Hi Foul Pachino. Thank you for watching my video, and as for the rivets I used an air rivet gun it takes less time to pop your rivets, you could use the manual riveter but I don't recommend it due time and a whole lot of pain on your hands....

Hey Tony, I’m just stumbling on your video many years later. I have to say, when I saw the first few minutes, I thought, there’s no way these cases are going to look good. I kept watching and waiting for the fail. Well, I’m eating crow and I have to say those cases look excellent and I really my admire your attention to detail. Those cases look great! I know that as a musician, your presentation and gear speaks volumes about you before one note is ever played. Your gear doesn’t have to be expensive, but when the audience or client sees how organized you are, they are happy to spend money to pay for your services. I’m sure you already know that, otherwise you wouldn’t take so much pride in your cases and protecting your gear. That custom case you made for your lights is top notch. It doesn’t look flimsy nor amateur. Where did you get the black laminate for the exterior? Also how much weight do you think your lights case can hold, and what thickness was the plywood you used? I’m looking to make a couple of 4x12 speaker cabinet cases that I want to be able to stack upon each other. I’m also going to make a custom case to carry 6 guitars and act as a stage rack for them. Considering the cheapest I’ve seen for a pre-made case for my cabinet I’d $500, I’d be crazy not to make them myself. Thanks for the answers to my questions. Andale!

Thank you watching my video. Now to your question, the laminate is called ABS you can get that material at reliablehardware.com, you can also find all related material and hardware to build your own cases there. I have been building all my cases because I like to keep my gear in good shape , plus it makes it look professional when you show up your events. as far as speaker cabinets I believe the best is birch plywood 3/4 inch thickness and for the cases you can do with 1/2 inch.

Thanks for the info. I already knew about reliable, but, seeing their parts in action has me sold. I don’t need to build cabinets, I already have 2 Marshall’s, I just need the cases. Thanks for the 1/2” information, that’s something I hadn’t thought about. Good luck with your cases and your gigs.

Good product, well made. Just tighten up on the presentation an think about using a script, it will flow better and more people will start to like. Ask ur cameraman to make more fluid movements or use utube stabilising feature.................

great build. I use proper flight case parts to make my flight cases as well. I wanted to make a video of my own because too many diy flight case videos just nail the panels to each other and then stick a angle brace on top which is too weak IMO. Proper corner extrusions and riveting is the way to go. btw. what thickness ply do you use? I am using 9mm and find it too heavy - I want to drop down to 6mm but don't want to take a chance in case it is not rigid enough.
@ritmopachanguero10 жыл бұрын
I used 9mm and feel it kind of heavy also. I'd like to try the 6mm for my flat 50 inch screens, but I also wonder if the screens will be too heavy.
