being determined) but it's not enough to say that he's a 'hero' and his less pleasant traits ended up making him more of an anti-hero than a hero.

I like the arc but I dislike Eri. She kind of the Yui (SAO) of MHA. Plus hacks mode. She is someone we are supposed to care about, and want protected. But she is kinda meh to me, more of an idea that a person. Plus her power breaks the series as of what we know about it now. It introduces an unsavory element that we aren't allowed to hate like All for One's ability. I loved Overhaul though.

Let me tell you all a story. Long ago there appeared an amazing hero/shonen known as All Might/Dragon Ball Z. He defined a generation, inspiring many young heros/ mangakas to try to emulate him. He was the best. The speed. The strength. No one else came close! His ability was to gather power/power scale characters. No one knew what amazing feat he would do next! Then, fatefully this mighty hero/shonen was struck a huge wound/decline in popularity. This led to the arrival of the Big 3! There was Nejire/Naruto: the hyperactive optimist with seemingly boundless energy. The dark and brooding Tamaki/Bleach, who lacked confidence and was underestimated, yet never failed to impress. And finally, the one that everyone thought would succeed All Might/DBZ as the next number one hero/shonen: Mirio/One Piece. He worked his way to the top, making a seemingly unwhelming power into something amazing through dedication and hard work. Then came a new comer. This young hero/shonen felt utterly unworthy in comparison and yet had been passed on the drive to become number one. Worshiping All Might/DBZ and idolizing Mirio/One Piece, this young hero/shonen gives his all. Despite only being able to use a fraction of All Might's/DBZ's power Izuku Midoriya/My Hero Academia will continue to push forward to live up to the name of hero/shonen! P.S. Nejire/Naruto is the one with the most similar appearance to the signature look of MHA characters. (Just as the story resembles MHA the most) Tamaki/Bleach have thinner and more sharp features. And Mirio/One Piece are both strange and stand out in comparison to other characters/other shonen at the time.

It probably won't since each 24 season is just 2 arcs. So s4 would cover the Overhaul and the remedial course arc. However, it might be teased towards the end of s4, just like how we're getting teased for the overhaul arc during the last 2 eps of s3.

I think it's possible based on the amount of chapters covered each season (they have consistently been covering more chapters with each consecutive season and if they didn't cover the cultural festival, then they'd cover less chapters than they did in season 3). Also, it would make sense as a way to end off Eri's arc because of what goes on at the cultural festival. Of course, it's also possible they choose not to since they would be pushing the pacing a little bit, but I'm just gonna be hopeful about it anyways X3

I dont think he could ever beat Endevour if Endevour was willing to use lethal force. He can liquidate the ground, not to mention set the entire area on fire. Mirio would either melt or suffocate underground. But power in shonen isnt binary usually. Mirio would destroy Best Jeanest, whereas Endevour would have a slightly harder time (not saying Best Jeanest would win but he would have more to work with than he would against naked and intangible Mirio). That being said Mirio is a better hero than Endevour.
