Great video! My favorite is your 1200. Beautiful scape, plants and fish. Your new betta is beautiful as well, I think you should call him Rufus! And those Apisto’s are gorgeous, those fry are so cute! Keep that blackwater scape as it is, at least until those fry grow out. They look so happy there. Keep on scaping!!

Yup. Keep the blackwater! Tannin tanks are awesome, and yours look good -- all that lovely biofilm for your fry to nibble on. Be aware A. cacatuoides, IME, will breed like maniacs in any water. When I had them a long time ago they bred repeatedly in the liquid rock we call water around here. No soft water low pH needed. I think I had several hundred fry at one point. And btw thanks George, once again, for pointing out a dealer of Aquascaper tanks here in DK. I got my 600 planted now :) it is loverly.

You're welcome. :) I am enjoying it immensely. Btw, on Apistos: Bit late for you now, but temperature plays a role for the ratio of males/females . I believe it is important at the spawning/egg stage. Higher skews the rate towards males, lower towards females. But since you don't intend to breed them... 76F/24.4C I think is the dividing line.

Hey george! Am going to do monte carlo carpet in my 20 gallon tank using dry start method. Can you give me any tips for that? Like dos and donts? And I am not going to use the co2 at all! But I have a good lighting and willing to use ferts.
@GeorgeFarmerStudios6 жыл бұрын
Why dry start?
@vijaysaradhi09116 жыл бұрын
@@GeorgeFarmerStudios Hey george, The reason am going for dry start is to get the carpet real quick as I got no time because 14 hours of work and not enough experience! No one in my region has any idea about about aquascaping and no supplies are available too and the cost of the plants, co2 set are high and not for my budget! So I want to start a carpet in a 20 gallon tank with monte carlo with dry start as it is the lazy way u mentioned in your early video " Cheating" 😉!!
