I only saw 7K rpm? my sohc doesnt come alive till 5500 and pulls all the way through 8200? Let er eat boys

Increible ese Coupe Dominus, he seguido tus posts en varios foros de honda. Estamos yo y 2 amigos preparando un Civic EF con bloque D16A7 y Culata Z6, y nos estas quitando de muchas dudas en que hacer para sacarle todo el partido. De momento estamos desmontando el motor y viendo qeu esta todo OK para poder trabajar en el. Enhorabuena por la preparacion, y las horas que llevas invertidas en ese coche. Un saludo desde España.

@TheBimmerzrule Thanks for comment. You could make the same job w/cheap parts indeed, like with OBX itb's. You don't need forged pistons, forged rods, AEM EMS and stuff, but you'll need a reputable camshaft and header, among few other significative things.

LOVE IT!! I'M FELLOW ENTHUSIAST/BUILDER/TUNER - ALL MOTOR N/A SOHC HONDA D-SERIES "true power is what your engine makes not what a turbo spools" NO get me wrong I DON'T HATE turbo, I just think that its needed more for high speed tire smoke showoff drifting which is awesome.

@Twitchc0rp they do provide an huge & high air flowmass indeed! About gains or adavantage in its use, w/ ITB's right back on the engine its help is relative at all.

@blown0883 the OBX unit alone U$S 600 and the engine is managed with AEM EMS 1040, Alpha-N Mode.

@belzebucruz you have a beautiful country...I was there. Lisboa, Cascais, Sintra, Estoril, beach, castles, nice landscapes, some cute girls and great cars too (Ferrari, Porsche, Lambo, Masseratti, etc, etc, etc.). Good highways too, but people drives way too slow, LOL. The road along the sea from Lisboa to Cascais is a nice ride...to do it very very fast...Portugueis, nice people, friendly (they talk too much, LOL). ...I'll be back there soon (i guess..). BTW, I am using 93 octane gas.

Your set up is Clean. Was thinking of all motor or boosted... still thinking but, do like Itb set up and i like to spool too so hard to make decisions lol. Question Could the D16z6 Valve Cover Fit on the D16Y8 head. I like the cover on the z6 than y8. Let me know so i can but the valve cover. Thanks.

compare to those high lift cams your car run smooth and that's what I like from it! by the way for a daily drive gaz pump is not an issue with that car?

High lift profiles in VTEC cams aren´t noticiable while idling, because the low profile of the cam is performing. About pump gas, it's all relative to the fuel quality available in your town. In this case, better the quality, better results via a better tuning. Thanks for comment.

@xDGKRivas22x your question is O.K. I`ll say several engine modifications (much more than high compression, big cam, ITB's , header and exhaust for good scavenging effect).

Why not? It's cool too see built to he fuckin maximum N/A D-Series Motors, and they're fuckin fun to drive when built up to these proportions, such as the Civic in the video...

how did u install that header? was the dip stick in the way at all? or did it just fit in? I have the same header the tube where the oil dip stick goes in is preventing it from fitting all the way

Hi. No issue with the oil dip stick. This is the first batch, V2 version of this header.

Is a difficult decision to make. ITB's are not cheap but you will get better performance. Fittingly were reached 179WHP @ DynoJet Research 248x. I left a video on your channel.

what kind of numbers did you do on the dyno? im literialy in the middle of doing an almost identical build. my compression is 12.6:1 and bored 0.040 over but other than that its about all the same setup. just trying to decide between skunk2 intake or ITB's

@ribak1983 we'd to do a special map -lean- to pass it and we'd done it with success, but its very hard to do the same on american soil, I guess...We're talkin' about a very rude cam indeed...

I love SOHC's, I've built two of my own, one was around 320whp. I have always hated all motor/high comp D16 builds. IMO they are useless engines to try make fast N/A, 180whp in this car would have cost sooo many thousands it's not funny. I wouldn't ever build an N/A SOHC, I'd only ever boost it. But as an exercise, it is pretty cool

Depends what your going for. Straight line, boost is great. But a 150whp all motor SOHC in an ef/eg with good suspension, light wheels, and sticky tires is killer for autocross.

i dont understand,why countries like EUA,"for example" don´t use more than 93 gas?here,from 95 to 98,you notice a big diference.bring your car here man! lol.i would like to see it on dyno with this gas ;)

@belzebucruz remember my friend: I am not on american soil; I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Here we don`t have regular -and real- 98 american oct pump gas. Besides, quality is really bad; not like US or Europe!
