This is some amazing work right here. Don't let people tell you otherwise. Fools don't even know what they're talking about. 200 HP in a car that weighs as much as a bag of chips can do a lot. Besides, there's the fun in building it and the reward of a screaming 4-banger.

U are right no doubt but he should be making much more with a gtx3076r the turbo is good for around 650 he must be running like 2lbs of boost thats some really low numbers for a turbo that size.....if his powwr goal is only like 300hp give or take there are much more turbos for that power level and have a better power band
I have a boosted B series EK coupe and I love it. I ran a boosted JDM D15B VTEC for a while and it always ran great for me, never gave me a problem, but I had to have torque, so I went with a B18B1 non-VTEC from an Integra GS here in the US. Bags of torque and even with 650 cc injectors it still gets 26 MPG if you keep your foot out of it.

I actually would never go with my dailycar on the track. No matter who is to blame - if something happens to your beloved car, you are fucked. I would rather build a trackcar for a few hundred bucks and go full risk with it on track. You dont need a fast car to have fun. But you have to be able to reach your limits to have fun.

There is more space and easy to work with and the timing is always on point than the dohc since its using one timing belt for one cam so its less work on the crank. it's pretty solid and simple engineering. This guy isn't going all out on 5th gear pulls though.

the d series has a one peice girdle that holds the jurnals down with all 10 bolts like the head gasket.. enclosing the bearings, not like the B motor, yeah the B seris rod are stonger stock, but turbo D ur gunna want acl, eagle rod w/arp rod bolts n head studs, makes sense, now u can run 20psi all day like i run my bone stock civic.

he's on low boost .... that turbo is capable of 4x what hes using it for . engine may not be though . when you do a build like this, you stay conservative till all is broken in and well off for a bit , then crank er up but keeping it healthy . for a old school sohc build , this is pretty clean and well done .

Bro this turbo is perfect for a SOHC..a gt30r is pretty big already..any bigger he'll just be dealing with a lot of turbo lag
@jdmfreak92112 жыл бұрын
@wc4pwned The turbo is relatively large, the engine is tiny and the air and exhaust are distributed by one cam. He's running 7-8 pounds through a GT3076. Ball bearing or not it's going to be a crawler. Youre talking about torque curves like you think youre an engineer, so do the math with the size of the compressor, the amount of air to be compressed and the whole 32hp per cylinder that the Z6 makes.
@icomba9 жыл бұрын

Well, stock Z6 is only 130 HP or so. Half a bar would be roughly 50% increase in HP. So another 75, that's only 200. 220 HP is good for his set up.
