Great idea! Never thought to use the Cousin as a memory keeper to dump everything else from other journals/planners into so that archiving is easier. That has been my biggest challenge, archiving my planners/journals/notebooks. Thanks for sharing.

This is how I use it too. Weekly section is my planner. All the rest is memories and journal. I love that at the end of the year I have only one book to store away. (Next year 2 with the Avec) I use the Weeks book as my dump list maker pre-planner/appointments. It is in my wallet.

I had the same thought! Do you all back-fill your memories in your Gant/monthly/weekly pages or do it all in one day? I would find that easier (to remember!) but perhaps redundant? I do enjoy this idea of having all of this in one book at the end of the year though! Thanks!

SO inspiring, Lindsey! Thanks to you I've just gotten my FIRST EVER Hobonichi for 2021 (also a Cousin). It was super expensive with shipping but I'm so excited to use it next year. Did you get it from Hobonichi directly? If you're in the USA you can get free shipping from Jet Pens. If you're in Canada like me, Wonderpens sells them at a great price. Just in case this helps you if you decide to go with it again for 2022. I'm the same, seeing how Lindsey uses hers inspired me since I'm using 3 separate notebooks during the year and it's a pain to archive at the end of the year. Really excited to try my Hobonichi next year!

It's bad to Canada and we are right above the USA lol (especially right now as it's by courier only so it's like 35$ shipping). Haha I'm totally already flipping through my empty Hobonichi Cousin and thinking about how I'm going to use it so I'd say DEFINITELY NOT too early 😂. Hope next year is nothing like the dumpster fire that has been 2020! Remember when the world was EXCITED for 2020 back in Dec & Jan!? 🤣

I've just purchased a Hobonichi cousin for 2021 so this really helps me focus on how to best utilize it. I've tried a few different planners but I think this could be the one!!! (I will also have a weeks for a EDC so I don't double book myself. )

I tend to use my Cousin for work and it ends up being a mix of home/work. Next year I do plan to use it as a memory keeper as like you, I throw all other completed planners out except my Hobo A6 which is my nightly journal.

I hate when I use the wrong pen! I too,like my ink to be the same all week. I do use colored ink sometimes. But I use color coding , Mildliners, Tombows, Zig clean color dot markers for each family member. I only have the colors colors of the week in my pen pouch only. No extras I use my weeks for notes and planning forward for appointments and events. So It mostly has black ink. I do have all the colors in 3 5 in 1 pens hi- tec c COLETO 5. IN .4 MM. love these pens. Dry fast. You have got me hooked on character stickers now. I love the minimal look with the small stickers. I have been buying some every paycheck! Sticker obsession!🤑🥰

Ooh thanks for mentioning those hi Tec c 5 in 1 pens. Sounds really cool. Lol I too have been spending all my fun money lately on planner supplies including character stickers! What shops have you been buying from? I'd love to hear, maybe there's some I haven't found yet :P

Hi Lindsey, I think I mentioned this already but it's because of you I'm going to use a cousin in 2021, pretty similar to how you are using it. I have a few questions- how do you get your stickers to make sense in the monthly spreads? I don't want to put random stickers on each day of the month. Also what do you do if you don't have much to journal on a particular day? Lastly where are your tabs from and do you use a cover? xoxoxo

I actually do just pull my monthly stickers at random, but I stick to the same 3-4 shops through out the year so I think they look more cohesive because lots of them are similar. When it comes to journaling I'll just start with the first thing that comes to mind and just let it go from there. Sometimes its just a sentence or two and I leave it at that or I can typically find something rattling around in my brain. Less rules works better for me when it comes to journaling and when all else fails I'll put down some washi or something. Don't be afraid of blank pages would be my advice. Tabs are post it brand that I covered with washi or a sticker. Covers swap our regularly, but I primarily use a Midori A5 clear cover.
