Cole, from experience while cleaning the attic - rig up a chute/slide out of a window and send things down the chute/slide rather than running the stairs.

And, preferably, have the bottom end of the chute in the back of the dump truck so the junk lands in it and won't have to be handled any more than necessary.

A respirator is a must, but you can minimize the dust from the bird and rodent droppings by using a pump garden sprayer with water before attempting to clean it up. Dissolving some baking soda and adding vinegar to the solution has the added beneficial effect of killing any spiders. The spray may smell a little while wet but the odor goes away once dry while leaving it smelling a whole lot better. That is a HUGE attic, I really hope he does something spectacular with that space. Insulate, put up some shiplap walls and lay a floor up there and it could be an awesome game room!

I think you 2 are adorable! I can’t wait till you get everything out of the house and it cleaned and painted. I’d bet Nave will have it all decorated and beautiful before long. I still remember those days. My high school boyfriend and fiancée worked so hard getting ready for marriage. He was a master when it came to woodworking and literally custom built all our living room, dining room and bedroom furniture. I sanded till I was blue and picked fabric for cushions and our headboard and dining room chairs. We started off with furniture it would have taken most folks years and years and years to be able to have that quality. On top of that we bought a new car and paid it off and kept an older one but well maintained. I drove that one because after college graduation he became a Vice President of commercial lending at one of our oldest banks and needed a nice vehicle more that a nurse did. Parents gave washers, dryers, a bedding set and both our Mom’s put all our favorite recipes on recipe cards and boxes for us to continue the love in our lives of the favorites. We also scraped and had 2 savings accounts for emergencies. It was so much work from the age of 16 till after college graduation and the beginning of our lives officially as a couple. I know it sounds anal but we could have wasted our time on junk or accomplish something. We liked to be together and worked well together so it was a win/win. As we watched other couples struggle after marriage we bought a house and enjoyed the fruits of our labors. We loosened up afterward and enjoyed vacations and fun but were so grateful we did it the way we did. Can’t wait to watch the progress guys. I’d have given anything to have had a Daddy like Daddy Cornstar growing up but unfortunately my Daddy was killed in a car accident when I was 4 1/2 yrs old. Few true memories except I never remember him being angry. When a family chooses to live close together, work together, tease each other and actually love and like each other that is a true blessing from God!!! Love from West Texas! Drenda❤️🌹

Smart idea. Also read another comment about rigging up some kind of shoot system so bags filled with bird poop etc. can be heaved down the shoot maybe right into the dump truck to be hauled to the dump yard or burn pile - send any metal items down separately. Also, consider keeping furniture, you never know if it might be an antique that polishes up beautifully. Even icky upholstered chairs can be ripped down to the frame and repadded and reupholstered. Are you close to an area that has a Re-Store or something like Goodwill or St. Vincent de Paul? You can always donate furniture in decent condition to them - saves it from the dump/land fill/burn pile. What is one man's trash is another man's treasure, that's been proven time and time again!
