2021 will be my first year. I purchased a cousin to carry with me. It's for ensuring I don't double book big stuff, plus I'll use it for grocery lists etc. I'm looking to get a cover that can work as a wallet as well. I also purchased a cousing that will stay at home. The weekly in that will have the fine details, and the daily for journalling. I appreciate these videos as it helps me fine tune my plans.

I was decorating my Cousin and Mega Weeks 2021 as I was watching this. I am a student and I use the Mega Weeks as an academic planner. I wholeheartedly recommend it for this person. It is getting me through my Masters! 😆

I’ve been in the planner community for years, but have been resisting the Hobos! Mainly because I’ve been entirely content with using my massive amounts of Field Notes notebooks for my pocket sized bullet journal system. But this year, one thing lead to another and I got my first A6 notebook and am loving the size! So then I just had to get the Hobo original avec. And because of your awesome videos, I am adding in a Weeks for 2021. I’ve been a memory keeper for 30+ years and I love being able to combine the two worlds (three worlds if I include my art)! Thank you for the great videos!! I’m a new subscriber and a new follower on your IG! :D

i like using fountain pen ink which is a bit thinner than regular ink so it bleeds easy even on paper like rhodia. this is the only video i have seen that mentions the pencil board. thanks!

Great video Lindsey! Since I've been learning all about Hobonichi products for the last few months I already knew some of this, but I hadn't seen the 5 year (or the stencil lol I gotta get a stencil now!). Also it's great to have a 10m video that I can share with my friend as I try to introduce her to planners :) nice to have a quick explanation of the various Hobonichis for people new to them! Hi Lindsey! I will be using the Weeks Mega, the Cousin full year and maybe a techo, too. But I am going to add the 5 year journal. I didn't know they had one and I really like using one. I only started using them (techo & mega weeks,) about half way through this year and just adore them. Thank you for the video. I really enjoyed it!

@@ssd1453 The weeks mega is going yo be my everyday carry, I track my finances and personal activities, the Cousin will be for work, I like to keep them separate and leave it at work most of the time. And I'm trying n g to track a new exercise program I'm doing so that will stay at home, but still be used daily. And I just think 5 year journals are cool for a one line per day all in one place. Might seem complicated, but I see a lot of people planning in multiple journals. And honestly, it feeds my love of stationery, journals, pens & paper, and stickers of course! LOL 😁

@@jenniferhopkins5694 thanks my only concern is whether the cousin would be too bulky as a planner. Maybe the weeks or techo can be my planner? I don't know I am clearly still very confused LOL!!

@@ssd1453 Well, I am selecting the Cousin (full year) because of the notes I frequently have to take. With the multiple calendar options I can look at the month view for future planning (high level, not detailed), I can note recurring meetings on the weeklies and then I have the dailies for my day-to-day notes. Also, I would likely not decorate the Cousin the way I will the Weeks, and unless I have to do a weekend work day at home, it will likely not travel back and forth with me. Make more sense?

An idea for your 5 year journal - if you don't need this second blank page on every spread and have enough patience, you can make a ten (a least nine) year journal out of this book - there would be enough space for it XD

I think it depends on how on the go you’d want it I think! The cousin full year is manageable if you do a back pack, but if you like using a lot of stickers it will get a bit heavy by the end of the year! I’m just a bit all in one place crazy so I prefer the full year

Thanks for your video @lindseyscribbles. I'm new to the Hobonichi. I'm using a weeks for medical appointments and cousin for church sermon. I was considering using a 2021 for work, personal, and school. I'm currently in A5 rings. Do you think that could work? I have sections for tracking meals, habits, and cleaning. I like the idea of minimal expense, but not sure if it can meet all those needs.

I think it depends on how much you like to keep like information together. I found that the cousin could hold everything no problem, but I still use a pocket ring planner because some information I prefer to be able to re organize and take out as needed etc!

The 5 year journal cover is from hoboncihi directly! I think it’s called their natural cover. My clear cover is a midori a6 / midori a5 and I found mine on amazon!

I used Mega Weeks this year - got an A6 Original, a weekly supplement, a regular weeks, and an A6 5 years for 2021. Maybe I'll get a day free for work? Or should I go for a cousin? 😂

I have the 5 year, which I started this year, and I use both pages for my entry. I wonder if I'll find that to be annoying to read someday in future? I have a mega weeks that I kind of abandoned mid-year, not sure why but probably because I need more space to write things down, and I felt pressure to decorate and make the pages look cute rather than focusing on functionality.
